Cheated”

I was very upset that I was told on check out that I had to pay bed tax! the hotel said that the other service fees, taxes etc all went to Agoda, which I dont think is true. My understanding was I had paid Agoda up front and there was not extra costs. so to have to use my CC a 2nd time incurring extra charges for $3 bed tax per night is a cheat. Why was it not included up front.

Transit in Dar”

We stayed on our way in and out of Dar and were very happy with the facilities staff and food. Appreciate the quiet in a noisy city. Would definitely return and recommend

My Quaint Oasis ”

I stayed two extra nights so that tells you if was better than I expected. The pool was a nice bonus and it's a short taxi ride to see the sights. The staff have been wonderful. The WiFi worked perfectly and my shower was nice and strong.

It was a great experience. everyone of them were polite and helpful. Great food. Prakash was always there when I needed something. All in all fantastic. I will stay there again

WEEKEND STAY IN DAR ES SALAAM”

Stay was nice. We booked a twin room and was given a double bed room. We politely requested to move to a twin room. The receptionist Nene- became very hostile and unapproachable and we were eventually placed in a very small twin room in the corner on the third floor, despite the fact that a larger more comfortable twin room was available next to room we were originally given on pool level. The hotel was rather empty and the behaviour unacceptable considering our pre-booking and the fact that we were very polite about our request. I also completed a comments form on departure, but doubt if that was processed.

Excellent service, very good rooms”

I am a repeat customer, I think that says it all. After 3 weeks in Tanzania and having been in several hotels, the Protea courtyard has an unrivalled performance compared to many others, even much more expensive hotels

Well managed”

very pleasant and quiet place. Service is attentive, breakfast for European taste as well with fruits, yogurt, and, and. Only downside is the tiny pool, not really for swimming, but good enough for a dip after returning to the hotel

Comfortable, but very business oriented”

It is a high hotel with high standards and very comfortable. Good rooms and a nice little outdoor area with a small swimmingpool. But when we were there, there was a lot conferences and business folk around the area, in the restaurant, bar and by the pool – it's not a place where you would like to jump into your bathing suit and jump in the pool, when four business men are having a lunch meeting right next to the water. I would recommend this hotel for people doing business or having a short stay in Dar Es Salam. It's not really a holiday hotel. The service of the staff and manager are very excelent. Very kind.

This could be a nice boutique hotel if staff and management made and effort and actually cared about customer service. This was especially evident in all food and beverage areas. Maintenance was somewhat lacking, WiFi did not work for most of my stay. All in all pretty mediocre.
