Wonderful experience”
This guesthouse was a wonderful experience. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. Small details make this place stand out. There are clear labels on the heating system so anyone can figure out how to use the ondol. The color themed room is fun. There is enough space for each person to hang their towel and jackets. All of the towels are different colors so everyone can tell whose towel is whose. It has a great view of the city. Popcorn and Candy come to greet you. Electric bed pads to keep you warm. Electronic locks so you don’t have to worru about keeping track of keys while you’re out. One of the people in my group has bad knees and someone else in my group injured their knee on an earlier trip so we were all very pleased that the building has an elevator and that the guesthouse offers a pick-up and drop-off service to the nearest subway station (the guesthouse is up a steep hill so the car service was a godsend). The staff communicates well and are very thoughtful.

Great Value and Great Place”
I stayed in an 8 in a room listing, but we were only 4 at the time, and everyone was nice. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and even offered free pick-up from Mapo station. The place itself is great, with good and clean facilities. Rooms are heated, and there is heating pad on the bed. Bunk befs have curtains for privacy and own lamps inside. Free toiletries and free breakfast. Only concern is the location. The place is 600m away from the station, but the main concern is that to get to the guesthouse, you need to walk up a steep road. So this listing is not for families and older group of people.

The staffs are very nice and friendly, especially Kyle and Ericot. They take care of us and teach me how to use the facilities in the guesthouse. It was so nice to meet them and I think I will stay in this guesthouse again. This is the lovely and comfortable guesthouse I stayed since I had visited to seoul eight times already. Although we needed to walk through the slope when we were back to the guesthouse, I think it is not problem for me to pick up this guesthouse again. Highly recommended Han River Residence and Guesthouse!

Just you make sure that you inform the property to fetch you from Gongdeok station or Mapogu. Their pick up service is free. The place was situated uphill and it is very tiresome to walk along the steepy road.

Room size’s bigger than many hotels in Seoul. All staffs’re very kind. Even though there’s the road slope on the way to guesthouse but they’ve pick-up service from subway. Good service.

The location requires a steep, uphill walk, although they will provide shuttle service to the Geongdyuk metro stop - when they’re available. There are no interesting restaurants or shops within walking distance. The property is unique and has a real cozy, family atmosphere, but the uphill walking with young kids wasn’t ideal. We ordered pizza instead of venturing out.

Booked guesthouse for party of 6 (family) with young children. Near Mapo station however on a pretty steep hill so the commute can be difficult if you are old or very young. The guesthouse attendant offers pick up and drop off at either Mapo or Gongdoek station so it was convenient and also will drive you the station upon request. The common room facility for morning breakfast is self service (cook yourself) and wash your dishes upon completion - room has a kitchen so you can also cook within your unit. In room wireless is good, bath shower is good.. had a great time.

Overall a good experience staying at Han River Guesthouse, you get what you pay for I think. Simple booking and good communication all the way. We were met by a very friendly lady that wished us welcome. This is a simple accommodation, but what you could expect from a guesthouse at this price. It was a fairly clean feeling by the look of the room when we arrived - you could tell they had done their best, but be prepared that the house is quite old and of course from that it will never look spotless. But the sheets and towels felt very clean. The towels were a little on the small side - no big shower towels. And we missed some information on where to get more towels during our stay. Also the shower was quite unreliable in holding a steady temperature, so you just had some waiting moments during your shower to wait for the temperature to stabilise again. I guess it’s to be expected from an old house with old plumbing. We never experienced running out of warm water, you just had to wait a minute or two. Some points to be aware of - some of the mattresses are VERY hard… In the bunk beds the mattress was so hard, it was like just a notch above feeling like sleeping on the floor… it was a little bit better when we put an extra double-folded blanket on the top of the mattress, but just so it was bearable for the few nights we stayed. The mattress on the double beds were a bit better, but nothing to brag about. So you will most likely don’t get the most comfortable sleep you’ve had in your life. I think the guesthouse would do well in investing in slightly more comfortable mattresses… Another thing to be aware of is that some part of the road up to the guesthouse from the metro station is VERY steep. So you would probably want to order a taxi all the way up when you arrive with heavy luggage, if your not fit to do some heavy dragging or pulling on luggage for a 15 minute walk straight up… If your looking for very cheap accommodation with a good location in Seoul where
