The resort is beautiful, food is good, enjoyed the entertainment and staff were attentive. Check in process was unorganized and time consuming. Bathroom needs new grouting and had to ask housekeeping to spray bleach.

This resort was beautiful. The staff was amazing and the food was great as well. The jerk chicken truck is a life saver once all the restaurants are closed. Our room did have a slight mildew smell but the staff did do their best to make sure that the room was cleaned throughly.

My stay at Secrets St. James”
Great location and good entertainment by energetic performers. Decent drinks only at the Piano Bar in the evening. Mediocre dinner in terms of variety and taste. The food at Bordeaux was awful. Breakfast options are great. What I liked best were the strolling jerk chicken carts, the patties at the barefoot grill and the coconut cart. Takes too long to check in.

We had an amazing time, but it was obvious there was some neglect around the resort. Beach servers were super hard to come by, you have to ask for your minibar to be restocked, and they don't provide wine and liquor in the room as most other all-inclusives do. That said, the staff is friendly, the pool and beaches are very nice, and the atmosphere is super relaxing. I would recommend it, but manage your expectations if you've been to other all-inclusive resorts.

NOT COVID SAFE”
The hotel is nice but it is not COVID safe. I caught COVID while I was there. They do not take precautions such as requiring a negative COVID test result, making masks mandatory, or cleaning the beach/pool chairs frequently. Some staff members were rude. Last, I don't believe the comforter on my bed was clean upon arrival as it had some stains on it.

Food: hit or miss. Bordeaux and restaurants at Breathless were great. Breakfast buffet - a disaster. Very slow, while staff wears masks, most guests don't. So, you get the worst of both worlds - it's not really safe, the food isn't good, and this isn't really a buffet, but there is not real a la carte service. Room service: you get food in boxes. As if you ordered local takeout. Not the service you'd expect from a luxury resort. Attentiveness: staff left a rotting cheese plate in our room for 4 days. Just an example. Safety/COVID-19: pretty much no mask enforcement for guests. Crowded parties inside and outside. Crowded breakfast buffet. Many guests don't even think about wearing masks in the elevators. Other: while there are signs prohibiting the consumption of cannabis on the property, you can smell it everywhere. day and night. very unfortunate. Beach: nice, almost no waves, warm. a bit too much vegetation, but it's beautiful.

We expect better for the price ”
Customer service was great. We had an ocean view room but smelled of sewage water. It started the. Second day of our 6 day stay. They could not move us because their was no rooms available (sold out). Also the portions of food, be sure to get extra. The hotel it self is old and needs a lot of work. From the showers to the doors to the walls even the out side balcony. Would not go back.

Disappointing 5 night stay”
Not a good first impression of Jamaica and don’t plan on coming back. After much insistence, our room was barely cleaned ONCE during a 5 night stay. No additional towels ever offered. 24hr room service is a fiasco! Any room order took about three hours to arrive. The resort restaurants were just okay and food was mediocre. Some entertainment available at night, but no live music or DJ at pools during the day. Overall, compared to other islands I have been, this one was the least impressive.

Worst Check-in process ever! Took us 3-4 hours to get our room upon arrival”
Nice restaurants on site but front desk staff is the worst. They allowed us to wait 3 hours to check-in and did't provide us any accommodations as a result. Additionally our suite room door wouldn't lock properly so if someone wanted they could just walk right into our room. Waited to get the door fixed once and then the next day the door did the same thing. I complained but the hotel said it was nothing they could do since I booked through a 3rd party site😡. This was the finally straw! So Jamaica was really fun for us but this resort made things really difficult for us while on vacation. If you dont mind being inconvenienced while on vacation then this will be a great resort to stay at.

Nice result with friendly staff. Food is subpar! We would have enjoyed more authentic Caribbean food! Cleanliness was about a three half star out of five. Our room had a jacuzzi and we had to re-clean it because it was a lot of areas missed. Drinks were great! I had my share of Rum punch and Bob Marleys.
