The kindest owners and best place to stay in Nikko”
The place is about a couple of minutes walk to the bridge and the world heritage sites where Toshogu temple is. The place is very nice and the onsen were a nice addition to your stay. Feels nice soaking in the onsen after a long day of walking around. The breakfast is very good, the pastries are delicious. The owner and his son manage the place, both are very warm and friendly. The father was even kind enough to offer to drive us back to the station. We really appreciated their help. I would most definitely come back here to stay again when I visit Nikko. And would highly recommend it to future guests.

Excellent”
Received a message from the property on instructions to the hotel. Was greeted by the friendly owners upon arrival. The hotel is at a quiet location which is at bus stop,#13 away from the Tobu train station#2 . The resort has a very comforting ambience ,the Private onsen is free for use and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was also very good and served in a beautiful dining area. There is also has a small play area for young kids. Microwave and fridge are shared. There is no kettle in the room, you'll need to go the dining area to get hot water for your tea or coffee. Overall we love the place and would stay here again in future.

Quiant lil' place”
I love this place. It's lovely and has a warm and comfortable touch to it. I like the sharing space where you can heat up food to eat at, and the private baths. My stay was very pleasant. Location wise is very not close to the station (thought it's not too far away either. It's not hard to get around by bus.

Hotel with a rustic, minimalist feel. I found it very charming and cozy! The towels were fluffy and smelled good. The staff is very kind, he prepared breakfast for my 2 year old son. Highlight for the private ofuro and for the delicious breakfast!

Beyond Expectations ”
This place truly exceeded our expectations. I’m a traveler who loves pretty things and this place was very much “instagrammable”. Upon arriving, the exterior caught our attention because of the large windows and the inside was lit nicely. Check in was easy and we were greeted warmly. We were toured around and was given a quick explanation about the facilities and it’s amenities. The private bath was amazing. My husband and I were able to use it together which was a dream come true. The stone bath was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was so delicious and presentation was picture perfect. The rooms were clean and spacious enough. Definitely recommend this place!

Clean accommodation with friendly owner”
Accommodation was just along the main road, could easily be missed if you don’t look carefully. The house was very clean! Even though the room was small but it has everything you require. The owner, Kono-san was friendly in providing any information that you require :) highly recommended!

Nice and warm stay in Nikko”
Although it’s relatively small, Villa Revage offers intimate experience for those who would like to sample Japanese hospitality. The owner/hotel staff were all very helpful and would explain in length to answer whatever inquiries you have about the sites or area (in fluent English!). The outdoor ‘onsen’ (hot-spring) was definitely a plus feature – it’s very relaxing after a long-day walk and could be used privately for a couple! And the breakfast was really well prepared and delicious! Location-wise, it’s near to the Botanical Garden and easily accessible using the bus. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Villa Revage, and will definitely stay there again!

Location is very close to key tourist attractions. Rooms are well furnished. Toilets are somewhat small. But very clean. Host (Kono san) is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good value for money and not to be missed. He has taken a lot of effort to prepare it with fresh items and presented it well. Very happy to recommend this place to anyone.

The owner was flexible, friendly and able to provide good tips about Nikko and other nearby locations. Would have been nice to provide small snacks with the tea. The breakfast was very good!

very family oriented hospitality. bus stop is just less than 5mins away. Do order their in-house meal.. it is nicely prepared! All people there are very helpful. the private onsen was really a bonus! :) Highly recommended!

A nice place with warm atmosphere. But travelers have to spend 10 minutes taking bus to get there. BTW pay much attention to the timetable of the bus.

cozy pleasant place”
hotel is a bit out of the way. There is a main street in nikko. on one end is the train station. If you drive 7 minutes (walk 20 mins) from station, you get to world heritage site. If you walk another 20 mins down this road from the world heritage site, you get to Villa Revage. Not bad if you don't mind a walk and you can also take the bus, but I would not say the location is great since its not near both the temples and the city center. However, it is right next to the ravine/botanical garden (5 min walk) so that is quite convenient. No restaurants nearby, plan to eat in the downtown nikko area or at the hotel's restaurant (I think you need to tell them ahead of time). Aside from location, everything about the hotel is great. The staff are really kind, the private baths are beautiful and so relaxing. Each room has private bathroom, including toilet and shower. When we left, the owner was kind enough to drive us to the station! Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Tidy, but out of town”
Tidy but small room for three. My fault, but I didn't understand you cannot get food unless it is pre-booked and there are no restaurants nearby. But in the end it was a quick bus trip into town for dinner.

Hotel Nikko Akarinoyado Villa Revage ”
I enjoyed my stay at Villa Revage. The rooms though small were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The private baths are a must try especially if you like a huge bathroom to yourself. Breakfast is tasty and sumptuous comprising bread or Danish, 2 eggs, meat (sausage, bacon), soup, salad and fruits. It comes in handy to have breakfast and dinner included in the hotel as Nikko on the whole is quite remon and most shops close by 5.30 pm. If you are taking the bus to the hotel, stop at bus stop 12 "Nikko Shokobutsuen". The hotel is about 2 mins walk up the road.
