I am very happy with the view from my window because I can see Mt. Fuji. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was just right for my small luggage. It is my second time staying here and will definitely go back when I visit Shizuoka again.

A little better than basic business hotel”
I cannot stand unit baths. The toilet is so close to the tub, and it's barely a meter from the head of the bed, and I'm not sure there's even a fan inside the bathroom pulling steam/humidity and smells away. If the toilet were smelling for any reason, it'd immediately stink up the entire hotel room. I hate it so much. That said, the overall decor / aesthetic / feel of the Smile Hotel is better than most business hotels. A bit brighter, a bit more colorful. Less depressing, less rundown-feeling. And a rather nice view from the 11th floor; or it would be if there were anything worth seeing. For 3500/night this place was great. If it were more expensive, I'd want a place that feels more homey, or more quirky (in a positive way). But as somewhere to just lay my head, in between full days out in the city, I have no complaints.

Basic but good”
Smile Hotel is a very standard hotel. Not particularly fancy, but also not crappy at all. It's got that unit bath typical of business hotels which I can't stand - way too cramped, and if you should happen to have some problem with the toilet stinking up the place, the room is so tiny it really will stink up the place. But, that said, the place didn't feel old, rundown, dirty at all. It was absolutely just fine. A short 10 min walk or so to the train station and to the main center of shopping and so forth; fine location, no problems.

Cheap but a hike from Shizuoka Station”
Cheap, clean and quiet. You'll need a cab if you come from Shizuoka Station and have heavy luggage because it's about a 15-minute walk from there. Not a lot to do or eat in the immediate vicinity, but the busy station area isn't that far away.

The location is ok 10mins walk to the shopping mall, 13mins to the Shizuoka Station. but the room is old and a bit dirty, bathroom was smelly. The bed added a mattress and the pillows are latex pillows are quite comfortable .

The hotel room is quite small but since I am small it was ok for me and I think it is worth the price! The staffs are so friendly and they give freebies when you do Eco-friendly cleaning. The location is near Shizuoka station and from the room where I stayed I can view Mt. Fuji! The picturesque view of Mt. Fuji with snow makes me smile every day so the hotel is really living up to its name!!! S-M-I-L-E H-O-T-E-L.Try to get rooms ending in 06 to 10. 100points for the view!!!!!

Location is a bit far from JR Shizuoka station, but walkable. JR pass usable on Shizuoka station, and then you can explore the area. Shops/eateries in Shizuoka Station, and Sunpu Castle Park is walkable from hotel. Lots of bread available for breakfast.

Clean, quiet and nice”
I like this little hotel. It is near the train station, easy to find. They let us take the bicycles. We rode to the sea shore and spent good time on the beach. It was fun. Staff is very helpful too. If I go to Shizuoka, I will definitely stay here again.

The services provided from this hotel was very good, the room was clean. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. It would take you 5 to 10 mins to go to Shizuoka Station (of course depending on how fast you walk.)

Within walking distance (about 10 mins) from Shizuoka Stn . Staff was helpful although there was communication problem but they tried hard to understand you and your needs. For the price inclusive of breakfast, it was certainly money worth.

The washroom is a bit smelly, if you don’t mind it’s a very cheap-price hotel. The room is not very big and just fit for 2 luggages. The staff are very helpful as we encountered some car-related problems. They were willing to help call for us.
