        Recommended Beach Location”

If you want self-catering and a great beach location then look no further. This is a small place consisting of three rooms, two standard and one superior, a dining area and kitchen to do your cooking. The kitchen comes fully equipped and there is also a large refrigerator. But be warned there is no restaurant although we went into Sipalay via motor tricycle and banca to the market to buy some extra food to cook. You can eat in restaurants in nearby resorts on Sugar Beach if you don't want to cook or if you have the budget to do so. Sugar Beach House is set in a beautiful tropical garden with seating and a swing hammock and the whole garden and complex is lovingly cared for by Sonja and her husband who are the owner's parents. They are helpful friendly people and only too willing to make you feel at "home." From the accommodation it is about 80 meters to the beach and Sugar Beach is my favorite in Negros Island. The whole beach is a light-brown fine sand and mostly clean. The waters are clear and safe for swimming. There are walks to the caves and rock pools but little else to do except relax and enjoy the ocean. If you want tranquility in restful surroundings it is just the ticket. If you want noise, hordes of people etc then go to Boracay! The rooms are clean and spacious with AC that works and a fan in the room. The shower room is large and a luxury as it dispenses heated water!! My family loved it here and we will go back as soon as possible. One final thought, if you are prone to mosquito bites take some DEET with you.

First of all, Sugar Beach is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Soft sand and a gradual incline so you can walk out far into the water. Not busy at all, but with plenty of small restaurants serving great food right to the beach chairs. The rooms are simple but have everything you need, including AC and a small deck to sit out on. It's just steps from the beach and next door to several restaurants. When going, it's best to make arrangements with management to pick you up in a boat at the Sipalay waterfront. There is a cheaper way to go between Sugar Beach and the city but it's no good when you have luggage. One tip for Sugar Beach in general is to bring small notes of 500 pesos and less. The 1000 peso notes that bank machines give out are not always accepted around here and you'll end up opening tabs and trying to spend more than you meant to. I can recommend Sugar Beach House without hesitation. Go!

Nice, peaceful stay amidst a jungle beach!”

Exotic location, nearby beach and great restaurant/bar

This was a fine stay indeed! Let me first point out that the restaurant was owned by a different company, but was only 30 seconds from our room. Our hotel was basic, but functional. It had a decent shower, tv, air con, fridge and ample storage space/draws for clothes etc. The room got sandy easily, as the outside doormat was ineffective. This location really was secluded, in the heart of dense forest, with the only way back to civilisation via a 20 minute bangka ride to Sipalay City, and I recommend going first thing to stock up on any essentials. The restaurant seemed to be open always, and served great food. The menu was large with some German items inspired by their owner, and the dishes were generous, very tasty, promptly served and reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly and approachable. I recommend omelette for breakfast and cordon bleu for tea! The dining area was bamboo supporting a thatched roof on the sand, and was literally a stone throw from the sea. The weather for the first few nights couldn't have been more ferocious, but the wind and rain nets for the dining area did their job easily. Indeed, it was almost scary how a slightly overcast, but calm day could suddenly become ravaged at dusk by gale force winds and torrential rain! Sugar beach is so called because the sand is brown rather than golden, and I enjoyed it. My friend however, found too much dead foliage and driftwood being washed up. Very enjoyable and memorable stay overall!

        location, outdoor kitchen, staff

We stopped here for one night on a total whim. It was fabulous and the guest house massively underplays itself. This is a "get way from everything" venue. mega close to beach and local restaurants. IMPORTANT TIP. Get all your ingredients at the market next to the Ceres terminal in Sipalay. Sugar beach has no places to buy anything and you must cross a river. The cooking facilities at this guest house are great and the tuna in Sipalay is mega cheap.

        Comfortable stay”

We had the room on its own with its own outside area. Comfortable bed Spacious room with plenty of storage space and a clothes rail Very clean & nice towels Pleasant garden to sunbathe in Sugar beach itself is ok, could do with a clean up, lots of rubbish. Boat transfer from Sipalay is 300 per boat, can share a boat on the way back. Sugar house doesn't have a restaurant but you can make a hot drink / food in the kitchen. Lovely staff. WIFI was good. Plenty of other resorts nearby to eat in. Nice place to relax for a couple of days.

        Nice and relaxing stay”

It was a great experience staying in sugar beach house. The place is so relaxing and quiet. Marko and Vanessa were excellent host and also nanay. They are very hospitable and immediately attend to our needs. They assisted us on our trip to the place and communication was very easy. The place is as advertised and good value for money. The food was excellent and affordable. The beach is best for swimming plus the rocks and scenery and sunset. I would recommend this if you want to relax and unwind from too much city noise. Just be ready for a long exciting journey. Thank you for a nice relaxing stay.

You get what you paid for. ”

We stayed at the resort for 3 days 2 nights our mistake is that we were not able to contact the resort before going that is why we paid more in coming to that resort. The location is a 30min boat ride from silay proper, and the resorts service boat will be fetching you it and cost you 200 per pax. Sugar beach is ideal for chilling and relaxation at its best with the fine sand and the best sunset view. Sugar beach house doesn't offer ready to cook food unlike the other resorts on the area however it was ideal for us to pay 500/day for the servicing staff to cook the brakfast luch and dinner because leasing of their utensils cost 300/day. ofcourse the ingredients for your menu will still come out from your own wallet though. The accomodation doesn't cost too much compared to other resorts but a good value for the price you paid for.

        Excellent Place!”

I love the place, the location, the staff. The folks looking after this place are a family and one errand lady. They're all great and friendly and helpful! You can cook at their kitchen you just have to ask. Very near the sandy sugar beach. Very relaxing stay. I just loved it! I will still stay here if I come back in the future.

Homey but TV and Internet does not work”

We love Sipalay. The resort is homey and staff are really..really helpful. We even asked them to look for a native chicken for dinner. But you TV and Internet does not work. We were told that there are some problems with the prepaid system.

Quiet Place To Relax near Beach Front”

Privacy, You can cook your own food for free, Just 20 meters away from the beach front

We stayed in the beach house for 3 nights. the room was clean and spacious enough to accomodate the 3 of us.(Me, wife and daughter). the bathroom is clean and it has hot/cold shower. After taking a swimming in the beach, they have a shower outside so you can clean up with the sands in your body before entering your room. This was thoughtful. They have a regular cook who is a local that accepts orders on what is available catch for the day. It was one of the best native chicken tinola i've ever had. The owner is very hospitable. He always treat me for a free italian espresso and it was the best coffee I've ever had in years. If you want a place quiet to stay for couple of nights in an airconditioned room, then this place is ideal for couples or couples with a kid or two that will fit in the room.
