Actually i didn't expect to enjoy it much but it was really such a beautiful place in Yufuin. The hosts are really kind and the breakfast of this place was really simple and good. The view of scenery is really perfect. The mountain shows amazing views. The sauna was really perfect to relax our body. The most important thing is the price is very reasonable to enjoy something like wearing yukata, enjoying sauna and going somewhere to sightseeing.

We absolutely had a great time and enjoyed a lot in this lovely place! Nice and clean places and the hosts are very friendly! Although we do not have private toilet, but the public toilets are just out of our rooms, and we do have a sink in our room which is good enough. The room is big and the view is superb! We do enjoyed the outdoor hotspring which is very nice and private! And we also had a nice japanese breakfast with a perfect view! We love this place a lot :)

Highlight of my trip to Kyushu! I never wanted to leave! ”
It was my first time staying in a Ryokan and Sansoh Tanaka did not disappoint. In fact, it greatly exceed my expectations! The inn is approximately 7 minutes away from the Yufuin station by foot. You wouldn't mind the short walk as the town is so beautiful. Staff was immensely accommodating and overly thoughtful. They put utmost care into everything they do for their guests. We arrived in Yufuin 2 hours before check-in and decided to drop our stuff off at Sansoh Tanaka. We were warmly welcomed by the proprietor and proprietress. They allowed us to drop off our things and even let us borrow their bikes before we even checked in! They also give us a detailed map of the area with recommendations on where to eat and the scenic routes to take. Room was clean and huge-- we didn't expect such a big room for 2 people! Also, the VIEW is priceless! I loved waking up to the twin peaks of Yufudake. Toilets were always clean. The inn also has a microwave and refrigerator should you wish to heat up your food and chill your highballs. The onsens were wonderful! Such a great experience! Lastly, the breakfast was delicious!!! I believe they grow their own vegetables which made for an unforgettable meal. I loved everything about Sansoh Tanaka! The place is highly recommended! I wish I could stay there forever!

very Quiet, very Clean, very Cozy, very Hot in old-traditional Japanese house.”
It is super very amazingly quiet place, because this hotel does not accept people with child or children. There are three private spas that even 4-6 people can get in. one is outdoor spa, and two are indoor spa. (outdoor one is smaller than indoor one.) It seems that there are (maybe) 8 rooms in this hotel. So if you check in this hotel early, you can use spa as much as you want. If you are a talkative or active person, I would say that you should avoid this hotel. Though, If you like quiet or want to enjoy silency and calm atmosphere, I strongly recommend this place. The outside view was amazing. you can see full view of yufuin mountain.

About 15-20 minutes from station with great view of mountains but if you have many luggages I suggest taking a taxi because of difficult track. There are 2 in-door onsens and 1 out-door onsen with surrounded nature. Great service with very clean rooms. There are bicycles for free ride around the town.

Quiet and nice place to stay”
Ryokan's location is about 15-min walikng distance so It is some bothering to get there with carrier. The room is clean enough. Spa is very good for relaxation after whole day sightseeing. A small wish for host is to change the towels at Spa with new one. Most of them make debri or fine towel dust when clean the water from the body. It could be why it worn. The breakfast is full and delicious. But I was sorry to bite something like a piece of shell cover or sand from clam in soup. So quiet property.

Though not exactly in the centre of the town, it is however within walking distance to major points of attraction, supermarket and restaurants. We had a good two days of stay, enjoying particularly the peaceful and tranquil countryside and the Japanese hospitality.
