Fantastic hotel with a superb location”
Big rooms with lots of space and all the ammenities you need: excellent bathroom, AC, fridge, hairdryer,... Nice garden to sit and relax in the evening. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location with a beautiful temple just around the corner and the monks as neighbours. No noise at all and all the restaurants and bars at 5 min. walking. I would definitely come again here!

The room was really nice. The villa is in a nice quiet location about a 10 minute walk to the main tourist areas. The common areas were very peaceful with a nice balcony and a koi pond. The breakfast was pretty good as well. Bill and his wife were really nice and helped a lot. But they disappeared at times and weren't able to reach them for certain inquiries. For example, we really wanted to participate in the giving of alms ceremony to the monks early in the morning. He offered to arrange everything. But in the morning at 5:30, he was nowhere to be found. Try to book all transportation and trips outside of the hotel since they inflate the prices. That being said, I would stay again and highly recommend it.

Good hotel for families !”
The room we had for five was spacious and clean. The breakfast is really good (many options, good bread and fruit shakes). The location is awesome (near many temples and 2 minutes walk if you choose to observe the alms given to the monks in the morning) It’s a kids friendly place ( many other families were in the hotel during our stay.) Good vibe!

The lovely setting and extremely friendly staff set Khoum Xieng Thong apart from similar places to stay in the old town. I will definitely return and recommend it to others.

Cozy guesthouse in heart of LPB”
We had a great stay here in wonderful Luangprabang. The rooms are high with wooden floors, fan, mosquito net and airco. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is very well located near Mekong and Nam Kahn river, morning and evening market, Phousi hill, restaurants and western bakeries. The bathroom needs an upgrade and it can be a bit noisy at times because of the wooden house, but it has a wonderful and relaxed vibe. The alms giving at 6 in the morning together with the owner of the guesthouse was a unique experience. Service is great here. We would defenitely come back next time we are in LPB.

Great Value ”
Our stay at Khoum Xieng Thong Boutique Villa was very enjoyable! The rooms were big, great staff, good breakfast and fair prices. The only downside was that the airport transfer that I had organised through the hotel did not show up at the airport and made me feel slightly uneasy. The only other thing to note was that the hotel is right next to the temples which are beautiful but you will be woken up every morning by the gongs!

Had a nice stay here. The beds are very comfy, rooms are spacious and the staff were helpful with renting me a motorbike. However when I booked the room, my booking was supposed to include breakfast. I was just told they’re no longer providing this even though I’d payed for it? Also the wifi didn’t work at all during my stay.

The door wouldn't stay shut unless it was locked. They was not complimentary bottles of water in the room. I unplugged the refrigerator because it sounded like it was dying and inside wasn't cold anyway which was annoying since we had food with us. The staff were friendly and there was a big table outside to eat at. But if you shop around there are better deals to be had. Also the WiFi was slow and couldn't watch a movie on my laptop.

Overbooking Continues”
I read a review of Khoum Xieng Thong saying that Mr. Bill was overbooking and asking people to go to his brother's place. I wrote to Mr. bill and said that I hoped that wouldn't happen to me. Upon arrival, he asked me to go to his brother's place for the first night as he had overbooked. Clearly, he will continue to do this despite having conversations about it with disgruntled customers. It's a pity as the place is in a great location and the staff are friendly and polite. He was also putting people into a room which is dark and gloomy: nothing like the rooms in the photos he has placed on the Internet. It's definitely something to be aware of before you book here. On the up side, the breakfasts were great and I met some wonderful fellow travellers during my stay.

Rooms were quite spacious and well equipped. The grounds had an alright garden but really just like any other guest house. The staff were friendly on arrival. The disappointing thing was that when we checked in they told us breakfast was included. Breakfast was unimpressive but we ate it because we were told it was included. On checkout they said "sorry we made a mistake, not included, please pay". The cost wasn't over the top but we probably would have explored the town for breakfast had we known. Guest houses are a dime a dozen in Luang Prabang and this one was run of the mill.

What is in a name? Khoum Xieng Thong Boutique Villa. Boutique Villa is not the right title for this middle class Guest House. The friendly staff is the highlight of this Guest House.

Desperately needs a renovation ”
For the price payed you can get much better rooms in LPB. I had the bungalow which was old-fashioned with dilapidated furniture and the bathroom could use a bit more cleaning. Warm water was not available at 5am so I had to have a cold shower in a cold room... not too thrilled for $34. Only positive is the staff which was friendly and easy going.
