Excellent outdoor onsen”

We were there in mid April and I guess because it was low season, we had both of the female outdoor onsen and mix bath onsen to ourself! We were also able to book one of the two private onsens to ourself during the night which, with the sound of the water stream, was very therapeutic. Highly recommend this place. Great onsens and excellent service.

Beautiful place”

We loved the view and the staff were very friendly. Baths were nice and beds were comfortable. Limited facilities on site though, and although dinner was yummy we felt a little trapped by the steep price since there weren't any other options.

Excellent”

The hotel is located near Ropeway station. Owner can give you a ride upon request. The staffs are friendly. Although they speak little English, they are patience and will try to help your request. Dinner is surprisingly good!! I definitely recommend traveller to include dinner and breakfast with the hotel booking as there is no convenient store near the hotel. The shops and restaurants at Ropeway station closed rather early. The hotel have indoor, outdoor shared Onsen (male, female and mixed). There is also 2 private Onsen that can be reserved upon check in. You have to walk a distance (cross the bridge) to the private Onsen. As it is located right next to a river and surrounded by mountains, the view is breathtaking (Especially during Winter) The room does not come with bathroom. There is a shared toilet and bathroom.

The outdoor onsen has a billion dollar view overlooking the valley and river. I was lucky that the valley was covered by snow after an overnight snow shower. Great food and value for money.

Fantastic Outdoor Real Hot Spring Onsens, Friendly Staff and Great Food”

When you book this wonderful place, please book for including meals. It is really a nice place to unwind and recharge yourself. They have 3 public outdoor onsens (male only/female only/ mixed) and 3 private outdoor onsens (2 pools/1 pool). After trying so many onsens in Japan, this is the most authentic spring water and in a beautiful setting. You can use them anytime you wish, open 24 hours except for the private onsens which require you to book for certain timing of the day. The food served in their set meal is as authentic as its inviting spring waters. Very safe location although it is quiet. We had onsens in the mid of nights too. Regretted such a short stay there. We will return soon! Sinhotake Ropeway is a stone throw away. Resort can be reached by the green bus and the ropeway is 1 stop after it. You may opt to buy the 3 days pass with entrance to Ropeway from the bus station. There is a 1 & 2 day pass too but without the ropeway. 1 free ride is provided by resort. Check with them if you are going.

If you ever come to Okuhida Onsengo and intended to spend a night here, this is the place you must spend your night at. The Ryokan room is simply awesome, not the mention the outdoor and private onsen. You'll get to soak yourself in the comfy onsen with snow and great view around you. The Owner is so kind that he will bring you to the Shinhotaka Ropeway if so you requested

The location was perfect. A nice secluded spot a bit away from the main road, but an easy and beautiful walk along the river to the Shinotaka Ropeway. The staff were just so friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible! Some of the best Kaiseki I've had in Japan. Everything was impeccably clean and we'll thought out for your every need and convenience. I couldn't recommend this place more. Really enjoyed our stay The private and public onsen scenery was so beautiful, especially with the change in maple tree foliage colour during autumn. The dinner and breakfast was very delicious (using local Hida beef and fish) Even though the owner speaks limited english, she went out of her way to help us with planning our trip and even gave us a lift to shin hotaka ropeway. The highlight of our 2 weeks japan trip.
