Cosy guest house, close to town. Didn't realise until we got there that it was shared toilet and bathroom. Nevertheless there were no issues there as it was only us and one other group staying so there were never queues to use the facilities. Room was warm and comfortable. Hot water, communal fridge and microwave available for use. The host was super friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay. Would definitely return!

The owner very friendly and helpful, he come to station collect all our luggage so we can walk freely. Free shuttle to onsen, station after checkout and luggage pickup. Just at night very cold, the heater work fine but the position of heater is not good, it directly to door not the place we sleep.

Nice cosy place to stay. Yuji san provided transport to and from the train station during check in and in the mornings (8.30 or 9.15) in between, you can walk (didn’t try) or take a taxi ¥740. Place is showing its age...but nevertheless, still clean

Exceptional! ”
The host fetched us from Tobu Nikko Station using his car, which comfortably fit the 6 of us. The room we stayed in had 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds, perfect for our family. We were lucky since the room had an onsen type of bathroom, which only our family had access too. It was a great experience. Although the lodge was quite old, it was well maintained and you could definitely see that the host made some renovations in order to make his guests feel comfortable. The shared toilet looks new and was clean. The next morning, the host also gave us a free ride to the station. I will definitely come back if given a chance. Thank you so much!

Our stay at the Nikko Narusawa Lodge was great. Our host, Yuji, was very helpful to us. He offered a free shuttle between the home and the train station every day, he also offers a trip to a local onsen (public bath) every night. The fee for the bath itself is 800 yen. The place is filled with little notes explaining the facilities, ideal if you arrive early. The communal area is cozy, too. The only drawback would be the cleanliness of the communal areas. The rooms themselves are clean enough, but there were cobwebs in some corners of the corridors.

What can I say, I adored the place. Situated in a beautiful spot 15 minutes walk away from Nikko station. Yuji (the owner) is an amazing host. He does his absolute best to ensure your stay is comfortable and even goes out of his way to help you plan your activities in Nikko. He offers free pickup and drop off to and from the station. He was always friendly and very hospitable. When you walk into the place, there is a wall of thank you letters to yuji from people all around the world who loved their stay. This alone should tell you about the kind of host he is. I will definitely be back, and with friends next time!

Feels like staying at a friend's home ”
The owner (Yuji) will provide pick-up service from the train station which is 5-min drive from the guesthouse. The guesthouse is 20-min walk from the closest convenient store and the train station which is not a good idea to walk there when the weather is under 0 degree Celsius. But that has compensated with the kind hospitality of the owner who is always willing to help out with everything, there's even a sign in his house that says we can ask him for any help by knocking his bedroom door anytime (24h). It feels like staying at friend's house rather than a budget hostel/guesthouse.

Great hospitality from the host, Yuji-san. Provided us with shuttle services and took well care of our stay to the meticulous details, even though it was only for a short 3 night stay.

Decent and cheap place to stay at.”
Yuji-san, the person who runs the lodge is a very nice older man. His english was decent. I enjoyed my stay at Narusawa Lodge for two days. Yuji-san shuttles people for free to and from the local train station. He also recommends places to visit. I was happy with the service provided for the cost.

Nice and quiet place.”
It's a nice place to take a test in Nikko area. 15 mins walk from Nikko station. Comfortable Japanese style room with air conditioner. We had a quiet and warm night to recover from an exhausted trekking in the lodge.

Great Japanese Experience!”
It was a great experience staying at Narusawa Lodge. The host, Yuji-san, was really helpful and explaining everything in fluent english. He also knows a lot about the area, so he helps us a lot! The house is clean and homey, i feel like in my own home. It was lovely, and would be glad to come back again. Thank you, Yuji-san!

The place is brilliant. Japanese style rooms and bathroom. The owner Yuki is super helpful and interesting. Has some good tips for cutting costs with food. We'll definitely stay again.
