Best in town, worth every dollar, nice staffs, very good breakfast”
Locates next to the largest and most famous night market in Hualien: Dongdamen. 15-20 mins by bus from Hualien train station (150 NTD by taxi). We booked 4 beds (2 bunk beds) for 4 single, turned out to be that they offered us free upgrade to 2 double bunk beds (for 2 persons each) room as they tried to manage us to stay altogether in the same room! All staffs were so friendly e.g. I was sitting play mobile game in the kitchen after checked-out waiting my friends to come back. I didn't turn on any lights there as I think natural light was kind of enough and I didn't want to bother the hotel's electricity so much since I already checked-out. But, one staff walked in and saw me, before he (or she?, so sorry, can't well remember) left the kitchen, he turned on the light for me. This just shows how service-minded they are! ..Rest room was big and clean with semi wet-dry area separated, but all built-in with toilet. Hair dryer and slippers were provided. Breakfast was BIG! Wifi was SUPERB!

Awesomeness. ”
The caretaker is very kind to make sure I have a comfortable stay. He noticed that I would probably be the only female in the mixed dorm that I booked and re-arranged/upgrade for me and a couple other solo female travellers to be in the same dorm. Facilities are great especially the bathroom. Better bathroom that my own bathroom backhome. 5 star hotel shower minus bathtub. Good breakfast to start your multiday cycling trip. Lots of cyclers stays here can chat and get tips from them. Laundry is just around the corner. Dongma night Market also round the corner. - big and most well organised in Taiwan. More like funfair.Probably biggest.

Super Friendly”
Phoenix Hostel is near to Dongdamen Night Market. What I really like about this hostel is the staff super friendly. Apart from that this hostel is just in front taxi stand. All the uncles there are helpful. Dont worry they’ll charge you using meter starts from 100TWD. My room is big enough to place my luggage. Shared bathroom. Ohhh. Bathrooms and toilets all have water-hose near by toilet bowl. *thumb-up*. The hostel is perfect. Hoping to be there again one day.

Valueable stay in stylish rooms”
This place overcame our expectations for the amount we payed. Located right next to the big night market and close to the ocean (quite a bit from the train station though). Breakfast was nice with a lot of vegetables and fruit! The staff also helped us with booking a bus tour up to Taroko National Park which was a lot cheaper than any other tours we found.

Friendly staff. Clean accommodation (rooms, washroom, pantry). In walking distance to the nearby Feng Jia Market with a taxi stand (I believe) right outside the hostel itself. Rooms are very cozy but the blanket covers feel too rough for my liking.

Nice stay ”
Very comfortable hostel, and nice breakfast. Location was near the old port where you can explore the older parts of the city. Nearby there is a lovely park by the seaside too, and not forgetting the night market for dinner.

Good spot and nice place”
The hostel was at Hua Lien's central and easy to transport to other places. Helpful staff but they are not always available and present at the hostel all the time, you can consider booking the exact arrival date and time.

One of the best hostels anywhere”
Top marks for cleanliness, service and value; the breakfast is also good considering the price and the bunk beds are comfortable and provide a reasonable amount of privacy for a shared room. The only complaint was the lack of any sort of shelving or cupboards which means your clean/dirty clothes, toothbrushes, etc. daily items have to sit on your bed with you (or the floor!).
