The hotel is minutes away from the town centre, and room is clean and comfortable. The restaurant has a great view of the lake and the food is delicious. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel a lot.

Well-located - very pleasant stay ”
It was the longest stay we had in one hotel during our trip to NZ and it was worthwhile. Room was a good size and comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful. Valet parking was very efficient. Breakfast spread was ok. I would expect better pastries though from a Sofitel management. Like the facilities: laundry, gym, sauna, hot tub under the stars... Room service was delicious.... but one disappointment was that they did a poor job cleaning our room - they didn't bother taking out the room service tray and then told me that I had to leave it outside... I do not like to do that as I think it attract pests to the hallways, and that's no excuse when I know they are planning to clean the room anyway. Other than that, we were quite happy with our stay.

Me and hubby traveled with an infant and I was surpsied thag this hotel is kid friendly as the rooms are spacious and with a kitchenette. A cot was provided too. It’s quiet, central and the ambiance is beautiful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Definitely will be staying again.

A few very average rooms.”
Booked a Lakeview Balcony. Initially given #309. This room is directly under the bar and should be decommissioned. Constant thumping from above late at night and early in the morning. Moved to #325 which is really a Garden view with lake glimpses. And add $35 a night if you have a car. No free parking at hotel and you'll be fortunate to get a park outside within 250 metres. I'm sure there are some great rooms, you just need some luck getting them.

Great stay - neatly perfect”
Only 2 little complaints. When we booked a balcony room we envisaged having drinks on said balcony. Should be plainer only Juliette balcony. Standing room only. Also fire in lobby we were so looking forward to sitting around. Was rarely lit and was not a wood fireplace but gas. Besides these 2 little quibbles the hotel was lovely. Rooms great and so clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Happy hour was fun and food both in bar and restaurant good. Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend. Well done all of you.

Disappointed ”
In a 5-star hotel you expect better service. The staff were actually quite rude on the front desk and in the bar they where atrocious - completely ignored us trying to order a drink. Room was nice but we had absolutely no view. For the price we paid I was very disappointed. I would suggest you can find something better in Queenstown. We are wouldn’t stay again.

no dental kit nor shaving kit. asked for it from the reception but never receive it anyway. room is right beside the back exit of hotel. side glass window faces the staircase of back exit. abosolutely zero privacy and security.

Nice hotel with Great Lake view”
Pro: - very good location. - very nice of the lake from restaurant - nice hotel with beautiful decor (I love the fire place and animal print cushions) — - reception is helpful. - the room is nicely decor thus cosy - very good shower power and water is hot enough (freezing in Queenstown). - the Molton Brown toiletry is very high quality. - coin laundry is very convenient and give a choice to traveller Cons: - daily allowance for wi-fi instead of all you can use - bed too soft and size too small - very small gym with no window, few equipments - not that many choice for breakfast buffet - the hanging no disturb sign sign kept falling off from the handle as it is too light - prefer a normal bath robe than the one provided as it did not look clean to me.

Hardware of the hotel is great and location is fair, around 10mins walk from the city center. However, the service level is far from 5*hotel level. In general, Staff are not friendly and helpful. If you just want to have a stay disregarding the service, it is still a good choice.

Free internet BUT disconnect every 30minute and can use 2GB hahaha funny no parking!!!! (valet parking 35$ per day hahaha again)
