Amazing hotel but do not book via Agoda. Agoda adds 20% Tanzanian tax but they claim they cannot issue a tax invoice because they are HQed in Singapore. However, the hotel also cannot issue an invoice because the booking was made online. The end result is that the Tanzanian government never sees the much needed revenue which goes to supporting social development. Agoda is tax fraudsters. Book directly with this amazing hotel. Their rates are much much better than Agoda and they pay their taxes to boot! #dotherightthing #boycottAgoda

Overpriced for rundown facilities & poor service”
Except for one amazing bell man, I was throughly disappointed with this hotel. It was receommended as a good place to stay by our tour company before & after climbing Kilimanjaro. It was an hour from the airport and at least 2 hours to the gate for our climb. Power consistently went out, wifi was spotty at best, the majority of the hotel staff was rude or unattentive. On our return trip of 3 days our room was never cleaned. All of our dirty towels were removed, but no toilet paper, water, or clean towels were given until we asked and still then I had to raid the housekeeping cart for TP. All that being said, I often stay in developing countries so I understand less than perfect service or facilities, but at this price point the lack of service and unreliable ammetiies for me was unacceptable.

+ Standard rooms incl. useful things like free Wlan and waterheater incl tea bags... + quite good gym ( and we really use gyms!!)- BUT - gym equipments are sticky as nobody cares about desinfection or only cleaniness (only the floor is cleaned daily) - much toooo loud music at the pool on Sunday -- you can not speak to each other--even when closing the windows its toooo loud in the rooms - /+ breakfast is very african style - just for information --> either positive nor negative + general a positive and good atmosphere

Not so enjoyable to stay unfortunately.”
My family and I were not happy because of the following reasons: 1) The hotel limit the supply of mineral water up to 2 bottles per room (in addition to 2 bottles that were already supplied in the room). When we asked for additional 2 more bottles, we were asked to buy from the kitchen. You must understand tht we cannot drink the tap water since it's not safe. Hence, if you want to make coffee, you hv to boil the mineral water instead. We are NOT asking for 5 bottles but we only asked for additional 2 more! 2) I booked 2 rooms and one of the rooms had the toilet lights and pathway light exploded. I supposed the hotel staff should hv checked the rooms amenities before releasing it to guests. It ended up tht my kids were using the toilet in a dark! 3) We were told tht the breakfast was halal but to our surprise, the hotel served pork and to make it worst, it was not served in a separate island. In fact, it was put next to other dishes tht made us very uncomfortable. My wife did not eat except drinking coffee and took some fruits. If the hotel management can look into the above, it should be a pretty nice hotel to stay.

A Good Option for Business Trips”
The Kibo Palace is everything that you would need for a business trip - good location close to the clocktower and the high-end restaurants, an in-house restaurant with good food, a comfortable bed, and high-speed internet. What it lacks for those who want to experience Tanzania, is character. It is a cookie-cutter hotel tailored to the global standard, which removes any defining characteristics from it that could tell you that you're still in Tanzania. But the staff are fantastic and accommodating, and if you're not looking for a true African getaway then this might suit your needs just fine.

Comfortable good hotel to recoup after a hike”
Overall enjoyable. The staff are very helpful and the pool is very nice. We didn't leave the hotel but had a nice dinner at the restaurant and drinks at the pool

The on-site luxury cars provided excellent transport for a business meeting and for a large group going to the airport. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with a wide range of choices, and hotel staff were attentive.
