Mycket bra”
Great Western Hotel Newquay 11-15 September 2017 We booked this hotel through Agoda after having researched online hotels in Newquay. We decided to stay in Newquay as it appeared to be the centre of all tourist activity in that part of Cornwall and as we had decided to travel from London by train. We selected this hotel due to its price, location (near railway station) and past reviews. We were allocated a unit on the 2nd floor which involved a lift and a corridor with 6 fire doors. We got used to these as time went by. The room was adequate, clean and serviced daily. The window overlooked the car park at the front of the hotel and the main street. Units overlooking the sea were more expensive. The staff were helpful and courteous at all times. We used the hotel dining room /bar for most of our meals and found the menu adequate for the days we were there. The Monday special “steak and a pint” was excellent value and very tender. We had breakfast in the hotel each morning with the choice of buffet or a la carte because it suited us. The bar and wait staff were excellent . The views from the dining room are beautiful. We would recommend this for travellers on a budget for up to 2 weeks.
Great hotel in Newquay”
Great hotel. Very friendly staff. There is a pub attached to the hotel with great food and wonderful views of the bay. Really recommend staying here.
Rabbit Warren”
This hotels layout is terrible. Not disimilar to a rabbits warren. I felt clostraphobic by the time I got to the room.
So so”
so so!!!!!
Newquey Trip”
We went to the Great western hotel Friday to Monday as a long weekend break, the hotel its self was easy to find, the only down side was parking which if I had read the details correctly was stated that you needed to book a space. The food and bar were excellent portion sizes were big and reasonably priced. the only down side was that we had to wait a while for the food to come(nearly a hour), On the whole the hotel was lovely and so were the staff which were very helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel and certainly go back again.
4 night break”
I couldn't pick anything wrong with our stay here, would definitely stay again as the price was good and to be honest I'd have paid quite a bit more to stay in the premium sea view room we had. We didn't eat at a meal at the restaurant/bar but looking at other peoples food it did look good. There's a garden out the back with great views over the beach which we sat and had a few drinks. The only real problem is there's no parking, apart from a pay and display just up the road which I didn't mind because it was only £5 for 24 hours but if you went in the summer holidays I don't think you'll find and spaces. Anyway overall opinion is to visit this hotel, me and my girlfriend loved it and would go back 100% if visiting Newquay in the future
The rooms food and staff where very good”

My stay was functional and basic. the hotel was clean and basic.
Very clean but basic outdated standard room, 106”
Me and my wife to be stayed in a standard room it was very clean but in need of a refurb, after looking on web site and looking at other rooms we have decided to spend our honeymoon there in there honeymoon suit over looking the sea, I have pre booked carparking. Looking forward to returning with my wife.
One night stay”
Good Location, Rooms need a facelift”
Our room was in need of modernisation. The floorboards were creaky. However everything was clean and neat. Without the good location it would have seemed expensive for what it was. The staff were good. The large bar and dining area was bright and modern.
Basic hotel to lay your head for the night”
i stayed in this hotel with a friend for nye. we chose it because travelodge was full. it was great location wise,
Good Value, Great Location”
A one-night stay at the Great Western, especially in a location where a 2-night (or greater) minimum stay often reduces choice makes it very good value. The building is old and rambling. Basically well-maintained, although the decor is a bit dated. New power shower in an older bathroom was a nice touch, as was a new flat-screen TV. For a short stay, great value at £55. For a longer stay the room was a bit confining and hallway and floor noises a bit annoying although not excessive. Did not opt for the breakfast at additional charge.
