Super friendly staff and cozy room!”
I stayed here for 2 nights. The check-in time is from 15:00 but I arrived at 12:00. The staff was super friendly and told me the room was already ready, so I could check in immediately. The staff was very helpful and knew lots about the area and how to get around. Breakfast was included in my booking, but due to the pandemic I got a bento box instead of a buffet. The food was super good and there was so much included that I could eat both breakfast and lunch. My single room was small but the perfect size for a single person and super cozy. It was quiet at night and I slept well. I really enjoyed my stay here. Would recommend!

The rooms were spacious and the futons (tatami) were really comfortable. My family all said they had the best sleep during the few nights that we had stayed here! The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and when I had asked for directions to get to the hotel, they offered to pick us up at the train station. They also dropped us off at Karuizawa station on the day we checked out!

8/4-9/4/2019 we are a group of 5 persons stay in the family room with private bathroom. We are rented a small car for our sightseeing purpose, and required the hotel to pick up our luggage to hotel. We are very happy that they end up to meet us at the Karuizawa Station instead of the Naka Karuizawa station as mentioned early. Very appreciate for your kindness. We all like the public onsen very much especially the weather was cold, will feel warm after the hot bath. Really enjoy our stay in here. Good experience for 1st time self drive in this small town.

the hotel was traditional and welcoming. all facilities were provided. a bit far from the train station but comes with a quiet atmosphere. not too far from attractions like churches and chapel.

It's at Narakaruizawa. However they offer pick up to and fro to Narakaruizawa station which is very convenient. Walking distance to Stone Church and eateries at the Terrace. Their dinner included was good.

Room looked new. Compared to other property, this hotel is reasonably priced. It has onsen, provides dinner and breakfast (extra cost) and has bicycle rental and free pickup service to and from station. But the toilet is very small and cold. Can't imagine how freezing if we were to stay during winter.

Felt that the room was over priced. It is more than a 10-minute walk from the train station and you have to negotiate your luggage on a narrow pavement shared with cyclists all the way. Other than the novelty of having a japanese style room, we could not find anything else that would draw us to stay there again.

room door is quite torn, we have to force to close it or open it each time. Room was very very small. After opening 3 mattresses, we have no more space for opening luggage.

Pretty room with kotatsu but Poor quality amenities such as Paper cups to drink out of, and no proper tea. Freezing cold in December. They did provide an electric heater for the room when I stated how cold it was. . Tiny bathroom with low quality shower/tap fixtures, without any heat whatsoever. Hated it. Breakfast average. Communication very poor, no response to emails sent in advance to the property. For the price I expected a proper Ryokan. This is a nothing more than a hostel for young careless travelers. If you want a real ryokan experience do not go here.

we have a great experience staying in ryokan ikoisanso. my husband and me like it so much, as the location good, as we rent a car to hanging around. the surrounding of hotel is beautiful especially in the early spring morning, we and our baby can walk outside to enjoy the scenery. staff very nice, our baby very happy with tatami bed and like to crawling here and there, it is very worthy to stay with less money but high quality hotel in karuizawa, as you know hotel at karuizawa not cheap. cp value for ryokan ikoisanso is high, we probably will come staying again for next trip. thanks.

Very reasonable price for expensive town ”
Comfortable Japanese style room, good size, with the best coffee bag and creama supplied in your room. The other guests were a bit noisy coming in late after drinking, but I guess you should expect that on a Saturday night. The onsen was nice and didn't smell like chlorine like some of the other places I stayed at. We were at Karuizawa because we were walking over the Usui Pass, which was beautiful and I would only stay in this expensive town if you had a good reason.

I booked this ryokan for my hubby, but, we had a horrible experience. Because they provide free shuttle from station, so, I requested for pick-up, since our conversation is with agoda inbox system, I need to be the key for ryokan & my hubby. On the day, I told the ryokan the arrival time of my hubby, and ask the location to meet up. But, the horrible thing is they sent their shuttle to Karuizawa, not the station we mentioned at the begining, the Naka-Karuizawa. my hubby forced to walk all around the Naka-Karuizawa station for their shuttle in the freezing and snowing weather. until I felt weird that both of them wouldn't find each other, I asked the ryokan which station they send the shuttle, then they found they made this terrible mistake!!!! OMG!!! the ryokan itself, facilities are okay, but, they made this terrible mistake....

Good value but not the best location”
A little far from Naka-Karuizawa station yet still easy to navigate to. Classic Japanese style room with Sakura on your window. Not too far from shops/restaurants of Hoshino Resort. Good quiet place to rest and recharge.
