Awesome hotel in a great location. Doesn't get much better. The only comment from me is about the room door which didn't latch properly. I noticed it didn't click when the door shut and with a little force I was able to open the door. It took some jiggling of the double lock feature and I was able to eventually lock it up solid.

The hotel has very dark deco and lightning from the reception lifts and rooms, bathrooms are very dated, overall I think a good overhaul is needed. Regards, James.

Terrible for a last minute booking”
missed my train so a last minute booking; Not a full set of Toiletries, Unconformable Pillows and wouldn't even help me with a phone charger. No where close to a 4* hotel.

Bitterly disappointed, curtains had what looked like vomit stains ! ”
Location is fantastic, but found staff not overly helpful. We had a major issue with cleanliness with what looked like vomit down the curtains.....really don’t understand how housekeeping could have missed this. They did change the curtains but without an apology and left us feeling awkward for pointing this out. We had a premiere twin room and from one bed you couldn’t lie and watch television as the division post was smack in the middle of the picture. All in all disappointed and would not recommend

great hotel but let down by the customer service”
planned a nice spa weekend away, called up to check the facilities - steam, sauna pool etc. was told when booking the spa was currently closed for. refurb but that it was reopening the day we arrive. went ahead with the booking. on arrival told that the spa was open but none of the facilities were ready until next month - the steam, sauna and pool. so rather disappointed but they did offer to let us book another hotel - very kind of them??????? when I raised the issue that I called and the website says the spa was now open all they did was ask who I spoke to etc. and played the blame game. very disappointing

Great hotel a bit pricey tho,we had to que for breakfast which for £160 is the first time we’d had to do that, when we did sit down for breakfast after about a 20 minute wait it was really good tho.

Malmaison is a great location in Birmingham right in the mailbox and walking distance to bullring, grand central and new street etc. Funky upscale bedrooms and great bar, receptionists were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Aircon filled with Bacteria gave me a cold in room Very loud with doors slamming especially when the cleaner was around in the morning guessing the cleaning cupboard was quite near to my room

The room was nothing special, considering the price. No water in the room, staff were unhelpful. However, it was a good location and the bar was good. Hotel du vin is much better! Due to the weather we were standed in Birmingham for the next night. We stayed at the holiday inn for for £69. I would stay there before the malmaison! What a shame, really disappointed as I’d heard such good things about this hotel. Gutted as it was our anniversary:(

Apart from the heating not working properly in couple of our rooms it was a nice stay. Staff were more than happy to give us extra heaters and duvets. Rooms are very luxurious

Very nice hotel in great location. My only complaint is the the bathroom in our room. We had an upgraded room (one up from the basic) and in truth the bathroom needed replacing. Shower was old fashioned and so was the sink and bath. It was clean but for the money you would expect something a bit more modern. Generally speaking, no complaints
