Perfectly good for overnight ”

Let’s face it, you haven’t come to holiday in Lao Bao. But here is fine as a transit place. Good and busy cafe sua place, also a Viettel shop right opposite to get you fixed up with a SIM card.

Fairly standard frontier hotel”

Close to border, good wifi

Unsurprisingly rough around the edges given the rare instances that people might go on holiday to a border crossing, but liveable all the same! It's a bit overpriced in my view but convenient. Welcoming staff and friendly hotel restaurant was fun and produced a good meal. Good rest stop before/after a border trip with a decent wifi connection. Border crossing to Laos was walkable without too much effort, although on reflection it would be a minimal expense to pay a motorbike and make it easier.

Past it's prime”

This is a hotel well past its prime. Nothing has been spent on maintenance for years. It was empty when we were there, understaffed and the restaurant was closed. The toilet leaked, there were cigarette burns on the bed-linen and it wasn't particularly clean. Avoid!

Budget Hotel - provided everything expected”

budget hotel, cheap price, value for money

Sepon Hotel is a budget hotel and as such provided everything that you would expect for the price you pay. The room was clean, had a comfortable bed with an en-suite, hot shower and air-con. No luxuries or extras but they did have wifi. I would stay again, it was certainly OK.
