Mid week stay”
Stayed two nights at the Shard and only disappointment was we were not staying longer. Location was perfect, staff were great and very welcoming. And to top it off the food was brilliant, especially the morning breakfast bacon.

Overnight Stay”
Safe environment, safety practices in place, friendly staff, spotless bedroom, comfortable bed, lovely evening meal, would recommend.

Good hotel/restaurant with amazing views. ”
I have been to the Shard a couple of times. Reasonable room rates, with a decent breakfast included in price. As a solo traveller, I received a single room with a single bed, but of adequate size. Comfortable enough, but I think that the mattress could do with changing as I thought it a bit lumpy. Views from the window were amazing as overlooking the river Wyre. The room could do with a light switch or light over the bed, as need to turn off light by the door and stumble your way to the bed. Nice and quiet there, though. Staff were alright, but not that welcoming I thought.

So close and yet so far”
Check-in and check out reception staff, superb. Young lady behind the bar, superb. Older woman who dealt with table bookings arrogant (resented being given a meal order) and unhelpful (was told to take my own condiments and was not even given a knife/fork. Evening meal I had (Fish & Chips) was awful with the fish absolutely swimming in oil, had to remove the batter as it was inedible, although the hand cut chips and peas were good.Full English breakfast though was very good. Room was large, clean and the bed comfortable, although with the room so large the TV was too small to comfortably watch from the bed. Lovely big shower in the bathroom. The room though was ROASTING hot, although it being over 25 deg C radiators were still on. Even turning them off and the window fully open (with blind open) it was still uncomfortably hot and slept as best I could, on top of the bed. Window was immediately over the car park and so (with the window open) was too noisy with people/cars coming and going, as well as people chatting. Was not a restful stay due to the heat and the noise.
