If you book the hotel, book the dinner option. Costed just a little bit more. One of the best dinner that I have eaten in Japan. Luxury and tasty. Like 10 courses. Breakfast was great with Japanese and Western food, coffee, tea, and juice. Very romantic, and very kids friendly hotel at the same time. Best location to view the lake. We rented a bike to go around. Shuttle to train station available: We did not try public bath. I am sure it was good. One of the best stay with food accommodation for me in Japan.

i don't review much on agoda nowadays since there is no POINTS, but for this hotel , i feel oblige to share our amazing experience, its just stunning, #majestic fuji in front of you on every corner, food is delicious, staff is attentive and make sure all your needs is fulfil, originally we book for superior room and ask for agoda wether room with private onsen is available for upgrade, no luck, but on D day, we ask reception, YES, they still have 1 last room with private bath with upgrade fee, OK, we take it. and from just entering the room, its mesmerizing every corner, if you look for the best view in kawaguchi, look for nothing but this hotel, a few tips, hotel provide free shuttle from kawaguchi station to hotel(need to call them), there is taxy at kawaguchi station too, or buy 2 days omni bus pass if you feel want to explore neighbourhood

I am a cheap person so I have never spent more than $120 on a hotel room, ever! Because of this, I was very hesitant when deciding whether I wanted to book at this hotel. Even if it was the cheapest room at this hotel, it was more than twice what I am used to. However, what drew me in were the good reviews, the garden, and the three onsens. Now that I am back home after my 11-day trip all over Japan, I have come to realize that my best experience, best memories, and my most beautiful photos are from Hotel Kaneyamaen! Even though we only spent 1 measly night here, we experienced so many wonderful things. I realized that despite the high price, it was definitely worth it! 1. Free breakfast and dinner. Wow, the dinner was a 2-hour experience with so many courses! 2. Free drum show and game of bingo in the evening. 3. Access to three different onsens. The best one is the one on the roof with a view of Mt. Fuji. 4. The most beautiful garden I have ever walked through. I still have no idea how big this garden is; it kept going and going. We crossed a bridge over a river. We hiked up a hill to viewpoint where you can see Mt. Fuji. I think the garden keeps going, but after spending 2 hours exploring and taking photos, we had to get ready for our dinner reservations. We did return the next morning before checking out, but I saw signs that kept pointing further so I don't even think we saw the entire garden. 5. Free tea ceremony in a beautiful room within the garden. 6. Free sample of some drink in another beautiful room within the garden (sake possibly, but I remember being told it was not alcoholic). 7. Free shuttle pick up and drop off. 8. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. They grabbed our bags/luggage the second we got off the shuttle. One staff guided us to our room and made us sit down while she made us tea. While we sipped on the tea, she gave us a map of the hotel and explained the hours and directions to the onsens, our dinner reservation, etc. It was

This hotel is definitely the best hotel that I have stayed in Japan. I have been to Japan several times with experiencing more than 5 luxury Japanese style hotels. This one is the best! Even though it is expensive, but worth the value. The extremely beautiful garden, the show, the opened and covered three public hot springs and the private in-room one. The food included is very generous portions, and great quality! One day is not enough, I will definitely come back again for another good weekend.

This hotel is located within 10 to 15mins walk from the Kawaguchiko train station which is a central point to travel up to Mt Fuji. The hotel provides complimentary pick up from the train station. This was very convenient and once we arrived there were staff members taking us through to our rooms and giving us a tour around the place. Once we settled down we were left free to explore the facilities. The rooms were very large and spacious and had everything we needed. The private onsen was the best thing in the suite along with the Japanese dinner and breakfast. It was one of the best nights stay we have had in Japan and was a real eye opener to see how the Japanese lived. On the day we left we walked to the nearby Lake Kawaguchi before heading back to the train station.

Stayed here for 3 nights, and it is by far the most enjoyable stay of my 2 weeks in Japan. The view of Mount Fuji was perfect from every room and every area of the hotel (best views from the onsen!) The upkeep of the hotel surroundings provided so many photo opportunities. We were here during the cherry blossom season, and it was so beautiful. A stone throw to a whole lakeside of cherry blossom trees. Food for breakfast and dinner was simply amazing and full of variety. Lady Mori who served us during our stay here was like a friend, and we were tearful to leave. Will definitely choose to stay here again.

My mother and I came here to explore Lake Kawaguchiko and fell in love with this hotel! The staff were absolutely phenomenal! They were always so lovely and welcoming and knew who we were immediately. The hot springs were so lovely and spacious, and high quality too! The meals blew us away completely; there was way too much food for us to eat in the dinner we opted in for but it was worth every cent: the food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented, and I cannot speak highly enough of the overall quality of service. Definitely recommend staying here if you can; the view was lovely, and the staff were more than happy to look after our bags before check in, and organised for the bus to drop us back to the train station free of charge when it was time for us to leave. If you want an incredible experience in your Japan trip, I highly recommend staying here as it was definitely the highlight of our trip.

What a great onsen experience! So relaxing. Great view of lake. I expected to forgo my breakfast due to my gluten intolerance. I arrived after already receiving multiple emails from Agoda saying that they could not give me a gluten free meal, but when I arrived, the staff noticed the Japanese gluten free request I had submitted with my reservation. In their lovely Japanese hospitality, they were able to make an exception and made me a lovely breakfast that did not make me sick. It was so delicious, the best that I've had in Japan so far. I wouldn't say that they are a gluten free hotel, but that they take care of your needs if they can.

It was wonderful to see fuji,san just right outside room window( we booked 2 rooms with Mt. Fuji view) very worth it. Air,con are new and quiet. Basically the room are well equipped with all you might be needed. Kettle, tea set, fridge, hair dryer, safe box.. Etc. we book room with breakfast which is nice. We paid extra ¥3500 each for hotel dinner (big japanese set with sashimi, crab legs, japanese shabu shabu(hot pot)..etc it was delicious). Free pick up from kawaguchiko station (ask tourist info staff to call hotel for pick up)but no transport on the check out date. we had to make our own way back to kawaguchiko station which cost us ¥1540 for around 2 km distance by taxi. We had no choice with big luggages for 4 pax. For other days or if you are light travellers. Fujikyu bus stop is right out side the hotel ¥150 each to /from kawaguchiko station. This is very convenience to get around. We also tried a walk from kawaguchiko station it was less than 30 min on a good weather day. There is a family mart / restaurants / super market situated 7 ,10 min walk from hotel. The hotel area is quiet and peaceful. There are indoor onzen and outdoor onzen separate male/female. 2 min walk to lake side. Hotel roof top has view deck for panorama view of fuji,san and kawaguchiko lake, don't miss it!

Everything was perfect! exactly what we expected from a Japanese ryokan near mt Fuji and more! The hotel provides free shuttle pick up from and to Kawaguchi station everyday from 2 pm to 5 pm. This is very convenient since public transportation there is quite difficult to find and it's just too cold to walk around during winter. The hotel provides free breakfast and dinner with superb (5 star) quality! We had lobster, crab, wagyu beef, wine, tuna, salmon, everything were just a total spoilt. Honestly it was really worth it for the price. The room was big (the biggest out of 5 hotels we stayed in Japan), 1 toilet and 1 bathroom inside the room, window is huge and overlooking lake Kawaguchi, The futon was surprisingly very comfortable (I think they use real silkworm material, it was light but warm). However what we like the most is the onsen! If you're going there as couples you can book the onsen for 30mins for 1500 yen(per couple). They have 5 onsens in the hotel. They also have 2 telescopes you can use at night for stargazing. Oh! and they have a rooftop for sunrise and sunset watch (you can see Mt. Fuji and the lakevery clearly from the top). Everything was just great and those 2 days were the highlight of our trip in Japan.

Nice hotel. warm hospitality. We've got a free ticket to enjoy the Kawaguchiko Winter Fireworks on a boat. It was spectacular. transport: take Green line bus from Kawaguchiko station. hoop off at the #6 stop "八木崎公園 Yagizaki Park " the hotel is right next to the stop. Food: nice and decent dinner. breakfast is so-so. not the top. Spa: highly recommend to try the rooftop hot spring. splendid star view at night.

Next to Lawson Mart (24hr convenience store) opposite to Kawaguchiko Lake, 300m away for Cable to Mt Kachi Kachi. Note: 24hr convenience store is the best after 5pm within Kawaguchiko town. Rated 4 star for facilities.. It is a Onsen theme motel, there's no more other valuable facilities. Also we were there in mid of May, there's no wind in the night and we have to extra request standing fan to keep the room ventilated.

Far from the city center, take Kawaguchiko sightseeing bus and get off at bus stop 17 (music forest), walk forward about 10 mins, when cross the small bridge looking for the "boat house" sign , turn left and walk along the sign into the lake walkway, (no any English sign of Komaya) Komaya is located next to the small pier. It is better to use GPS to get there. Not convienient for large luggage The place is like home-sweet-home feeling, small ryokan with 7 rooms (4 room for Mt.Fuji view and 3 for back yard view) has a superb and private view of Mt fuji which can be seen from the room window or from the ryokan front yard. No restuarant nearby, so if using the bus, bus timetable and proper time management are required. It is good to reserve the meal (2-3 days) in advance by phone. (3240 Yen for dinner and 1100 Yen for breakfast per person : Dec2014 ) 2 bath rooms are available to choose the bath time (1 hr for each guestroom), no bath in the morning, the bath room is very clean as well as the shared restrooms. Value for the money : pay 2-star hotel and get almost 4-star view of Mt Fuji at this lovely homemade style ryokan.

We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful Japanese hotel and will book again if we visit Japan in future. The owners are lovely and were welcoming of us and our 18 month old baby, providing a highchair at breakfast (we had a western breakfast one day and a Japanese breakfast on the second day. The Japanese breakfast was delicious!), and hot water for his bottles as required. The rooms are traditional, warm and comfortable and many of them have a clear view of Mt Fuji. The women's onsen is spacious and very clean, and the men's is small but good. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the kachi kachi ropeway. This might sound long but Kawaguchiko is a very pretty place for a walk and if that's not part of your plan, taxis or the sightseeing bus are readily available.

Ms Kayo and her Husband are super kind, friendly and thoughtful. Room and toilets are extremely clean and flawless! I highly recommend this cosy and lovely hotel! It is a wonderful experience to stay in a traditional hotel like this. Love everything about this hotel, the excellent service, as well as the the beautiful Mt. Fuji view from the hotel/room. I was in Japan for almost 2 weeks and this was by far, the BEST stay i ever had!!

I adored my stay in this traditional guest house. I seriously cannot believe some reviewers who have clearly not done any research. If you need mod cons and are the kind of person who is going to complain about a few stains on the carpet or wallpaper go to a modern western hotel. However if you want to experience old-fashioned Japanese hospitality, stay here. Breakfast was off the scale amazing, I travel in Japan frequently and this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My only critiscism was that I would have liked a more comfortable pillow, but this was a magical stay for me.

Overall is great. I really love my room. They provide shuttle service to Kawaguchi station. They can drive to nearby bicycle rental service.I rent a bicycle from noon til 6pm for 500yen. The breakfast is 1500 yen but you can try authentic japan countryside food.Very tasty. You can view Mt.Fuji from upstairs balcony. Ask them about heater when you check-in if the weather chilly.

The stuff, a man that i supposed is one of the bosses of this special hotel, took me a my friends two free rides. One is the pick up service from the station to the hotel. For another one, at first, we would like to call taxi, but he said he can help us. We feel so thankful about it. As you know, it can be very expensive to take a taxi in the outer town area in Japan. For these two free rides, i think they can costed more than 5000 yen. Out of these, The staff (the man and a old lady) are soooo friendly although they don't speak very good English but they will help you as much as they can. This is the first time i tried to stay in a Japanese style hotel. I think it is really a good experience that i would like to try it once again. So glad that I have been there. : )

The facilities are good and the location is alright. But no matter how that stuff might be, the couple managing the place is fantastic. They give every customer their complete attention, going out of their way to help you in ways that you wouldn’t even think to ask. They were so warm and welcoming we felt as though we were being invited into a family. This was our favourite place to stay in all of Japan and we’ve been to countless places. Unforgettable.
