Cosy & Warm Inn near Mitsumata Ropeway”
My wife and I was here in late December 2018 for 2 nights. We wish we stayed longer. White Horse is a really nice wooden concept Inn about 100m away from Mitsumata ropeway. Access from Echigo-yuzawa station is about 20 minutes by an hourly Public Bus. (Bus No. 1) The Inn is warm and equipped with a shared cooking and dining area. Coming from South East Asia, the weather was really cold for us (-6 degrees when we were there), but the Inn was really comfortable and has a number of heaters in the common areas to keep you warm. It felt like staying at a friends place. The rooms were basic but spacious. The beds were comfy and this is important after being bashed up in Kagura as first time skiers. The Inn owner Nori is a really friendly person who goes out of his way to make you feel at home. The Inn also provide full ski/snowboard equipment rental at good rates and you can get discounted Kagura Ski Resort passes from him. Highly recommended and we hope to come back!

A place that’s run with a lot of heart”
Nori-san and Kyoko-san were very friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. Though the inn is old, it is very well-maintained and has quite a character. It’s the warm, cosy, and quaint place you look forward to returning to after a day of snowboarding / skiing at the Kagura Mitsumata Resort conveniently located just across the road. Our private room was well-heated. There’s also a common kitchen space where you can prepare something simple. Self-service breakfast was simple but nice. It’s served in a really old-school diner-style space. Worth checking out. どもうありがとうございます！

You can rent the ski equipment from the hotel and the tickets too. The location is so close to the Kagura ski resort. From the train station takes 20mins to here, only 5mins you can walk from the hotel to ski resort. There is a nearby local hot spring is sweet after the ski time. Best choice of ski trip is here.

White Horse Inn”
Very nice atmosphere close to Mitsumata Ropeway. Rooms are simple with a small fridge and TV. No cups in the bathroom. Twin beds in my room were comfortable. They do have small meals available that you can heat up in a microwave in the common room. The nearest restaurant(only one) is a 12 minute walk away and closes at 6:00 PM (Early). Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM and cost 1,100 Yen. Good selection for food.(Cereal, toast, eggs, various meats, noodles etc. Small rental shop and very nice staff. Generally simple but convienient. I recommend it.

Ski Trip”
Staff is awesome. Location near gondola is awesome; particularly for advanced skiers. Love the home-like vibe. Only downside is lack of restaurants and such right near the lodge.

Location to Kagura ski is only 80meters. Onwers are wonderful and very helpful. Will defintely go back if for kagura and naebe ski again.

Triple bedroom with breakfast. The breakfast is only American breakfast not much to eat but Ok. Nice owner and staff willing to service. The best choice who love skiing at kagura

Small rooms but great place to go skiing”
I have stayed there twice. The rooms can be quite different so your experience may vary. The owners/tenants are great folks, the large reception downstairs is a place to mingle with friends and/or chat with random friendly people. The location is 5 min walking from the gondola.

Overall, it is good ski lodge, but the location is bit far away from downtown, not easy access by public transportation. However, it is good for ski, the facility is good. The weak point is not warm enough in the room and no hot water always for the shower.

Great lodge with awesome family”
Really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. Close to the lift and friendly helpful owners. Breakfast was good also. Only downside is no where to eat close to the lodge after 5pm and the bus stops early to town. So we just had a few cups of noodles from a vending machine, not great. If your busing up come prepared with food. Lift tickets were super cheap from the lodge and basically paid for our room. Completely worth it just for that.

super friendly owners 5 mins walk to the gondola gear rental and discount lift tickets on premise rooms are small but perfect for sleeping - there is a big communcal area with a well stocked kitchen, ping pong table, beer vending machine etc. Keep in mind, they only offer breakfast (delicious), so if you dont want to just have cup noodles or microwave pasta for dinner, which they sell at the lodge, then stock up at the supermarket in Yuzawa and do a big cook out in the evening. There is a big fridge in the kitchen and a smaller one at the room. We had a great time, thanks again to the team running it!!

Superb friendly service”
We had a great stay with a family of 4 (2 kids). The hosts were extremely friendly and went out of their way to meet every request (no matter what) and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Being 100 metres from the ropeway was a great bonus for all the ski and snow board lovers.
