Location was convenient for the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, everything was within walking distance. A staff member was also kind enough to provide us with a discount ticket for some of the popular tourist places in Nagasaki. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for me and my friends.

This hotel is very near to Civic Hall tram that you can take if you want to go around the area. The room is also clean and nice.

Great time and cheap”
Good place close to the centre of the city. With Agoda I paid around 20€ taxes included (16€ without taxes)... It's cheap, right ?! Clean, staff really helpful (and speaking English), bed comfortable with AC . I need nothing more!

Great hostel with awesome staff”
The rooms are good but what makes this hostel stand out is its staff. The very creative boards with a ton of info and maps on food, activities and language tips put other hostels to shame.

The owner and the staffs are all very friendly and willing to help. The room is cozy and clean. Location is good, near to Megane Bridge and streetcar stop.

+ the hostel is located in a quite street right next to a lovely river with many old stone bridges. the girl who worked there made some calls for us and gave us a dorm room that without other guests. they carry your bags up for you -the guy (owner?)was quite unfriendly and denied some basic requests. they wont store your luggage after 8pm even if you would be willing to pay they did give a horrible recommendation for food and seemed quite uninformed about the things we could do around town. the facilities were rather worn down. they opened 2008 and that's when they bought the mattresses. so sleeping was no fun at all. they charged us 60€ for a double en suite where the shower was broken and the room was tiny and smelled old (we had stayed at other places with tatami mats and it did not smell like this) in general I would not recommend staying there until they fix their attitude towards guests and their facilities.

A Very Friendly Hostelthe”
This is the first time I visit Nagasaki, I surprisingly found that the staffs of AKARI are so kind and they gave me MANY information about my tour. First, they have their own map about the area nearby which can tell you the places to go. Second, they offer a discount card and it's VERY VERY useful since most of the famous place in Nagasaki can be discounted by this card (e.g. the rope way of Mt. Inasayama is 50% off). They also kindly answer your questions about the stay or the restaurant nearby. The equipment in AKARI is also sufficient without any worry.

Convenient location, and the staff provided us a discount card to major attractions. Highly recommended and value for money. No elevator, though, so it might be a little problem for those with heavy luggage.

I enjoyed my stay at the Akari in Nagasaki. The instructions given as to how to get to it from Nagasaki Main Railway Station are good. It is a very secure place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is kept clean. It is nicely situated on a river and just a short distance away from the tram stop. I would stay there again

Excellent little hostel, great location”
Located on a quiet little street along the river, with nice comfortable rooms, and lots of great food nearby. But it is still easy to do everything you want. All the attractions are easily accessible by tram and bus. The owner was very helpful and friendly. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
