Great stay in Yamagata”
Just stayed for one night but love everything about this hotel. The hotel is right at the JR station exit so no worries about direction. The group is spacious and clean with full amenities. We chose the plan with breakfast and really enjoyed it. Gotoでかなりお得な値段で一泊しました。駅と直結で、バス停などもすぐ行けるのでアクセス抜群です。朝食が美味しかったです。山形滞在であれば非常にオススメです。

Very good location and customer service”
Good points: very good location ( in the Yamagata train station); I have left my 3 luggages a day before my check in date for an outside night tour and were brought properly in my assigned room when we came in. They have also allowed late check out of our bags/ redeemed in the register when we went out for a ginzan onsen tour. Got a good view, clean room and facilities. We’ll recommended!

I loved everything about Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata. Firstly, the location is inside the station building which is extremely convenient after a long days journey. The front desk staff are very polite and helpful. I stayed 5 nights and never had any issues. The single room was a good size, very clean and had lots of provided amenities. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in beautiful Yamagata.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The place is very elegant for how much you’re paying. It’s connected right to the mall and JR station which is very convenient especially if you’re coming in late and are exhausted. My room was small but comfortable for a single person. Breakfast starts at 630 which is nice if you’re trying to make an early start to the day. I however wasn’t too impressed w the breakfast menu but they do give you options between a Japanese or American. I had the American style breakfast. it was okay. I skipped breakfast the next morning because I had to catch the train so I couldn’t try the Japanese one. My only real complaint was the smell on the 7th floor and my room. It smelt funny but I only smelt it the first night. The second night I didn’t notice anything. It was a very comfortable stay and is located in the heart of the city. Customer service is excellent.

Convenient location”
Right in the train station so connections were very easy. Room had a very nice view and was more than spacious than most hotels in Japan. The breakfast, however, was a huge disappointment. Only two choices and very small. Not worth the extra expense. Compared to most Japanese hotels where buffet is the norm this was sparse and not very tasty. Skip the extra expense. This was the second time I stayed in the hotel and still glad I booked it.

Just next to JR exit Easy to find Halal food as it's near to Max Value AEON- 5 min walk My room just in front of vending machine! Staff were so friendly and great! As it attached to SPAL, you can find everything there inc Starbuck! The best about this hotel is they provide free smart phone service where you can used it for internet access and calls.

A very comfortable stopover ”
We stayed 2 nights, traveling from Ouchijuku to Ginsan Onsen. The Hotel has a pleasing decor and our 3 bed bedroom was surprisingly spacious . Breakfast was ample and there was a free flow of coffee for Hotel guests . I love the view from my room ( busy street below and mountains framing the horizon).

location is upstair on jr yamagata station,the jr station can assit us go a lot a place.....zao onsen,ginzan onsen and sendai station!staff was helpful and good customer service!!especially is japanese cleaner aunty,when morning walk out from your room they always greet you!if will go yamagata again,this only our choise.

The hotel was inside the Yamagata JR station making the location very convenient. Rooms were lovely, however there was little room for the luggage of 5 people. Pocket WiFi was provided. Yamagata castle was only about 5 mins away.

It is a nice business hotel owned by a rail operator like many others in Japan. But I think in Yamagata, it was amazing to stay in a place that is clean and well-maintained in a central location near the station and with unbeatable views of the surroundings.

The hotel is just beside JR station, while having direct access even. no need to walk out of the station. Service from front desk is great. Room is not too small for 2 person as the type I have chosen this trip. Metropolitan chain of hotel standard is great. No onsen in hotel is a slight surprise though.
