Pros Extraordinary value with breakfast and meals included (deal was about AUD$210 per night for 2 adults 2 kids including breakfast and dinner). I'll probably never get that value anywhere again :( Ski to back door- 30 sec walk to onsen and room Best outdoor onsen Nice staff 20% discount on ski rental gear with membership signup Good range of ski runs Efficient moving of people on lifts No lift lines Meals were great, but mostly Japanese food and Japanised western food Cons No clothes dryer onsite Some lifts are closed Old rooms were a bit dated and small, but still clean. No private onsen Meals were expensive if you didn't get them included as part of a package (dinner 4200 yen) Dinning hall reminded me of a boarding school cafeteria (but with better food options) Some runs were a little icey, due to not much snow. Shizukuishi doesn't get as much snow as most other ski resorts in Japan I think you'll enjoy your stay if you get a good deal and good snow

The dinner/breakfast was an UNBELIEVABLE deal. So delicious! Staff, as always, was very accommodating and friendly, and the room and surrounding scenery was beautiful! I would love to stay here again!

I received a very attractive price online. I came to Shizukuishi only because they were hosting the All Japan SG championships, otherwise I would never have considered it. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my stay.

snow poder made me feel happy and the room has a nice iwate mount. view but it was very hard to contact the hotel to make a shuttle bus reservation. i have to contact to hotel's facebook and they will give an email to you.

Best stay experience this time - mountain view right by your window”
The hotel is beautifully located next to a hill slope of the mountain where cable cars climb. You get a breathtaking view out of the bedroom window. Although the carpets and upholstery are a little tired and could do with a little upgrading, the room is spacious and waking up with a breathtaking view out of your window each day is a bonus. Overall this was a highlight of our group's stay!

Quite a distance from Shizukuishi Station. Also there was no hotel pick up. Tried to arrange it but not possible. Taxi ride was around 4,000 yen one way. Hotel good. Very easy for skiing. Lockers in the hotel, just walk to the lift. Well kept runs. Had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Fine, nothing special, lots of choice. Onsen great, but a little small considering the size of the hotel. Would go again. Not places close by to eat, unless you have a car. Then still not many places that I could see.

Ski in and Out with amazing onsen”
Great location and the onsen was stunning and amazing. Hotel is older and needing repairs; carpets in halls are water stained; dinner was ok but overpriced at 4200 yen/adult. beds are super hard. This is a great base for a ski weekend but not the higher end that one thinks of with the Prince name.

Pleasure”
Hotel had stains on the rugs, mould around the doors, couch was filthy unable to even sit on it, fridge did not work and the water in the evening was brown and unpleasant. Hotel was not cheap. We were required to upgrade but they could not provide the upgrade accommodations.

A little dated”
Great location , great staff, the property needs a little updating. The ski hill had its heyday a couple of decades ago, but it’s still gets great snow. The whole operation is owned by Prince hotel group and I don’t think it’s being used to it’s full potential. Clean hotel with good food and a good onsen but it’s just about twenty years in the past. Carpet on the lower and mid priced floors is old and worn out .

Good value hotel for family visiting”
We were there at the end of the ski season and did not have a chance to go skiing as it was raining. The room condition was good , not big but just enough for a quick stay. The location was perfect for ski lover and not so far from Morioka if you want to spend time in the city as well.

Extra expenses, but still a great getaway choice!”
I really enjoyed my two nights here. The room was very large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and would always say hello to me in English and check that I was enjoying my stay. Ski gear hire was an easy process from the main lobby, and the shuttle service to and from the train station was a useful bonus. (However, it could only be booked in Japanese over the phone before hand - so I had to ask my hotel before to make the call for me). The dinner buffet was AMAZING - but also very pricey. About $45 Australian dollars, so I couldn't afford to do it both nights. Breakfast was much for reasonable at about $15 and still a very high quality. They seem to know they have their guests trapped on the mountain, so they can charge what they want. The Onsen was BEAUTIFUL. Snow falling, and COY swimming just in the pool beside it. I was blown away by it. The ski slopes were good for an intermediate skier. Two days is probably all you need here.

Great Hot Spring with Beautiful View, in isolated area”
This hotel locates in the middle of forest. There is virtually nothing around it. This environment seems a negative factor at first, because it takes long time to get there from anywhere. You cannot explore casually after you checked in due to the isolation. However, the location gives you lots of comfort. The highlight of the hotel is hot spring. There is only one outside hot spring, and you should go there at night. They keep beautiful carps just several inches away from the spring. You can relax so much bathing in next to beautiful garden, the garden is very skilfully lit up and gives you such a soothing view. I went there with my wife and 4 months old baby, though I didn't feel any specific inconvenience, there was no flat seat in the restaurant. The bed can be put side by side if requested, so the baby won't fall. The nature is the greatest richness in this area, so this hotel might be the best place to enjoy that.

Next to the skiing resort ”
Clean room. Comfortable onsen though its small. Can still look at the snow view. Good food for dinner buffet. Fairly priced. Only few shuttle buses operate every day. We had to take a taxi to get there.

Staff not polite. It is not common in Japan's standard. No smile on their face in the frontdesk at all. The frontdesk staff cannot communicate in English. Anyall, the price is attractive that include 2 meals. The staff in restaurant are friendly.

この値段でこれ以上ないおもてなし”
あえてあら探しなんてしなければ、何も文句はありません、星五つです。 アクセスはもちろん良くないですが、盛岡駅との送迎を無料でしてくれてとてもありがたいです。施設は決して新しくはないですが、掃除は行き届いていますし、温泉も私としては文句なし、泳ぐ鯉を見ながらの露天風呂なんて最高じゃないですか。従業員の方もきちんとされていて親切ですし、プリンスホテルはきちんと教育されてるんだろうなと思いました。一つ残念なのは、朝食メニューが毎日ほぼ同じことですが、お安く泊まることができたので致し方ないですね。まだまだスキーシーズン、コロナで客が少ないのが本当にかわいそうですが、来シーズンこそはお客さんであふれるといいですね。客としては人が少ないのはどこも空いていてとても助かりますが。 今回はスキーで行きましたが、夏に小岩井牧場に行ったりもしたいので、またお邪魔したいです。
