JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku
Shinjuku,Tokyo - View on map
"Looking for a hotel is one of the most arduous and critical decisions one makes when one travels. There are so many considerations to be made. In my last trip to Tokyo from the 26th of February to the 4th of March. I found the one hotel I will be staying in every time I visit Tokyo. That hotel is JR KYUSHU BLOSSOM HOTEL SHINJUKU! I absolutely love this hotel. First, the location is key. It is right off the JR Shinjuku Station. Just take the Koshu Kaido exit then turn left and follow the road down. The hotel is less than 5 minutes away in a small quiet alley right off the main road. This is ideal because it makes it quiet. The lobby is big and clean and the rooms are bigger than the average Tokyo hotel room size. The bathroom though is MY FAVORITE thing about the room. I'm actually thinking of redesigning my bathroom to look like the bathroom in this hotel. What I would love though is if the hotel had a small fitness center. The internet was fast and reliable. I love this Hotel!"

Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihonbashi Premier
Tokyo Station,Tokyo - View on map
"We booked 2 night stay tryingsttrying for the 1st time at Mutsui hotel chain. We were very impressed with the spacious room for Tokyo standard, nice reception, right above JR station Shin-Nihonbashi and also the subway station Mitsukoshi Mae. We stayed at Daiwa Roynet before and few other Japanese chains and the rooms were smaller as expected for Tokyo standard. The great experience was destroyed by Ms Yamagechi, the front desk staff when we approached her to notify her that we're very closed to check out time and we would go up to collect our luggage and check out. We expected her to be appreciative of our proactiveness. However, instead, she gave the unhappy look that we passed the regular check out time which we told her the hotel has agreed to extend 1 hour for us. Not only that, not looking interested to continue the conversation, she's like 'Hurry up!" We're totally appalled with her attitude. She's in hospitality industry but yet she's so hostile. We expected more friendliness from Japan and she just took us by surprise. To the Management of Mitsui Garden Nihonbashi, please ensure you send Ms Yamageshi for customer service and hospitality training. Despite the unpleasant experience by the staff, the hotel is a really nice one, spacious to stay and I'll highly recommend it. Nihonbashi is a business district, much quieter as compared to Ginza or Shinjuku and if you prefer less touristy nice quiet neighbourhood, this is perfect. There're nice restaurants around the hotel too. "

Shinjuku Washington Hotel - Main Building
Shinjuku,Tokyo - View on map
"When we arrived, we realized that our booking put us all on smoking rooms. The helpful staff managed to put us on non-smoking but we still need to stay two nights at smoking rooms as at the time they have no non-smoking room for the whole duration of our stay. We found that the smoking room has better bed with some sort of memory foam or latex foam lining on top. The hotel is about 10minutes walk away from the JR Shinjuku station. For us it is not a long walk and we think it is a good distance but not too far because Shinjuku station is very busy. There are two mini marts and there are plenty of restaurants too on the hotel premises. You can find several more between hotel and Shinjuku station. Rooms are clean, although a bit small as most other hotels in Tokyo are. Sometimes the wait time for the elevator can be quite long although there are six elevators. Our first local tour's meeting place (Yakoso) is right at the hotel and airport Limousine bus can take us directly to the hotel and we can purchase return tickets to airport right at the hotel as well. This is a big plus because we have quite a few luggages. We think this is the most convenient hotel we have stayed. Distance from the JR station is just right and you can find quite a selection of food at the hotel too: Japanese, Chinese, Western, even an Indian food restaurant."

Nippon Seinenkan Hotel Tokyo, Shinjuku
Shinjuku,Tokyo - View on map
"Nippon Seinenkan Hotel is over the road from the Meiji Jingu Stadium, which means it's super easy to catch a Yakult Swallows game - so much fun! The hotel itself is very new and very convenient to the Tokyo Metro Ginza subway line, and the Omotesando, Shibuya and Shinjuku shopping areas are all within walking distance. Ginza shopping is only a short subway ride away. The hotel staff were very friendly - lots of English was spoken, which made things even easier for us. I've stayed in quite a few really lovely hotels in Tokyo and the Nippon Seinenkan Hotel compares favourably in lots of ways - value for money, quality of room, location and facilities. The room (queen) was small, but that's Tokyo - it didn't worry us even though we were there for 15 nights. There's even a Family Mart on-site for late night snacks. All in all, a wonderful stay in the best city!"

Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda
Shinagawa,Tokyo - View on map
"We have stayed in many hotels in Tokyo and this Gotanda hotel proved to be excellent value for money with very easy access to Gotanda JR station and the Toei Asakusa subway line being only a few minutes walk. You can easily access all the main areas in Tokyo including the Tokyo, Ginza, Shibuya and Shinjuku areas in less than 20 minutes. The rooms were essentially new so are in excellent condition. We chose a twin room to have a bit more space. Our sons comfort double room was also very good but not much space to move around in. One negative was not having enough storage/ drawers for clothes or to stash a suitcase. If you prefer a soft bed you might find the bed a bit firm and it did cause a few aches for us over 8 nights but it is not as bad as some of the unbearablely, rock hard beds we have experienced in Japan.. My husband, being Japanese, loved the rooftop bath and both the men and. Women’s baths seemed to be very popular. Being able to wash/ dry clothes also a bonus."

The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome
Ginza,Tokyo - View on map
"We booked the Tower Suites Double. Not sure if it was included but just not mentioned on the booking or if we were upgraded, but we got a room on the 38th (premium) floor with a view of a park and Tsukiji market, and daily breakfast for two. Here's a quick summary of our excellent stay at The Shiodome RPH: Location: the hotel is conveniently located close to the Shimbashi station. However, for those not used to living/staying in a large metropolis, although the hotel is connected to the station, it may still take 10-15 minutes to walk to a certain subway line as the stations have many exits and are well connected underground. In addition to train/subway, there is always a taxi standing by outside the hotel and the valet is very helpful. There is also airport shuttle to and from Haneda and Narita airports. Facilities: the hotel has a spa and a gym, although I did not use either. There are several restaurants on-site. For the daily breakfast there are three options: Western buffet, Chinese buffet, and Japanese. We ended up going to only the Western and Chinese buffet, both are small but have delicious food. There is also a 24-hour Family Mart convenience store downstairs, which provided several yummy late night snack/drink options. We also quite enjoyed the iced and hot coffee available in the vending machine on our floor. Room: My biggest concern with booking a hotel in Tokyo is with the size of the room and the size of the bed, as I have read many reviews in the past that mentioned Tokyo hotel rooms are small. Our room is not the case - we have a HUGE (King+ size) bed, and the room still has a small seating area and desk. Overall I was very satisfied with the size of the bed and the size of the room. The premium floor rooms also offer high ceilings, which is a plus. Room is very clean and comfortable. Amenities/Others: There is a capsule coffee machine in the room and mini bar. Of course, there is a nice toilet in the hotel (specialty of Japan). But I LOVE the"

HOTEL THE CELESTINE TOKYO SHIBA
Shinbashi,Tokyo - View on map
"It lived up to all its reviews and more. We enjoyed daily buffet breakfast. The lobby has delicious pastries and green tea. Good wi-fi connection everywhere. 10 min walk to Tamachi and Mita station, which make getting around Tokyo really easy. JR line is at Tamachi. We booked a superior room and it was a good size compared to usual Tokyo hotels. Extremely courteous and helpful stuff. Excellent service. I'd come back here and tell friends about it. "

HOTEL MUSSE GINZA MEITETSU
Ginza,Tokyo - View on map
"Strategically located in a quite ally in Ginza so it’s convenient but away from the hustle and bustle. Room is larger than most three stars hotels in Tokyo. Staff members at the front desk were very hospitable, but those at the restaurant apparently were NOT clear about the room plans offered at their hotel. I payed extra money for breakfast and two drinks per day, but the restaurant manager repeatedly told me the drinks were just filter coffee and teas, which were already included in the usual breakfast layout, and appeared indifferent when I showed him the booking confirmation from Agoda. This is something I’ve never expected from any hotel in Japan. So do NOT book rooms with “free drinks” otherwise you’re wasting money!"
