Best value in Punta Cana for 5 star all inclusive”
Riu Republica is a no-frills classic 5 star ALL-INCLUSIVE resort with a nice beach area, good food, excellent wi-fi (almost non-interrupted), many pools, good gym and large, clean rooms. Although the interior design of the rooms can be improved (for example, to add a working desk), I can say that it offers probably the best all-inclusive value for Single Travellers in Punta Cana (having stayed at a couple more resorts in the area). They do only buffet and the food is good, not exceptional but again, I can't stress enough about the good value it offers. Wish I could stay longer there. Recommended!

The rooms are sparkling with adequate terrace space and stocked with refreshments including cold authentic local beer, if the staff notice you prefer light beer then the next restocking will have that instead ready for you. Best place to be roomed is right in the center o you’re not too far from the beach/jerk hut/parties nor the waterslides/gym/restaurants. Food in the restaurants was delicious, buffet is hit or miss but a TON of options. Never a line for the water slides (NO KIDS! Lol) Staff was incredibly hospitable, there are both quiet and party areas so have your pick throughout your stay. Super affordable as well with Platinum Membership. October is when airfare is cheapest but the resort is far from desolate. Access to real Cuban cigars in the gift shop to enjoy under the palms that line the sand dunes separating the beach from the pool area. Hopefully will be returning with family.

My friends and I stayed at the RIU in February 2021 and had an amazing time. The staff were very pleasant. The food was okay BUT the drinks were GOOD. My only complaint was the room had a lot of ants.

Great time for a group of friends & mingle w new ones. A few tips. Everyone pays per person not per room so no need to share rooms. Sprawl out! Also the double room option wont give you a king bed although is an option when booking. Choose a standard room. Not much music around not even in the 24hour bar. Most people had speakers to party on. Quiet hours suck and its starts at 11:30pm. As of now club is closed & no liquor bottles are distributed in the rooms. The rooms are nice and quiet even with the housekeeping crew constantly talking loudly in the hallway. & the blackout curtains are perfection! The property is large and there is no need to venture out except maybe to a casino or nightclub. Surrounding beaches are not any better. I was pleasantly surprised by the buffet but the rest of the restaurants were lacking. The staff is pleasant and a nice smile and a few tips go a long way to getting whatever you need.

Had an ant problem, switched rooms, had another ant problem. I didn't drink or have food in the room. Everything else was very good, good four star experience, just struggled with ants.

No quiet place here”
I'll start with the best things about this hotel. The staff is excellent, service is top notch and the selection of food and drinks is good. But there are things that need to be fixed starting with the cleanliness of the walkways, pool areas and beach lounging. Grass areas away from the beach area are littered with papers, cigarette butts and trash. Walkways are stained and always dirty with spills, hair, and sand as are the areas around the pools. I never saw anyone cleaning these areas and I was there 9 days. The beach area is trashed with cigarette butts, food remains, cups and napkins. The lounge chairs are full of sand and look like they are never cleaned. There was a scuba employee sleeping most of the day under the palms surrounded by propped up loungers making a tented area. The sand is never raked or cleaned. I stepped over old chicken bones laying around. Cups and dishes are only collected at the end of the day and pile up everywhere. The staff needs to gather any discarded cup or plate the minute they see it not wait till sunset. The beach needs a light at night. It is completely dark and not conducive to walking after dark. Covers over the pool are broken in need of repair. TV channels are very poor. Only about 5 English speaking channels and 3 of them didn't have volume including channels 43 and 44. Being so close to the USA this shouldn't be an issue especially with satellite connections. I was at the RIU in Montego Bay where the staff played games including guests almost all day long. I played BINGO and won a game but I don't drink and was offered a bottle of booz. I requested a hat but they said no. You should offer prizes other than liquor. I didn't play games after that. I go to the beach to relax but found Mexican music blasting loud at every bar and pool. I couldn't get away from it. There are signs prohibiting boom boxes but people still brought them to the pool and used them walking down the hallways full blast. I just wanted one p

We have never taken an all inclusive so we tried this one out. It’s more for the party crowd would suggest this for couples.

Food is ok, drinks are juice basically, the staff is great, location nothing to do around but the high price trips offer by the hotel. Not bad but would not stay again.

I did enjoy my stay at the resort except music was not versatile for tourists and the food was the same everyday which was breakfast, lunch and dinner I stayed 5 days and all days the buffet was the exact for each day. Also no pool towels was available sometimes I had to wait 30mins to 1 hour for pool towels.

While I loved being at the pool and lounging around, this resort mainly attracts the younger generation. Food was below average. Rooms were nice but you can hear EVERYTHING through the paper thin walls. Most nights you have people yelling while going to the room. Nice big resort. Would recommend to the folks that want to go out every night to party.

The rooms are probably below average but the hospitality, faculties, and entertainment are what makes it a worth wild experience. The dinner locations are all pretty nasty. Loved the breakfast and jerk chicken. Definitely a good resort for the price. Just don’t be expecting much from the food or rooms
