Location near all of the major attractions”
This hotel is located near the major shopping bizarre, Kumomoto Castle, and a centralized bus station that's attached to a rather nice mall. The nightlife around the hotel (in the arcade area) is quite vibrant. Lot's of food, shopping, and things to do nearby. We took a taxi to from the main station to the hotel at a cost of $12usd and it took less than 10 minutes. The room was the typical Japanese sized room (think slightly bigger than a kitchen table). Very clean and service was friendly. We used the laundry facilities on the top floor as well.

3 peaceful nights in Kumamoto ”
The hotel is very well located, we were able to achieve a great round of the city starting from there, all by feet. The room was clean, a double bed and a single bed for 3 people. We were nicely welcomed with a cup a coffee and the district around is full of restaurants and bars.

Convenient and Clean”
My friends and I went to Kumamoto to celebrate her birthday and we reserved Riverside Hotel Kumamoto for a night. The staff were really nice and things were very convenient in the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Location is good, 3-5 min walk to the walking street with bars and shops also bus station. 15-20 Min walk to kumamoto castle, but it was closed for reconstruction now. From kumamoto jr station about 30min walk or take bus about 10mins. Seems some rooms are not re-decorated, and if you stay in those rooms , not worth the money.

Near to the SakuraMachi Bus Station ”
Far away from Kumamoto train station. However, its near to the Sakura Machi bus station and one local tram station. It is near to the shopping street. Overall is value for money.

The air con in the room stopped working in the middle of the night and the room gets stuffy and hot, tried to restart the air con few times but still couldn’t function properly. I had to open the room window and get fresh air but it was so noisy outside since the hotel is located right next to the main road. I even hurt my finger when opening the window. I had the worst night of sleep in the whole trip. Please improve.

I stayed here for 2 nights, 1st day was really upset. Room 314. Wanted to change room but full that day. The decoration is aged, table is old, the refrigerator was not working, the bathroom is dirty. The 2nd day changed the room,then I feel like Japan. Location is good, 5 min walk to the walking street with bars and shops also station.

Super Dusty Room, I cannot sleep well!!”
This is bad experience ever in Japan! I been visit Kumamoto on 2019 with others hotel but nearest to this hotel. In this year, I'm very disappointed i choose this hotel. Regarding staff service average is fine, welcoming staff over the counter, sincerely to keep the luggage until afternoon after we checkout. Location is fine, nearest Shinshikai easy to shopping and eat. The room is sooooo dusty!!! Very dusty, the nose until throat is itching all and i keep coughing in whole night. The rooms is located at 9th floor. I wonder are there well clean on the carpet and the bed sheet? Or else this room is empty couple of months? We can't sleep well at all, is suffering we surrounded with super dusty bed! Is not worth that I paid 8xxx¥ to this hotel. I'm not expect the perfect to enjoy, because it's trouble my sleep also will affected my next day trip!!

Not car friendly ”
Car park located 2 blocks away, if you have few luggages, you will need to carry it from car park to the hotel. Hard to park in front of hotel to drop off, not recommended for visitor with car. I commended to front desk on the car park. She just said ‘oh! yah’ Overnight car park is 1000 yen. Closed to shopping place.
