Located near Pham Ngu Lao, the Marvel Hostel is a very affordable option for those who wish to stay in Ho Chi Minh for couple of days. Those who enjoy nightlife might find it convenient: bars and clubs are nearby. For those looking more peaceful environment, i might recommend more other places. I had a good sleep on 4th floor dorm, but perhaps it could be noisier if i lived at lower floors. The shower section could have been improved - maybe getting rid of stains of the wall, improving showers and modifying sinks. The staff is very helpful, there is a bar downstairs.

Best Hostel near Bui Vien”
Spacious Beds in Dorm with curtain and functioning charging point + private light. Lockers are big enough to accommodate 2 medium suitcases. Tall people might find Washrooms and Toilets a bit too small but nevertheless can manage. Washrooms are cleaned everyday . They have a Bar + restaurant downstairs which serves nice food

Just near the main hub of the city”
The location is great. The bus stand is just 2min walking distance. Though the staff dnt understand english but there is one guy there who helps guests as he understand english. There are total 4 floors except the 1st floor in all the floors there are washrooms. Basically not all who stays here are tourists some are like locals who may be came to look for some work in the city this is my assumtion. The best part is Air Con is 24hrs. They have big locker where one can put backpack as well. Also they dnt charge more for taking payment by card.

It's kinda hard to find even when you're standing in front of it. The staff didn't know how to check me in from an Agoda booking. I booked a female dorm but, when I got there, he said they were all booked so he put me in a mixed dorm. And there's no elevator, so coming in at 1am and having to climb 6 flights of stairs wasn't appreciated. There is a bar downstairs and you get a free (or maybe a % off) beer and a decent breakfast is included. The staff were nice, just a little clueless.

Its an weird Hostel. I think i've been the only Backpacker there.. Can't recommend it at all but was not that bad. Do yourself an favor and book an better one.

I stayed here for 2 nights. Place was very dirty. Including toilets . The staff was also impolite and lied about breakfast as he wants no one to have. He said breakfast is at morning 7 only

If you are from a first world country then I strongly recommend that you stay away. The actual condition of this hostel is quite different from the pictures. It is VERY dirty. The shower and toilets are disgusting. The dorms rooms have zero ventilation and the sheets are covered with dust and human hair. The floor is filthy. The staff speak very little English and seem totally clueless. Please avoid at all costs.

AWFUL - AVOID AT ALL COSTS”
We arrived as an Agoda booking and they could not locate our booking even though we could clearly see it on their computer. They tried to make us pay again in cash despite already having paid via Agoda and having a reciept. After arguing this, we were shown to our hovel of a room. The beds had not been cleaned and were covered in hair, rubbish and stains. My partners bed had a used razor head left on it. The floor was filthy and the bathrooms were barely usable. We left after an hour and another guest in the dorm also decided to leave after talking. This place was disgusting, don’t waste your money and stay clear.

Amazing stay”
I'm very happy I stayed at Marvel. It's perfectly situated in the backpackers area. The accommodation is clean, air con works perfectly, bathroom all new. I met amazing people here and had so much fun just drinking and dancing at Marvel with them, and the staff is super helpful and friendly (and they speak a perfect English). You have to try the Bun Cha there, I had it in restaurants around the neighbourhood and still preferred the one in the hostel. Thank you guys for this week and keep up the good vibes!

There is ample space to safely store your luggage under the beds. And if you need to store your luggage temporarily upon check-out, the area near the counter is a safe place. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a bar/restaurant at the 1st floor which offers one complimentary drink for every night of stay. They also give discount for food orders for people staying in the hostel. The hostel is conveniently located near Phạm Ngũ Lão Street where most backpacker hostels are. Showers and toilets are only located at the 3rd and 4th floor. Those who stay in the 2nd floor will have to climb up a floor to get to the showers. Air conditioning is not strong enough to reach the corner beds of the room. Thus, the bunks are quite warm especially with the curtain. Also, the air conditioning is turned off during daytime. The upper bunks are too high and it is quite difficult to climb up the ladder to get to the upper bed.

The location is good. The bus terminal is near, it is easy to eat something, there is a bar on the ground of the hostel, but not noisy. The room is clean and no problem.

i have filled out the special request box ( check-in around 2am in the next day and would like to have lower bed ) when i booked this hostel. However, when i was there around 2am, the rolling door was closed and there was no bell. I have to knock the door twice hardly to inform the receptionist. After checking my reservation receipt, he informed me that he has to keep my passport until i check out as there is no photocopier. I felt a bit annoyed but i had to give him my passport. When i was in the room and i realised that my bed was upper, not lower as my request although there were many vacant beds in the room. Toilets are quite small. I wanted to check out late ( around 7 pm ) and the owner informed me that he would charge me half day price. I paid 2 nights via agoda is 12usd and he wanted to charge me 100.000k ( 4.5 usd ) for a half day, it was so ridiculous.... Pros: Good location, cheap price Cons: toilet is quite small, does not care about your special request....
