The best price/quality with great service”
We lived several weeks at Shelburne and as experienced traveler I can say that this hotel is a gem with an "old school" service that hard to find these days - special thanks to Solomon and Ron. Hotel is great for families with kids, it has in en-suite kitchenette, self service laundry washer and dryer, and a great personnel .

Great Hotel & Location!”
I needed a place to fit my family of 6. We ended up in the "Penthouse Suite" which was a 2 Bedroom Apartment! It was huge! Walking distance to Bryant Park & Rockefeller Center. Highly Recommend this hotel!

Nice one night stay.”
Pros: The room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Cons: Check in time was 3pm. I got there at 2:30pm and waited in the lobby until 3pm. They said my room wasn't ready yet. It was after 4pm when they were able to get me in my room. The Pros outweigh the Cons. Very nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Exceptional”
Hotel was really cute. Im not sure if it was because of new years eve but waiting for an empty elevator was pretty annoying. Room was clean. My favorite thing was the roof top go to the 16th floor and you can take the cutest pictures with the empire state behind you. They give you a $10 credit at their mini bar but a water is $9.80 so don’t expect to use that $10 on a few things. Lol overall a good experience

Solid bet”
Very good quality for the price. Clean, very good location - convenient to Grand Central. Great location in Murray Hill, which is much quieter than other parts of midtown. Hotel itself was quiet and staff met my request for an interior room to avoid traffic noise.

Feels homely and central location to famous NY sites”
Hotel feels homely, large room and big HD TV. Central location, near grand central and walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller, Bryant Park, Macy's.... and many good restaurants around! My wife and I have made fond memories of NY and a good stay here. Will be back!

Good one bedroom in more relaxed neighborhood of NYC, but still close enough”
Pros: Super friendly staff Cons: The doors slam shut with loud noise so you can hear neighboring guests coming and going early morning and late evening / night.

Good value and location, but mandatory facilities fee was annoying”
For NYC, the hotel offers relatively good value for money, but upon arrival, I learned that I had to pay an additional $41USD per night facilities fee for facilities that I had no time to use. If it did not charge the facilities fee, then I would definitely stay there again and also highly recommend it.

Clean, (mostly) Quiet and Good Value”
A nice spot with newly renovated clean rooms. Good midtown location. Only downside were the two small elevators - it was tight and I couldn't seem to take the stairs up, only down (which I did each time)

Confusing billing, did not release my hold, $35 hotel fee uncalled for ”
1. Was told that billing is going done before I check in, turns out it isn't. I even clarified over an email with their front desk manager and got a reply saying that it will be done two days before. 2. Lady who checked me in handled my deposit and hold in a very complicated manner. Told her that I would like to make payment upfront in order to avoid any issues with credit card limit when I checked out and she refused to do so. Instead, she took a $1000 hold on my card. 3. Another lady at concierge was rude as well, when I asked for a kettle to be placed in my room. 4. Thankfully, another male staff helped to reorganise my billing and I was told that with up front payment, my $1000 hold has been released. One week later, and it still hasn't been released. 5. When I checked out, front desk staff told me that the hold was actually $250 and it will be released. 6. I was not aware of complimentary hotel facilities that I am entitled to, despite paying the ridiculous amount of $35/day

Birthday Trip to NYC”
Our stay was good. Nothing over the top and slightly disappointing for the price paid (over $700 USD for 2 nights). One of the elevators smelled awful and was clearly being worked on- probably should have been out of service. The staff was nice. I did find out later that my work had called the hotel to set up wine and a note in my room for my birthday and it was never delivered. That's a big bummer and not a great reflection on the staff. I worked in the hospitality industry for many years and would feel terrible if that happened. I'm hoping they reimbursed my boss for whatever she set up because it was never received. We dined at the attached restaurant for dinner and it was sub-par, not terrible and not great. The room was nice but had 3 HUGE moths in it that we had to kill- kind of gross. Also, one of the main lights in the room flickered like we were at a disco party so we just kept it off which made the room pretty dim during our entire stay.

Nice hotel, good location”
The hotel was nicely presented, good size rooms and staff very helpful throughout out stay. We found it a good location for us to walk most of the city, with a 10 minute walk to Grand Central Station when we needed to use the subway.
