Good meals at the hotel”
Good traditional breakfasts and dinners. We stayed for 3 nights and got something new each time. Each time we had a meal, we was excited about what we would experience. The traditional rooms are very nice and clean. We were asked when we had dinner so that someone could come and make the beds for us. And during the day, someone would come and remove the beds too. We had iced water in a jug and there was teapots and biscuit for us to enjoy everyday. We tried the onsen too, this was probably the nicest looking one I went to. The outdoor onsen is made with rocks and it's really peaceful to look at the skies in the evening and see the stars. Would definitely like to come back some day, can't praise this hotel enough, 100% satisfied.

Pros: everything from the food (breakfast&dinner--yes you should get it) to the facilities! The open-air outdoor bath was fabulous and stayed open even with a rainstorm. The top floor's bath was magic in the morning! I went in Feb so the sunrise isnt exactly in front of you, but its close enough. I took a bath every morning and night so I basically never used the shower in my room. The hotel also has a free shuttle to and from the sand baths, but the times are a bit late (two drop-off times during 5pm~6pm). Cons: Nothing except that you cannot choose your food. In other words there is no food menu. You have to pay for any special drinks at dinner (sake etc) and the closest station (Miyagahama) while is in walkable distance, it is enough to raise a brow for some folks. Also the ryokan is a bit far from Ibusuki station and well most tourist attractions. So rent a car or prepare to take the bus/taxi/train around. Keep in mind that the train only comes by once an hour.

Room is spacious and very nice sea view. The dinner is tasty. Hotel provide free shuttle to the Ibusuki Black Hot Sand and free pick up to and from JR station （宮濱駅）

Great hotel but not so convenient ”
In general, a trip to Ibuski should be done by driving so this hotel is reachable. But in case you don't (like me), it's really inconvenient and buses are in hourly-intervals (and bus stop is not that close to the hotel as they claimed). It's great if you just want to stay in the hotel, enjoy the room seaview and the 2 onsens, and enjoy a price-worthy big dinner in the hotel. That's what I did, which was perfect.

Go for the food and very solicitous staff”
The hotel has seen better days and the a/c in the public areas was insufficient but these minor hiccups were overcome by the truly delicious dinner and excellent breakfast. Our room was spacious and as described online tho be aware that the location is well out of town an inconvenience if you’re without car.

Excellent service and great ambience”
The hotel provides shuttle service pick up from the Miyagahama station and free shuttle to Sakura Samd bath , which is very much appreciated by my family.. But you should book in advance. The Japanese fine dining is good. and exquisite. You can even share the dinner if you are a small eater. All hotel rooms face the sea, so the view is great. You should try the tatami room.. Overall, our stay there has been superb for us.

Seaside Onsen”
It’s along the seaside so you can enjoy a panoramic view of sea. There is shuttle from / to Miyagahama station (宮ヶ浜駅) but need to email or call to request earlier. Just takes 2 mins. Also shuttles to the sand bath with scheduled time table, need to contact the ryokan for details. The staff can’t speak english very well but they really try to help. You may enjoy the quietness of this rural town here, however wifi is not provided for free, you can rent a wifi egg for 500yen / day.

The staffs were really helpful and kind. They did not speack English well, but they tried really hard to communicate with. The room was also great. It was neat and well-organized, and had a fabulous view. The amenities were useful. However, the hotel located in distant area, so you may need a vehicle to go out somewhere.

Hotel is not too old. We book the room with dinner & breakfast. Room view is nice facing harbour with balcony. The only bad thing is they don't have any shops around the hotel .
