We had an excellent one-night stay at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort. My only suggestion would be to have more beach chairs (there were only two wooden beach 'chairs' to lay out on in the sun). The beach is quite rocky, so recommended to wear flip flops at all times, even in the water. Staff was friendly, and I would highly recommend this to others as an affordable play to stay to enjoy Padre Burgos.

Clean and Good Value”
I stayed here one night and I was pleasantly surprised that the room was good amidst its cheap price. Location - Good because it was on the main highway but getting to Sogod is a bit of a challenge (and quite exhausting too). Food - Expensive and nothing special. If you go in town, food is cheaper and there are more options. I didn't dive with them so I can't say anything about dive facilities. Judging by the rates I say it's a good price and non restrictive (no minimum dives required). There's room for improvement for customer service. Staff must be more accomodating on local info (help with transpo, share other points of interests in Padre Burgos).

Great place to relax and go diving!”
This was my second time at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort and it certainly won't be my last. My wife and I had a fantastic time. They have nice rooms, really good food and an excellent and attentive staff.. The diving in this part of the Philippines is phenomenal. In my opinion, some of the best in the country. They have beautiful, healthy reefs, as well as excellent muck diving for those who like it all. We will definitely return and bring some friends along as well.

I had a great stay at the Sogod Bay Scuba Resort. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Scuba diving was great. This was a fantastic place to come. Also a great value for your dollar. I will definitely return.

Best place in Philippines!!”
We just left Sogod Bay Scuba Resort yesterday and we already miss the friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Wish we had stayed longer!! Would love to return. Great food. Great location. Especially if you just want to snorkel/dive and relax. We didnt explore much because we were happy to just stay put. Which is unusual for us explorers!!

Friendly Staff, Fantastic Setting”
Beautifully located on the shores of Sogod Bay, this is the place to come for your scuba getaway! Pedro and Dave head the top-notch dive crew, and have an uncanny ability to find the tiniest of marine life! They offer three dives daily, and also a night dive. The boat is spacious and comfortable, and the dive briefings are professional and emphasize safety. But above all the staff are fun! The onsite restaurant has several specials that are changed on a daily basis. I stayed in one of the apartments located 200m up the road, across from the waterfront: it was large and had a private terrace, as well as A/C, fan, TV, hot water, and spotty WiFi (hey, you're on southern Leyte!). I'd happily return!

Excellent”
very helpful staff, good food, the beach in front is not sand but crushed coral but still white and a bit rocky in front but it was as still as glass and very inviting to swim especially when the sun is out. not hard to locate the resort as it's along the main road although there is no assigned parking space. we would stay there again and would definitely recommend it to people. would also like to mention that they offer whaleshark interaction and if you want to see these gentle giants, they will take you there and you have a chance to swim with them and with a scientist from an NGO who can answer questions and the best part of all, there won't be boatloads of others doing the same. when we were there, there was one other boat and a total of maybe 10 people in the water with 5 whalesharks. it was incredible. however, this is seasonal from December to May only. Otherwise, scuba dive!

Decent accommodation for divers ”
The room was nice but 200 meters up the road opposite the sea. Gravel beach, you want to wear flip-flops going in. Other than diving, there is nothing to do. Food and drinks at the resort are expensive, nearest town is Padre Burgos, 2 km down the road. I had to walk back from town as there were no tricycles or multi-cabs after dark. Some local road side eateries and one restaurant in Padre Burgos, the latter serves mediocre Philippino fare together with ear blasting Karaoke. Night life consists of a couple of drinking holes for older expat men entertained by very young local girls. Staff at the resort was correct but didnt smile much. Overall, not a place I want to return to.

It all went pretty well. The rooms are huge and clean The in-house restaurant is a little pricey and not super tasty (much better option next door a little further south) The dive operation is good, everyone is professional. The staff gets a lot of repeat customers and clearly the service and attention is put on them. There is one incident that crossed me particularly. I had been asking the staff for a number of days if they could arrange a boat transfer across the bay (to Pintuyan). They repeatedly told me that it was not happening. On the morning I was leaving, after being told again that no boat were crossing, both their own boat + next door resort's boat left to the other side of the bay. When confronted the staff was like "we didn't know" (i.e. we don't care). This event pretty much sums up the experience. You're paying good money so the whole setup is good, but unless you're one of the regulars the staff won't really care if you have a good time or not.

Nice homely environment”
Enjoyed my stay at Sogod Bay resort. The dive staff at the resort were attentive and helped to look after us during the dives. The rooms are also well equipped. We particularly liked the TV with access to numerous international channels.

This wasn't fine . The apartment we had was about 100m down the road and on the non-beach side, but big, clean and had all the amenities. Beach is coral shells , but the water is super clear and corals start 10 yards from the beach. Diving was average price for the area, food was good but relatively expensive . Breakfast in the 285 range instead of the usual 150

I enjoyed the calming surroundings and having not been there to southern leyte before was unsure of locations, SBSR was the best choice I could have made really professional staff, especially given the other experiences in Rural Leyte. Great rooms, great staff, All you need for a relaxing trip,...thanks to staff and good understanding of international travelers..cheers

Great stay, both resort and dive staff were very helpful. Food not so good for variety or quality. Most of the dive sites had large amounts of small fish and stunning landscapes. However not many critters were spotted on the 8 dives we did.

Diver's Paradise”
If your looking for diving this place is the best option in the area. Professional Hotel and Dive Staff and not to mention some amazing dive sites! Saw a Whale Shark on my first dive and we weren't even looking for them! Other than diving there's not much to do so come here for the amazing dives!

little was said in the advert, i got the impression all the rooms/appartments where next to the beach but most are the other side of a road, the one i had was the cheapest they have so i should'nt have expected much but was disappointed it was off a car port without zero views and not even a tv, had aircon and en suite which were fine, food was expensive and small portions, i only ate there a couple of times, it was cheaper to travel into town to buy meals, admittedly i did'nt go there for the diving but just to relax, i imagine that would have been good, only 2 or 3 other guests while we were there so could have had a better room if they had wanted, unlikely to go there again
