The staffs are extremely helpful and the dinner and breakfast is delicious!! The room is sooooo big and the view is great. Just that the spring is a bit too small but its enough since i went there during december (to my surprise, there are very few tourists only). I highly recommend you guys to try this hotel as this experience is definitely enjoyable.

A great place on the beach”
We really enjoyed our time at Shiraraso Grand Hotel. From beginning to end, everything was very easy and convenient. The staff were kind and helpful as well. We did not dine at the hotel, but there were several good restaurants that were easily accessible nearby. We loved our room that had a view of the beach/ocean and a little table section to eat, draw, etc. We would definitely recommend this property to others!

Eyecatching Dinner and Breakfast”
The hotel is more than 80 years and locate right on the beach, the room is a little bit old, but the kaiseki dinner and breakfast is exceptional good and tasty which makes the stay worthy. The in-house onsen is average, only one indoor and one outdoor pool and no sauna room and massage pool

Good Location and outstanding meals”
The hotel is just beside the beach and close the main street of Shirahama where you can find supermarket, shops and restaurants. The hotel is founded more than 80 years with a long history and you can find the old photo inside the hotel which is quite interesting. With respect to the room, we had booked a seaview Japanese room ( 35sq. meter ) which is just meet our expectation, and the in-house onsen is very basic with only one indoor and two outdoor pool. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to stay in this hotel for its excellent kaiseki dinner and japanese breakfast.

The dinner set is terrific. With staff’s introduction, you can enjoy Japanese set dinner with details. Room is spacious but the hot spa can improve. It just look like a big bath tube!

Facilities and room bit old”
We booked 1 night stay for 3 adult and 1 child with breakfast and dinner. However the child has no meal provided and the explanation from hotel staff was, all booking from Agoda, child’s meal not included in the price, we need to pay extra for the kid. If that was the case I won’t choose this hotel at the first place. Plus the food is average, disappointed!!! If any of you want to book this hotel, please contact them and confirm all the terms before finalise your booking. I won’t go back again.

Beach Hotel”
We stay here to celebrate our anniversary and take hotel package with dinner: Kumano beef course. The food is great, kumano beef texture is melting in mouth and the seafood are fresh. They have private family bath (2 hour with fee around 1.200 yen, better book in advance) and the onsen facility (there is outdoor onsen that facing the shirahama beach, its very nice view) The hotel access is very easy, you can take Meiko bus from Shirahama St for 340 yen/person. The bus stop is very close to the hotel, just 1-2 minute walk. If you need the direction guide you can ask the nice lady at the tourism Shirahama St., she is very helpful. Once you arrive at the hotel, you can walk around to the beach, the Shirahama beach is just right in front of the hotel. The sand is white, but no water sports here. This is our first experience of ryokan hotel, the room is spacious, on the evening the hotel staff will arrange the futon for you. The futon is actually quite comfort, its not like I imagine would be hard to sleep at tatami. We really enjoy the stay and have a good relaxation here.

Unexpected Pleasure”
We needed down time after hitting several Japan sights pretty hard for nine days and selected Shirahama Shiraraso for this. My wife also wanted to hear waves hit the beach. Well, it was great, all rooms face the ocean. We enjoyed the beach and the formal Japanese breakfast. The onsens are top notch. The locker rooms, the showers, the pools, and the primping area all gave good vibes. Wearing the katunas added to the relaxing mood The staff was very helpful in trying to understand our English and give us directions. We were able to walk to a nearby street and have our selection of dinner cuisine. We chose a Chinese restaurant run by a very friendly Mr. Tay from Hong Kong. There is also a sizable 24 hour grocery store one block away. A special shout out to Mr. Sasaki at the front desk for getting us settled in on our first night. On a down note, there were several carpet stains in the public halls and elevators that detracted from the hotel's refined aesthetics.

A great stay in Shirahama”
Location is good, by the beach with convenient stores and restaurants within 5 minutes walking from the hotel. The room is very clean and spacious with beautiful view of the sea, generous with towels and yukata ( you will need these for Onsen as we have come across some hotels only give you one each). I chose Japanese breakfast which came in a set, was tasty and plentiful. For Onsen it's on 2nd floor, then there is one up an escalator which has spectacular view of the sea. The staff at the reception when I checked in which was around 2pm spoke little English, but the girls who took us to the room and the one that looked after the 5th floor and also served breakfast were lovely and spoke good English. All in all we had a great stay at Shiraraso and will love to come back again and definitely recommended to friends.
