Was satisfactory enough however not sure why they have a telephone in the room when no room service is actually provided if you want some quick food in the room or a couple of toiletrie bits. Wifi also wasnt free because i didnt book through their webiste specifically. and rooms are very basic. cleaners also seemed very loud in the mornings. Having said this the price was good so cant complain to much and staff were nice otherwise .

Thumbs up! Had a enjoyed stay at Campanile Birmingham Hotel. It is only 5-10 minutes away from the city centre and it's best to drive there. Open spaced parking at the entrance is free. Staff were genuinely friendly. Furnishings were slightly old but very well maintained. Clean towels & linens were provided. Value for money!

A peaceful haven in a big city”

I felt very lucky to find through Agoda this very pleasant place to stay. It is about half an hour walking distance from New Street Station. You walk along busy roads, but once you get there it is quiet and you feel out of the city. More detailed instructions on how to get there would be useful - with so many flyovers, ring roads and intersections, the way is not always clear. In the dark it would be difficult to find it for the first time, I think. The reception was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. It overlooked a canal. Tea and coffee were re-filled every day. The breakfast was simple but enough to make a good start to the day. The hotel is ideal for those who want a good place to stay without paying for unnecessary luxuries.

On the Agoda website it states free WiFi only to get to the hotel and be told you have to pay for WiFi because you did not book directly through the hotel. Free WiFi only applies to those who hook directly through the hotel and not through 3rd parties. The toilet had a very bad stench. The bed kept moving as it’s on wheels so it wasn’t steady. Check out is at 12 but you’ll get a knock every 5min from 8am. Annoying!! The location is good in a quiet area and parking is free.

WiFi which seemed to be available when I made the purchase was an extra cost. Otherwise room was fair size bath was very small staff were friendly clean place location long way from anything restaurant food was ok but lacked vegetables with the meal, and little overpriced.

Worst hotel stay ever”

When I pay to stay in a hotel I expect to have a stress free relaxing time and a good night sleep, the first night I was kept awake by my very noisy neighbour, they were talking very loud until 6am, the walls are that thin I could hear every word, I contacted reception but nothing was done, because the hotel was full, we had to have a twin room, but one of the mattresses was knackered and so uncomfortable, I reported this but they could not replace the mattress. Unless your desperate and no other rooms available, I would avoid this hotel.

Surprisingly shabby for a modern chain hotel, but decently comfortable and good value. Location is a bit off-putting, in the middle of an industrial estate in Aston, but fine if you just need a bed for the night in Birmingham. Electrical socket situation in the room was pretty awful, just one free socket that took a lot of finding (the sign in the bathroom lies!). Electric kettle provided in the room, but the lead is far too short to reach the free socket and required a lot of manoeuvring and disconnecting the TV to plug in. Shower was decent, not too much noise from neighbouring guests, but that tired decor really needs a refresh.

My stay was in no way enjoyable. I found the following to be the reason for my horrible stay -bath was rusty -food was disgusting. The oil in the deep fryer hasn't been changed in months. All the food looked as if it had been bought in tescos and re heated- except for an omelette that my girlfriend got which she said was nice. I got a pizza - dry and tasteless and a penne carbonara that was a miserable portion. -room was disevenigly small. Pic on website not entirely accurate - advertised as 5-10 mins from Villa Park - it's a 15 min drive - receptionist was totally unwelcoming or friendly - a residentent trashed a room below us. I was awake from 3:30am -5:30am until the staff eventually called the police - our radiator was missing a temperature regulator dial - when I went to complain I was handed an envelope with a pre written message to contact an email address. Some customer service - not! - the lift in the hotel is bordering on dangerous. Floor in the lift is delapadated and the lift doesn't arrive fully on the floor. Leaving a step that could cause injury - toilet seat was filthy with yellow perminant stains

It was relaxing, staff were friendly, food was nice, room was clean and comfortable. Good room size, not too small. The shower had some minor problem but nothing the hotel cannot replace. Overall it was a nice experience.

Only one major complaint, the carpet leading from the bedroom to the bathroom was soaking wet in the room. Hotel quite close to city centre but navigating there on foot was complicated, that said the hotel and staff were more than satisfactory.

Simple hotel, simple prices”

Very basic rooms and hotel but it was clean and cheap and perfect for one night in Birmingham. It's a bit out of city centre but only £5/6 in a taxi so easy to get in to. Breakfast wasn't great but again at a bargain price you can't expect too much.

We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the chap on reception even went out of his way to sort us some extra coffee out for the morning. I probably wouldn't pay the full rate for the hotel , but was more than happy with the place at the rate we got. I'd definately stay here again if I were in that neck of the woods.
