Excellent Place to Stay”
We traveled to KhaoKho for the marathon but had no idea about the spectacular beauty of Khaokho. We're soooooo thankful to have stayed at Moon Light Chateau because of the quaint lodging, it's proximity to the temple, and the PHENOMENAL views. We loved watching the movement of the clouds each morning... breath-taking. We highly highly highly recommend staying here!

The location to the temple is second to none, and worth the price of the stay in my opinion; to stay any closer, you'd have to be a monk, or Thai Royalty. They have a cute Christmas theme throughout the loby and eating areas, I think the Christmas theme is year round. The wifi is strong in the rooms and in the loby/eating area. At the moment because of covid restrictions, there's not a lot happening after about 6 pm, so you'd want to make plans for something to eat or drink, however there's a great mini-fridge in the cottage i rented. the main reason why i have it 4 stars, the bed could have been more comfortable. Please note, this location is not Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket, if you come stay here with the mentality of those cities, you will end up disappointed. Also, if you are tall (like 6', and above), you may want to consider reserving the largest room available, as you may be disappointed with the room size. I will definitely stay here again, as the proximity to the temple is the most outstanding feature. Moreover, the staff in the ground and courteous and quite polite (i give them 5 stars) !! They can arrange for an on-time taxi pick up on your departure!

Good location and Clean room”
Good location (Next to temple). Clean room. Friendly staff. Difficult to control hot water but it's hot enough. Breakfast is so so. I got free face spa at the hotel from agoda.

Very Good Location”
Very good Location 100 m from Wat Pha Son Kaew, the cottage is convenience but a little cheap interior things, good service and breakfast.

Round bungalow”
Awesome view of the temple and surroundings. Lovely place. We could walk to the temple and shops. Very few ppl were working but they did their best to keep everything comfortable. The round bungalow is spacious with a place outside to sit and watch the temple and mountainside. However the room was a bit weird. There were 4 beds inside, 2 queen sized and 2 folding. The bathroom ceiling was open and shared the room ceiling with a gap, so kind of uncomfortable as all sounds were loud and clear. Overall quite comfortable, just weird.

Stay only one night. Opt for Sunset room. Spacious for 3 adults. Toiletries are minimum, no room slipper. Nearer if you are heading Phu Thap Boek Mountain.

The room and toilet is small. The catch is the ambiance and the great view overlooking the temple.

Very Poor Service and Amenities”
There were just two pillows provided, and we requested for more pillows. The manager there intially told me she can give me 2 more pillows at night but the following day just changed her mind to give me one. The room and bathroom were pathetically small. Breakfast was not fantastic that we skipped it on the 2nd morning and ate at a shop at the Temple before checking out early. There was basically no amenities, and even drinking water was not provided. This was an initial booking for 3 nights but I decided to cancel the 3rd night and was prepared to forfeit the last night's booking fees, but fortunately, Agoda managed to convince the hotel to allow me to cancel and they refunded me in AgodaCash. Subsequently, we booked a Family Villa at Khao Kho Valley Hotel with 2 queen beds and a living room for even cheaper than a very small room at Moonlight Chateau. It was so peaceful at Khao Kho Valley Hotel because Moonlight Chateau is besides the famous Wat Phra That Pha Son Kaeo.

Nice place”
A little on the older side but well maintained Breakfast simple but no coffee offered at breakfast (besides Nescafé packages in room). Staff friendly and cordial. Location to temple is perfect. Odd that only a few rooms were shown as available on Agoda but we were the only ones staying at this hotel this weekend.

Truely a gem!”
I stayed here for one night on the 22nd and I thought the receptionist was a little impatient. I found out the next day, it was due to our english vs. Thai language barrier and with my thai speaking companion, the receptionist turned out to be a lot of fun. Her assistant was also very friendly and helpful. when night fell, the reception/lobby is closed so do all your queries before they leave. Location was great. Next to Wat Prat Sorn Kheaw but food in that area is unexpectedly tourist-priced. I loved the cottage feel of Moon Light Chateau as it was not as cold and wet as it would have been in Phu Tur Berk, although clouds did descend the next morning just before it rained; rather heavily too. Breakfast was accommodating as we were on a less/no-meat diet. Go and experience this lovely place has to offer!

Want to stay near the temple”
The only good thing is this hotel is very near to the famous temple, so that you can walk to the temple during the night, when you can see the Buddha when light up, very awesome view. The room is the smallest I ever stay with the kind of price. The breakfast though is quite OK, make to order type. We are vegetarian and they able make for us some porridge. If the room size can be better, this hotel has the potential.

Definitely not for fussy travellers. We did an upgraded to sunrise room upon seeing the size of the junior suite. The location was awesome with good view.
