Exceptional”
This was my second time at Oomuraya Ryokan. I loved it so much the before, I knew I didn’t want to go anywhere else this time. I am sure there are newer accomodations in the area, but Oomuraya delivers perfection every time. The staff is amazing and they are the best ambassadors of Japanese hospitality and guest service If you have a chance, enjoy one of their meals. They are exquisite, like everything else.

非常美好”
very nice and welcoming with good service, the private hot spring spa is very relaxing and will be 50 minutes for free. The bar is quite elegant with Jazz music and plenty of books. Food is so delicious and typical Japanese style of local food.

Very nice and comfy room”
A really nice place to relax. We stayed in a room with private onsen. The room has nice view and the tub is just the right size. We can add the cold water to adjust the temperature of the onsen to suit ourselves.

Excellent food and attentive staff”
We had an excellent stay at Ryokan Oomuraya and I would highly recommend people to stay here. This was a last minute booking in lieu of the ryokan in Yufuin that we had to cancel due to the damage wrought by the recent earthquake. It proved to be an excellent choice, this ryokan offered us good food and great service. My mom scrapped her knees due to a biking accident and our nakai-san (personal attendant) bought medicines (at no charge to us) to treat my mom's food. We had a gorgeous western/japanese room right by the river, and theit was really relaxing to just listen to the waters flowing and birds chirping while we relaxed in our room. The food is another reason to stay here, the dinner and breakfast (served in our rooms) they offered must be some of us the of best we had in Japan. It may be a bit difficult if you don't speak a bit of Japanese (I noted that our nakai-san didn't speak much English, it was convenient that I spoke a little Japanese), but there were some staff members who did. All in all a good stay.

Great hospitality”
Specious room with private bath. Short walk from Ureshino bus station, just 5 mins. Staffs are very polite and warm welcom to us perfectly. Kaiseki and breakfast also great and tasty. Feeling calm with natural sound. Nothing to concern just stay and relax.

Your choice for Ryokan with private onsen bath in room”
The room with 2 meals package are valuable. Room conditions + private bath are good. Meals are Ok in quantity and taste. Staffs show warm welcome. Just Ureshino are very quiet town, there is nothing to do or even walk around after 7 pm. If you like small Japan town with private atmosphere, this hotel present good values to you.

Great place for Ryokan beginners.”
This was my first time at a traditional ryokan and must say was very impressed. For the value --> Omuraya presents something interesting. Instead of a private kaiseki dinner, you are located to a semi-private stall in the restaurants with your room number. The private bathtub was offered at 23:00 which was useless as soon as I arrived I had to wash myself at the public bath (where there was zero to 0.5 other guests) so after dinner there really wasn't need for me to go for another private bath. I requested the bath the morning period, but apparently not available. (You learn in Japan not to argue or ask why things are such as they are often responded by repetitive or blank stares) The highlight of this place is the bar area where there is an extensive LP selection and a repeat Jazz CD is on play. It would've been nice if someone came in to offer to change the music to LP (where so many where on display) instead of one CD on repeat. Next time I ever visit again, I will surely ask to have something played out of my choice. The sound system is great the owner of the place is surely a jazz aficionado. The bar is only a listening bar as no one approached me during the 2 hours stay there --> to offer me a drink or let alone ask me how I was. It seemed the staff didn't really care apart from just playing the CD on repeat. The staff are over attentive at first but as you will notice during the dinner --> the food is rushed and the staff does not give you time to rest between the meals. I was served dessert and tea all together with my rice bowls. This was weird as I felt uneasy. Couldn't really talk about this anomaly as they didn't understand English. (The front office staff do speak some English but the restaurant staff --> almost zero) The place is laden with Koreans guests (I saw maybe 1 Japanese couple, while 2 Korean couples, 1 Korean family, 1 Korean parent/daughter couple, 1 Chinese lady) ... There isn't much to do in the hotel other than go to the simply public bat

Nice ryokan with good service”
The ryokan is clean and the service is excellent. We love the interior design of our room a lot! We also got great greenary view from our room. The dinner and breakfast were served inside our room. We had great privacy during our stay. Would also highly recommend to rest at their lounge to enjoy the great audio equippment and nicely picked jazz music.
