Old building and rooms but well-maintained and clean. A little but of musty/dustiness but not really off-putting. The hallway outside was scorcing hot in the autumn afternoon sun, like a greenhouse. Would have been great if their pool and poolside cafe were open -- something about a seaside resort hotel with no place to get a cup of coffee and read book. At least there were options near the station -- a ~15 minute bus ride away -- and a few restaurants within walking distance. Just mind the weather! Oh, and the onsen area was nice, but sadly the glare from the indoor nights keeps you from enjoying any kind of view out the bath window after dark. Would have been sweet if they at a routenburo.

Despite the rain it was still fun to walk on the beach which was right outside the hotel. My room had a lovely view of the water. The music of the waves put me to sleep every night! The staff did their very best to make my stay enjoyable.

Perfect Location, Very Good Value”
It's right on the beach, steps away from the main Shirahama beach. We've stayed here before and come back because of the value and convenience. The staff was especially wonderful this time. They greeted us at the door, helpful with bags, directions and even local recommendations. We will definitely return the next time we head that way.

Perfect Sunrise view”
Since each of the room is facing the sea towards east, you get to sunrise on the pacific ocean. The room was OK, but a bit old. They are doing a phased renovation of the rooms though. The Buffet breakfast was great. They don't provide water at room, which is quite disappointing for a hotel of this category. Strongly recommend going there by car, as all stores/restarants are far from it.

Because of reduced seating (Corona/Covid) there was no space for breakfast. They ought to have provided a facility to have breakfast in one's room. This was bad. But everything else about the hotel was very nice

Great ocean view room!”
Gorgeous view from the balcony, accessible from Tokyo by train. We were able to watch the sunrise from the public bath (onsen). There is a beach right behind the hotel and they have parasol etc for rent. The pool is small and is more useful for families with kids, not adult visitors. The restaurant wasn't too good and a bit overpriced, I would recommend eating out by the IzukyuShimoda station.

The location of hotel we great for our 2 day family stay. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t check in early and had to wait about an hour for check in time (3pm) but few mins later they walked back up and said our room was ready. The hallway was very humid and being in last room down hall was a hike. Recommend asking for room closer to elevators. The beds are very hard. If lucky to have room with futon it is a better sleep. Beach is a walk out of hotel. Convenient. Would have like for deck outside to be in better condition for sun bathing. Price was decent for stay. Would stay again

The location is good, the hotel is a little old but clean and nice staff. I went on autumn season so there’s was only one restaurant open in the hotel.

The location is great. Right on the beach. A short walk also to Shirahama beach. The seaview was really nice. The room was spacious. The bed was a bit hard. Bathroom was fine. Really nice sushi restaurant in the hotel with very good staff.

Pros - Sea view from hotel is awesome, you can see sun rise from hotel room. Shirahama beach is 12 minutes walk. However you can enjoy at private beach of hotel. Sea view onsen is good. Cons - Breakfast is quite expensive especially for Vegan. No complementary water provided in rooms.

Magnificent view but not Flexible In Facilities”
Pros- 1.The view from our room (5F)was super awesome and worth the stay. Note that the room type ' Sea view' as mentioned on Agoda is termed 'Twin Room A' on hotel website. 2.Onsen with ocean view was too good. 3.Room size was good. Cons- 1.Atleast 2 bottles of water should have been provided in the room. No common microwave oven available in such a big property! 2.No information was provided of pick & drop service from Shimoda station before hand. 3.Not the best choice,if you don't have your own private vehicle. 4.In short, for every small thing,they had charges and No flexibility at all(example - 2000 yen if checkout is 1 hour later)

Beautiful sea view !”
All the rooms seem to be sea view and there is a lovely view of the beach from the rooms. The beach is in front of the hotel and its like a private beach. The hotel seems to be little old but very comfortable. I am coffee person and they did not have coffee in the room . Only Japanese tea. There was not even a bottle of water in the room at least as a welcome drink. The staff was polite but if you ask them any question, they each will have a different opinion and advice which was very annoying. Was not sure what to believe. The staff needed to be trained to be in one mind. However, If you are a beach loving person like me, this hotel in highly recommended. The white sandy beaches are very beautiful. I will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Location is best. You can get clear view of sea from room balcony . Beach is very nearby and its kind of private beach to this hotel because only hotel people come here and all other will go to sirahama beach.
