The establishment offers parking but on the day we arrived (around 3pm)the proprietor and his wife had their vehicles parked in the guest parking despite having a double garage. This meant double parking and shuffling. While the proprietor was relatively friendly at check-in, he made it clear that he did not want to hear from us again until breakfast. This was 8 - 9am - a pretty narrow window, we thought. The room was very shabby and old-fashioned and the tiny, tiny bathroom was horrid! The toilet was difficult to flush and the shower area so small and nasty that i couldn't face it. Breakfast was a mean affair and clearly they were doing you a favour. Nasty canned fruit and some tired grapes followed by 'egg' (singular) with a few mean serves of the usual if you really needed it. We overheard raised voices between husband and wife - she was cooking breakfast and he was yelling at her. She was clearly agrophobic and ran for cover if she saw a guest. We also overheard this in the middle of breakfast to a guest who was obviously checking out -" If you plan to pay by credit card, can you do it now because I'm going for my walk soon and my wife doesn't like doing it." If this isn't enough to put you off, don't order the 'potato cake'. Not sure what it is but don't think a potato had been near it.
