It is perfect with the location & the price”
The location is just next to 上通り shopping street, near city tram and some major tourist's hotspots. The hotel is aged (but its not a problem for me), it looks very classic. The room is bigger than almost all other hotels' room which in similar price. The staff of this hotel is familiar with English, there won't be a communication problem for internation tourists. I would recommend this hotel to someone who don't need useless facilities in the hotel. I will select this hotel if I visit Kumamoto again.

Kind Staff and Great location”
We went for a weekend trip to Kumamoto. The hotel is only a short walk away from one of the major bus stops that connect directly to the airport. It was also just around the corner from Kumamoto Castle. The staff were very friendly and the room a good size.

Tucked right in the heart of convenience”
Tucked right next to the Kamitoricho shopping street where food options and convenience are abundant. The hotel has aged over the years but has been very well kept. Rooms are BIG, clean, and basic amenities like body wash, towels and kettle is provided. Room is sufficiently insulated and a central heater will keep you warm during winter. However the partition between the rooms are thin so noise from the next room can be faintly audible. It is also worth noting that the footsteps and slamming doors from the corridor may also be heard via the front door. The mattress is a bit on the hard side and more comfortable beds would make this better.

A lovely surprise. Clean, well located, spacious rooms, big beds, great breakfast, the receptionists did not speak much English but we managed to communicate all our needs. We were satisfied.

The hotel is near the shopping street. You can easily find good restaurant nearby. The room is relatively big. However, it is a little old and dark but still clean.

A very old and soso hotel”
The hotel is vintage, or at least feels vintage. The only really vintage stuff there was the telephone at lobby, and the keys are attached to big wooden keychain. Besides this, maybe the reception sofas are vintage. If you want to visit the castle, this hotel is ok, rather near and still have to walk a distance. And it is about 10-15 mins walk to the shopping streets which is very soso compared to other cities like Osaka or Tokyo. Just 1 night here for the castle is recommended, or 2 if you want to rest.

Hotel is very good location side of shopping street , just walk 100 meters. Parking area so close to hotel. You can walk to Kumamoto Castle from hotel just 5 min.

Clean, spacious and centrally located”
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and very clean. The hotel is walking distance to the central shopping area. For occupants who are driving, there is an external parking a short distance away which charges ¥1,000 from 3pm to 11am, so one may wish to unload the luggages at the hotel first before driving to the car park.
