Excellent position in Kendal, walk into town, good pub (Union) with craft beer just round the corner. Friendly owners provide well appointed room and excellent breakfast

Amazing ”
Practically perfect in every way. The most friendly amazing couple run this place. And if anything is wrong they will do everything in their power to resolve it and make their guests happy. And they provide everything and are just so helpful and nice. Everything was spotless and wonderful. I have never stayed anywhere better in all my life. And the bed was so comfortable.

Nice romms l but hard to sleep due to traffic”
It is a very nice guesthouse with more facilities than you can ask for. But it is next to a very busy road. The traffic quiets down around 11pm and picks up at 5am, which makes it difficult to sleep well.

More like a five star hotel”
This guest house is more like a five star hotel. We had a very warm welcome from the owners and nothing was too much trouble. You could even choose the time of your breakfast and the breakfast choice was comprehensive. Our room was impeccably clean with tea, coffee and chocolate making facilities and TV. The bathroom was replete with shampoo, liquid shower soap, body lotion, cotton buds and wipes. Wifi is available everywhere in the guest house and there is lots of tourist information in the hall, plus, the guest house is just a short walk to the town centre. If you're looking for a place to stay in Kendal, I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Sonata Guest House. Very special accommodation run by very special people.

Good location and friendly helpful owner”
The owner welcomed our stay. He served us very delicious breakfast, continental and Full English all in one morning. We are given guidance about the Lake area highlights. We enjoyed the free wi-fi all day. The room is very modern although you cannot tell it from the outside. The view is remarkable - the fells with white sheep scattered in the pasture when you draw the curtain. Certainly amazing for us - citydwellers. Since it was raining, it became so cold that we had to turn on the heater even in August! The best part is free parking with a permit! Although the roads are somewhat narrow (or our car is big), we find parking nearby. It is also close to the town centre, walk about 5 minutes, you can get into the supermarket - Booths.
