I Had the Best Experience Here!”

Okay before I start reviewing, I’m so sorry it takes me so long to give a review to this hotel, as I stayed on mid until late March, when I was given the best service. I just kinda feel bad. Gomen ne 🙇‍♀️ *inhale* This hotel was hands down one of the best hotel in Tokyo! As it was my first time ever to travel abroad, I did have the best experience in this hotel. The hospitality was superb, the staff were friendly too though they had a little trouble with English or maybe my English wasn’t good enough for them to understand, I don’t know, but overall it was no problem. In fact, their English was good! The cleaning service was amazing, I was amazed how their work was so fast and kept our room looked so sparkly clean afterward, and they’re very kind as well, I was so touched by their kindness and work ethics 🥺. The location WAS excellent, it was so close with many tourist attractions such as Halal Wagyu Yakiniku PANGA, Ayam-Ya Halal Ramen, Masjid Assalam Okachimachi approximately if you are a muslim traveller, you must give them a visit, Ueno Park, Donkihote Ueno (Don Quijote), Ameya Yokocho Market, Yamashiroya, Life Supermarket approximately 350m, and most importantly it was so close to Okachimachi subway station for approximately 650m by walking! Also, you can use the microwave, have an igloo-like ice cubes, take a bunch of Japan/Tokyo/Mt. Fuji guide brochures and flyers, use a vending machine, a laundry service (the hotel provides laundry detergent. Each for ¥50), and abundant amenities provided in the lobby! Last but not least, my okasan really loved the aromatherapy scent whenever she entered the lobby, and would like to ask what kind of scents the hotel use? Because its smell was so relaxing and calming ☺️💖🌸 Maybe, that’s for now.. Phew, my experience was actually indescribable, you gotta try it for yourself. My okasan, oneechan and I felt so astonished. It was worth every penny even penny doesn’t compare to the hotel service at this point 😂 I’m definitel

Small but perfect”

Amazingly clean and quiet area not far from activity (10-15 mins walk). The shower looked so basic and simple but it was 10 times better than those fancy pretty looking ones. The water pressure and temperature control was perfect. The little touches made all the difference, like the heated mirror, the heated toilet seat, the simple AC (no English but easy to use), clothes freshener, drip coffee machine, kettle, leather slippers, travel adapter and extension (available on request), and any other things you might need available on the ground floor. Cons - The room is small in size and in height - The pillows where a little shallow for my comfort Overall if you are not a tall or large person this is a lovely hotel with walking distance to 4 different metro lines and a night market full of lovely eats and shopping. Also near to other touristy spots like the park with mini shows, petting cafes and many other interesting things.

We stayed here for 4 days with two small children, got a room with two twins and ended up pushing the beds together to create a Queen/King size bed for our entire family to share, since our small one can roll off. Although it was a small space, we used under the bed to store our large 3 luggage bags and stored three book bags in the corner of the room. We loved how convenient the hotel is to the stations and this was a local populated area with great stores and the main strip to Akihabara. The hotel staff were amazing, there was a staff member who clearly cared about here job. We were struggling to get a taxi for our family of four with large luggage bags and she hailed our taxi with ease and translating to the taxi driver where we needed to be to get to the airport. By the way the airport is 40 minutes away a ¥7400 to ¥8000 taxi trip. Either way this was an amazing trip. I personally enjoyed the breakfast, light and suitable for my taste. Great place to stay.

Great hotel, clean and polite staff. Short walk from nearby subway, and has a few little restaurants nearby, with a few コンビニ to choose from. Overall a great choice for those who intend to stay in the city area or visit Akihabara a fair bit.

Room is small but is big if compare to overage hotel room size in Tokyo. Nice staff. Clean room clean shower. Beautiful sky view in morning. Very close to train stations. Might come again.

The staffs are friendly, the room is very clean. Japanese hotels always offer the cleanest room and facilities in general. The metros are pretty close to the hotel within 10 mins walk. Overall I had a very nice stay

all great, abundant amenities, ice dispenser, coin laundry, vending of course as it is Tokyo (city of vendings too), very good location if not the best, as some hotels are adjacent or in the same location with the public transportation, while you can spoil your mouth, neck, and stomach for huge options food around and within 10 min walk distance. English is not wide spoken, but everyone survive.. I will get my family stay here on our next trip.

Favourably located near a small market(closes at 7pm), with quite a few convenience stores and food vendors in the roundabouts. It is walking distance to 4 different metro lines, you can visit Ameyoko/Akihibara/Ueno easily. Bedroom was pretty clean, big enough for 2 open luggages. Equipped with basic amentities, they also included an english manual guide for the remotes, as well as food delivery menu options.

Good location and lots of convenience store and restaurants nearby. Room is small but it’s like a normal Japanese hotel room. You can get some bathroom toiletries at the lobby to use. When we left the room late, they called us to ask if we will not have the room cleaned (since the room cleaning was only till 2pm). That was greatly appreciated as they ensure rooms to be cleaned as much as possible. Helped us get a taxi on our way to Tokyo Station.

Just around 10 mins walk from Okachimachi Station. Very convenient as there are supermarket restaurants nearby. Verty near to Ueno Station Staff are polite and helpful. They can speak English fluently.

Although not too near from subway but it is still a walkable distance. Not too far from akiba and can have a curry rice in the midnight in 24 hours Coco curry house.

Good value for money. Big room. I am actually booking there again soon. My only comment is that I think the bed had bugs because I left with bites on my leg.

Rooms are stuffy and smell of cigarette”

Despite having booked a non-smoking room, the rooms at this hotels are pretty old and can't tell if they are just stuffy or were once smoking rooms converted to non-smoking. I had to keep a window open through the day to get rid of the smell. The air purifier is ineffective. Overall a very good hotel, functional if you can't get alternatives in Ueno. At the time of booking alternatives were quite pricey or fully booked. This hotel was ok priced but I think during other times of the year I'd get more value for the same money paid.

The only consolation is the hotel location, which is near to shin-okachimachi station. Check in was tedious. It's self-service and the scanning of EVERY passport for my family of 5 plus keying in of details took a long time! Requested assistance with the manual aircon upon check-in as remote control was in Japanese. However, staff who attended to us was very cold and unfriendly, to the point where we felt unwelcomed.

Ett trevligt hotell med mycket trevlig personal. Ligger nära tunnelbanan i en lugn del av Tokyo. Rummet var städat och snyggt och kändes väldigt fräscht. Det fanns kylskåp & vattenkokare på rummet. Man fick t.om en varsin pyjamas att sova i. Uppvärmd toasits var en ny och trevlig upplevelse. All information på Villa fontaine fanns på både japanska bra översatt engelska så det blev alldrig några missförstånd. Villa Fontaine rekomenderas starkt.

The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood, but just a few minutes walk to the busy Ueno neighborhood. Excellent transportation options: Odeo line metro, Tsukuba Express, and JR at the Okachimachi and Ueno stations. The rooms are clean, albeit a bit worn. The guests who beat up the wallpaper with their suitcases don't help. The shower and bath are spacious by Japanese standards and so is the room. I had view of the Skytree which was nice. The hotel is overall quiet and restful, mostly popular with South East Asia tour groups and families. I lived there for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed it.
