The Sikatuna Beach Hotel has always been one of our favorite places to stay at in San Jose. It is close to the airport and right on the beach and the staff are friendly and helpful. This last trip I stayed in one of the third floor rooms above the reception area. The room is very small and quite dated with some loose floor tiles. The room inspite of being a double room is just big enough for a solo traveler. The a/c was cool and the room pretty quiet which was great because just one floor down is a function room but the noise didn’t reach the room for the most part. The WiFi is usually pretty good but this trip it was not good at all, but from what I found out this was throughout the whole town of San Jose because of provider network problems and not just at the hotel. Overall I would recommend staying at the Sikatuna. It is value for money and a great place to stay and eat. Try the Beef Tapa breakfast, it’s the best we’ve eaten anywhere!

The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes drive from and to the airport. Tricycle fare by the way, if you go out from the airport compound and just hail one along the highway is only P10-P15. I ride the tricycle from the airport compound and I was asked P100 for a ride to Sikatuna hotel which is only 2-3 minutes ride! Lesson learned, just go out from the airport compound to look for a cheaper trycicle. The hotel's location is great since its very near the airport and not too far from San Jose town proper. However, the rooms furniture I think needs refurnishing. The room smells moldy, I think its because of the rotting wooden furniture especially the ones at the CR. Exhaust fan at the CR by the way is noisy so I did not turn the lights on when I need to use it because of the noise, I just left the CR door open. The food is great, the staff even more so. Very thoughtful and accommodating, courteous and polite and always ready to assist.

A nice place to stay”
We enjoyed our stay in San Jose thanks to the hotel as well. It is on the beach so suitable for a morning or evening swimming. Good food (just staz away from the fruit salad) and a nice and helpful staff. Recommended for sure.

Again, we throughly enjoyed our stay at the Sikatuna Beach Hotel. The room was clean and cool. The shower was warm. The food good and the staff great! This is why we have been regulars here for going on thirty years now. Two thumbs up!

Beachfront hotel ”
Good place to hold out if you're in San Jose but want a quiet, beachfront location but still only a few minutes by tricycle to town. It's not the prettiest beach but the water is clean and shallow enough for little kids or non-swimmers.The hotel's rooms are comfortable and decent-sized; the restaurant is good too. The shower water never really got very hot but it's not like it was missed.

Sikatuna Hotel - A gracious lady showing her age. ”
The Sikatuna is beginning to show its age, and some sprucing up would be in order. Our room was small and simple, but more than adequate. Suggestions I would make are: 1/ Bigger televisions (ours was tiny) and 2/ Hot water showers that actually work. Apart from that we had an enjoyable 4 night stay (1 extra night). It is good value for money, I just wish they provided oxygen for those of us walking up the stairs to our third floor room. All in all - it is what it is - a tidy, comfortable middle of the market hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

Great Location! ”
Great location and service with a smile. The location is 5-7 minutes away from the airport. And right in front of the beach. Free airport shuttle, look for Rod(the guy with a huge smile). For breakfast, I recommend their beef tapa, danggit and daing na bangus. Do try their beef tapa and blueberry cheesecake! Room is quite big with enough space for 2 luggages. Great staff!

I have been a regular at this hotel for over two decades and the staff and owners are very friendly and accommodating especially when a special need or request arises like early check in (7:30 a.m.) etc. The room is clean and very comfortable. The food at the hotel restaurant is good and very reasonable price wise. The only down side is when there are large functions at the hotel as it can get very busy around the restaurant and the grounds. I will definitely stay here again.

Cheaper rates but deplorable service”
Among all the other accommodations options, I think Sikatuna Beach Hotel has the better location, being situated right in front of the Aroma Beach. However, their service was bad. I booked through Agoda and when I was checking in, the staff didn't even know about the online booking, or even the website Agoda it seemed. The room where I stayed was very dim, even with all the lights on. While I have the option to open the curtains by the window, my room is in a high traffic area and doing so would pose some privacy concerns. Just on my second night, I already saw two cockroaches in my room. Every night, I had to deal with mosquitoes biting my arms. There was also very weak internet connection in my room. On my third night, I asked for room service to clean the room where I had been staying and it took them an hour to come. I also had to wait this long every time I order a meal.

Best value for money place in San jose”
Staff are nice and accommodating. Food tastes delicious, menu has a wide selection of dishes and reasonably priced. Please have brewed coffee always available as not all take 3 in 1 instant coffee... Parking space is okay and guarded. Hope they have a swimming pool as the beach front does not look too inviting for a swim..

Good value but poor Wi-Fi”
Overall, the hotel facilities are very nice except for wi-fi access. Though the hotel made it clear that Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby/dining area, the connection was very slow. Mobile phone signal (Globe/Smart) in the rooms is also poor, if not nonexistent.

Location is good if you want a beach view. You can walk to city/town proper maybe 20minutes. Food in the restaurant is not pricey. Rooms are clean and towels are served quite hot :) Plus they have free service to airport

Good hotel stay. ”
Was another good stay. Friday and Saturday there were a number of events going on at the hotel. Wasn't too bad for me because I was out all day at meetings but if someone was just staying at the hotel all day it wouldn't have been a restful day. The staff as always were friendly and courteous. Always ready to make your stay as pleasant as possible all things considered. Will definately stay here again.

Solid choice for a night or two”
An ageing hotel on the beach a short tricycle ride out of town. Rooms are ok and clean, ours was at the corner with a decent view of trees and a bit of ocean. Food was so-so, would not recommend the crispy pata even though promoted as ¨best-seller¨. Fried chicken was much better. Staff can be helpful if you insist. Breakfast and wifi was free.
