One of the best value hotels in Vietnam”
we stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the my tho-ben tre area. given we stayed in guesthouses and hotels all around vietnam, we would definitely recommend the song tien annex as one of the best values and hidden gems! a must-stay if you're in the area and need western comfort at reasonable prices. pros: - very accommodating and friendly staff - free and secure parking for motorbikes - motorbike rentals available (although it will be much more expensive and have less selection than hcmc or bigger cities where motorbike rentals are more common and competitively-priced) - rooms are very spacious, modern and extremely clean - bathroom fixtures are modern and very clean - good amenities: a/c, lots of hot water, big tv, lots of storage space - nice view of the river - reasonably priced cons: - wireless internet routers are only on odd-numbered floors. we stayed on the 2nd floor and got little-to-no reception. had to go downstairs in the lobby for full internet speeds.

nice but TERRIBLE STAFF”
Unfortunatly my staff at the Song Tien Annex was somewhat unenjoyable, after booking with agoda, the didnt seem to have an email stating my arrival so were insisting that i pay them again, i obviously refused and reluctantly she led me to my room, the room although was of a high standard to what we were used to the door on the other hand didnt seem to shut and deffinetly looked ajar all the time, we asked for another room and she point blank refused due to the fac that we 'hadnt paid' On the morning of checkout, after providing her evidence of my booking again, she still persisted that we hadnt paid, and made us stand in the lobby arguing with the little english knowledge that she had, i unfortunatly felt like i was perhaps in the wrong but after triple checking my booking i was extremely persistant, it wasnt until then that she had the gumption to contact agoda and find out for herself, which in my opionion she should of done when we arrived. The room was nice, and therefore i cannot complain but word to other who wish to stay here, if your english then print out confirmation and INSIST when they arrive that you have previously paid through Agoda.

If you plan on staying a day or two in My Tho as you travel through through the Mekong this place is worth considering. The price per night is average as is the hotel. The roof top restaurant has closed down which means for the included breakfast you must walk 2 1/2 blocks to the main hotel but that didn't bother us. The staff do not speak English which again would have been nice but not uncommon. What was annoying to us was the room's claw foot bath tubs. Small for a tub and not a shower. We are travelers who want to grab a quick shower and get going. Not with this tub/shower combination. The rooms weren't dirty but showed wear. Still we did enjoy our time in My Tho and the location was very good. In My Tho this is worth consideration however if there was more competition in this town I would look elsewhere. There were numerous areas where Improvement could be made to make this so much better.

My stay at Song Tien Annex”
We were greeted by the helpful Mr Dong which was a great start when arriving at the beautiful hotel building. It was soon apparent though that from lack of tourism the hotel is very tired/shabby which is a shame. Maybe if the owner only had one hotel instead of two (and maybe more, also very tired looking) they could make one great place for visitors to stay instead of lots of substandard accommodation. My Tho is a great interesting city so worth a visit rather than just passing through on the usual Mekong Delta tour so I encourage people to come and stay at the Song Tien Annex to restore it to glory.

Huge room with good quality fittings/fixtures at a very reasonable price. Basic breakfast was included and receptionist book a cheap tour for us, and also a motorbike during our stay. Worth another stay..

The most friendly staff ever”
Big room with a huge bathtub (it takes quite a while to fill up), very friendly staff - excellent street food on the next corner and yummy banh xeos just outside. Breakfast was a disappointment though. Ask in the reception for a tour guide - you will get a much better prize. We left at six in the morning to see the sunrise on the Delta - it was just magic

Quan is the super friendly receptionist”
The room is big, airco works so/so. It's a very old hotel. Breakfast is not much, no choice and is only until 08.30... way too early for holiday. We rented a motorbike through the hotel for 200.000 a day and drove to Ben Tre which is really nice. Quan helped us out with a bus back to HCMC and told us nice places to go he speaks very good English that makes your stay more nice!

Good for a short stay”
We booked for one night with breakfast. We extended our stay for another night (this time without breakfast as we need to leave early the next day) Breakfast was at the other hotel with the same name. About 2 or 3 blocks away, we didn't mind the walk. Breakfast was nothing special, might as well find other place to eat if you want a proper meal. This hotel is near the river so it can be very noisy at early hours. We were awaken by a brass band the second night we stayed. We went out at the balcony to see the commotion and there was a funeral car on the street with the band playing on the side of the street and that was at 5.30am! It was a good thing we need to be up at that time. It didn't last long maybe less than 10mins and they were gone. p/s: there's a man trying to promote boat rides around the islands outside this hotel. he greeted us as soon as we arrived and wouldn't stop offering cheap island tours. We didn't go for it even though he can be a bit pushy. We don't think he works for the hotel nor the authorised boat companies.

Our stay here was quiet and comfortable. The room was large, clean and in good repair. The internet access was also excellent. It was right next to the river with a lovely view from our balcony.

Week-end in Mékong ”
The hotel is simple, the room pretty large but dońt expect too much. Te bed is ok but not very confortable(but no issue). The location is perfect to take a Boat at morning and visit Mekong and farms.
