Best hotels & accommodations in Tokyo

We were only there for one night but I will definitely return. It was well situated and afforded easy access to the city. A fabulous location if you're intending on heading to Tsukiji Fish Market as the hotel is on the Hibiya line! The hotel is new (it has only open for 6 months I believe), clean and very comfortable for a city hotel. As someone who lives in Japan, it ...

Great find in Tokyo's old town. 2 mins walk from the metro station and under 10 mins walk to the temple. The room, although small (but bigger than a lot of Tokyo hotel rooms), was clean and traditionally decorated: tatami mats etc. The staff were really friendly and gave excellent recommendations for bars and restaurants nearby. The breakfast, although simple, made for...

Stayed here with 2 friends from 18th to 20th Jan 2017. Got upgraded to a bigger room. Cause from the pictures i saw at Agoda website the room we've booked was smaller than this. Good location(near JR line), friendly staff, value for money...what more could we ask for? :) All in all i like this place and would recommend my friends to stay here and also i would stay here...

The stay was even better than expected! The hotel is brand new we were the first people, who could sleep there. The staff was incredibly friendly with their traditional japanese clothing even if their English is not the best. But we also met the owner, who has good English skills and is a very nice guy. The best part at this hotel are the traditional rooms with futon b...

We were a couple, students from Australia, travelling on a bit of a budget but we decided to spend a few nights here at the start of our week in Tokyo so that we could stay in a traditional room. The girl at the front desk was super lovely, spoke english, and organised a last-minute breakfast for us for the morning after we arrived. On first entering the room we though...

I really loved this hotel. The room was in Japanese style, with futon and low table (though astoundingly large for a Tokyo hotel room!), but with an en-suite western-style bathroom - and fast in-room wifi. The location is fantastic: in gentle Asakusa, two minutes from the Sensoji temple complex and Nakamise Dori, but also right around busy urban streets. And only about...

First time in Tokyo and loved the idea of staying in a Ryokan. Ikebukuro district was great for restaurants open late and a younger crowd. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the JR train station. We used the Yamanoto line to get everywhere in Tokyo. Most of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean but had a strange smell to it. Would still rec...

Staying at this Ryokan was amazing. Reminiscent of beautiful older homes in Japan with many beautiful features. Our room was so large and comfortable, the wifi and air conditioning worked well, the beds were comfortable. We had an excellent traditional breakfast on the day we were flying out. It is an older house so there is some wear to the building which I find c...

I live the traditional Japan style house and room. My kids were very exciting as it looks like the house in Doraemon. It takes 15 mins from JR station and 5 mins from Metro station. The price is reasonable. It was a very good traveling experience. Highly recommend who likes Japanese style room.

this was my first time visiting japan and i asked a friend who had visited previously if he could recommend a ryokan for me as i was keen to stay in a traditional japanese hotel. my friend recommended the ryokan kamogawa in the asakusa region of tokyo, as he had stayed there previously on his travels. i am very pleased with his suggestion, as i had a fantastic stay....

the stay at Andon Ryokan was superb! the rooms were really clean and cosy and even though it's a shared bathroom, the toilets were really clean as well. when we just arrived to check in we were warmly welcomed with hot tea, towel and some sweet snacks (this is definitely a plus as we travelled in april and the weather was super cold!). the hotel also provides a variety...

We stayed at Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou Hotel for four nights and really enjoyed it. While our room was on the small side and not the cleanest, it was very affordable and the staff were particularly helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is in the Asakusa area which has a number of interesting sites and the nearby metro stations make it easy to travel to other ar...

Close to Sendagi Sta. (Tokyo Metro) + Yanaka Ginza and a good walk to Nippori Sta. (JR & Keisei for Narita) + Nezu Shrine, Annex Katsutaro Ryokan is an affordable ryokan room experience and a great alternative to hostel dorm rooms and capsule hotels for solo travelers. This is my second trip to Tokyo and my sleep was so much better this time. Even though it’s further n...

Pros: Very close to train stations mainly the Yamanote line which goes into Shibuya, harajuku, Shinjuku. At the same station you can take the connecting line to the asakusa Line which can take you to the tsukiji market or haneda airport. Staff is very friendly and nice. Cons: close to the stations so you can hear trains at night although it's not too loud. Shared showe...

This place is one of the considerable choice for the backpackers who are looking for good price, location and spending night life in Tokyo. I think for the place where it is located, you can walk just only 1 km to Shibuya train station and also shopping around one of the best in Town shopping center, Shibuya. Moreover, for people who need to spend night life and make ...

Tama Ryokan is a sweet little place with a good location. The owners are kind, helpful and good natured. In the midst of all of the concrete, it was fun to stay in an older building with character. The price is great for the location. It is an older building and the walls are thin. I found it charming and true to Japanese living, others might find it inconvenient. Note...

My 2 night stay at Tadaima was one of the best experiences in my 2 week trip across Japan. It's located in an older part of Tokyo, which encompasses 300 bars and restaurants. The place itself is very quaint and very clean, both of which I appreciate. But what I'll remember most is the staff. Shinji is a terrific host, always happy to answer any question I had about the...

We really enjoyed our 2 nights stay. Love the feel of traditional Japanese home/ryokan, the tatami room, the futon, everything! And Satoshi-san was very nice to us. Superb location to train stations (big thumbs up to Tsukuba Express!), konbini/Family Mart are all very near to Taito Ryokan. For Muslim travellers, Origami restaurant, Naritaya ramen, Sekai Cafe & little ...

I had only booked one night at this hotel and wished that I had stayed here for my entire trip to Tokyo. The location and value of the hotel cannot be beaten. It's only a 5 minute walk from JR Shinjuku station and walking distance to all the different attractions in Shinjuku. Furthermore, the staff was extremely nice and allowed me to store my gigantic suitcase at thei...

This place is about 10 minutes walk from JR Koiwa station. Koiwa is outside the main Tokyo loop, so do factor that in - you are not going to be living in a tourist hub of any sort. The ryokan itself is fabulous, run by an old couple who are always available for any help. The rooms are immaculate, and the fixtures are sparkling clean and look very new. A couple of stand...

I really enjoyed my stay! :) A great deal for budget travellers. 1. The Host He is super friendly, helpful and caring! The best host I've ever met in Japan. :) He speaks fluent English, explains everything well when you check in, and is helpful if you have any questions! He even helped me carry my bulky luggage to the station when I left! I'm gonna miss the host for...

Traveler impressions of Tokyo
i wasn't really attracted by Tokyo, people in there seems under huge pressure and all the places are tiny.
Tokyo has been one of my favourite cities around the world. Fashion there is really updated and modern.
Great Shopping at low currency at the moments, excellent services from most restaurants with great food.
Pros: - No haggling - Japanese are always straight to the point - They mind their own business - I personally thinks that Tokyo is a very safe place to visit - Clean - Easy to travel around with Bus / Public Transport - IC Card is very convenient Cons: - We really think that they can include more benches for tourists - Having hard time locating restroom / toilet in public area especially if you're foreigner who doesn't speak Japanese - My personal opinion, most Japanese shows their frown expressions and aren't very helpful or friendly if you are a foreigner and has no benefits or becoming their potential client.
Tokyo is an excellent city to visit. 5 days, at least, is recommended for staying here for the first time
Tokyo is an excellent city to visit. 5 days, at least, is recommended for staying here for the first time.
I loved this city. So much to do, and with the bullet train it is easy to get out and see more of Japan from this central hub.
I like to transportation systems especially Subways and Train that link and cover all areas even a bit confused in first time but I finally understand from day 2.
Tokyo is a vibrant city with around 13 million of residents. Having an application that could translate any languages to Japanese language is a must as most of the local peoples having a very limited English conversation.
Great city so you have to make your traveling day more than 5 days in order to explore all the attractions and spots.
Tokyo is a lovely place to visit. There are loads of things to do in Tokyo; sigthseeing, food, amusement (Disneyland) and parks etc.
If you have more time, you should spend a couple of days to take short tours to outside Tokyo like Izu, Atami, Karuizawa, Nagano, etc.
One of the best cities in the world I have visited. Great food and nice and cool weather during after October until March where you can occasionally get to see snow in the beginning of the year.
Must try foods: Chanko Nabe (Sumo Hotpot) - incredibly delicious, unexpected gem Okonomiyaki Izakaya foods - meat skewers Sushi and Sashimi - incredibly fresh and tasty Over-rated foods: Ramen - most we had weren't all that spectacular; almost similar to the ones at ramen champion in Singapore
I can never get enough of Tokyo. I will usually visit (and re visit) the 7 main areas: Shibuya, Harajuku (including Meiji Shrine), Omote-sando (in one day); Shinjuku (it merits a day by itself); Osiage, Asakusa Shrine and Sumida River cruise ending at Ginza.
As a capital city of Ja[an, Tokyo is most popolous metropolis. Unlimited choice of shopping, entertainment, culture and dining.
Amazing city, bustling with life no matter day or not. Every station in Tokyo is like a whole different world.
I like Tokyo for shopping and dining. I bought nice coats, cosmetics and chocolates. I like so much.
Lovely country. Lovely people. They are so polite and I fall in love with japan. Awesome country indeed! I will surely come again!
Tokyo is a very clean and friendly city. It's easy to go around as the transport system is very efficient.
Great City To Travel. The people are very friendly and helpful indeed. Well connected by train, underground train and high speed train
Tokyo is one of the most famous cities in the world and it is a metropolitan city. It is very clean and vibrant, filled with all the Japanese passions.
Very bit, modern, clean and safe. Plenty to see and do, subways excellent and reasonable price. Surprisingly, Tourists can get by with basic English.
good for family vacations. good food! some of the inhabitant don't really mind tourist that visit their country.
Plan your trips and places you want to visit. Purchase the card which you can use for riding the trains and buses.
I have been to Tokyo numerous times and it is one place that I always look forward to returning. Food is great whether it's a small ramen shop or a more upmarket teppanyaki dinner as the quality of food is always consistently good.
Sushi is great!! fresh and good quality.. Onsen is good, help me to reduce my leg paint after long day walk.
Is a polite people's and good city to most visit, clean city and have a good transportation system provide, goods services provided.
