Great First Experience at a Ryokan!”

The ryokan was what I had expected and more. The staff were very considerate and there to assist and answer any of my questions. I highly recommend getting a personal onsen in your room because it's worth it. The location was also a plus because it's only a quick 5-10min walk to the bus station for Kamikochi and other neighboring sites.

Hotel was so perfect”

Hotel was perfect. The environment all around was so beautiful. The transportation to hotel was easy and convenient. The services in the hotel were nice and friendly. Thank you for taking good care of us.

Amazing Ryokan but management needs flexibilty and some staff needs to be more polite”

This place is a gem don't get me wrong. They have the most beautiful private and public onsen. The best Hida beef dinner buffet, breakfast set & free ramen. To be honest I was the one who was wrong as I clicked 1 traveler in my itinerary as I was trying to book this property right away and (Agoda should put the setting to 2 travelers instead of 1 for confusion sake). I have been a VIP Agoda user for almost 10 years and first time it happend to me. Anyways, when I got there and realized my mistake, the property charged me almost the same price of 1 traveler. When I checked way back the price was just 3k php. But I was charged almost 8k php when I got there. To make it worse the room we got was the smallest and after charging a 2nd person we were not offered a free dinner for the 2nd person so we had to order ala carte. There should be some flexibility and reasonableness with this kind of situation. I guess it was fully booked and high season. Anyways still recommend this place.

Excellent onsen hotel”

Everything was perfect for an onsen retreat. Except dinner was not up to expectation.

Serene location with excellent foods and services”

We are greeting with a staff who run out to help us with the luggages the moment our car turned in. The hotel is very accommodating when I requested for a last minute change in the dinner menu.

Don't come to this romantic getaway solo. Come with a loved one. Have breakfast with a view and soak in the private onsen which could be booked over the counter. Enjoy free noodle and milk during a specific time as well. Loved my stay here. Will definitely come back. Hopefully not alone the next time round.

Stay here for 1 night, staff are very freindly and helpful. Location is not far from bus station (approx. 500m). Also ,there is private bathtub in the room.

Nice ryokan with good services and nice onsen”

We stayed for 4 nights and were very happy with our stay. The ryokan is very clean and well kept. The breakfast was plentiful (Japanese style). The ryokan arranges free shuttle rides to Kamikochi but they don't start very early in the morning and might be already booked if not booked in advance. But the public bus station is just a 5 min walk away and there are buses to Kamikochi every half an hour or so. In Kamikochi if you are looking for a hike in adddition to walking the main routes along the Azusa river, try the hike to Dakesawa hut. It can be well done in one day, it took us 2,5 hours to climb up (our children are 12 and 14 years). With small children the hike might be a bit too challenging (vertical rise about 650 m). The main onsen at the Miyami Ouan ryokan was really nice, with own sides for women and men. There are also private onsens that you can reserve. The ryokan also provides free Huda milk (delicious) and free ramen at 10 pm every night (also delicious).

Wonderful for in-house hot springs and a waterfall within walking distance (2-3 miles). Ski resort close by as well. Great for a honeymoon. Far away from everything. Authentic Japanese place. Dead town during rainy season. If you can get there and pay the price, it’s worth it. 5 hours to get there by bus from Tokyo. Having a car would be beneficial.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for an Onsen experience and some nature. This is 25 mins from Kamikochi which is in National Park. The free shuttle bus to Kamikochi was awesome though I wish the last one back was later than 2:15. Nice spacious rooms, loved the circular stone bathtub in my room.

The staff were always so helpful. The setting in the mountains and sitting in the outside Onsen watching snow fall.. spectacular and then there was the traditional food. Definitely a two night stay recommended.

Had the room with the private onsen bath which was beautiful, looking out at the snowy garden and snow capped mountains. Breakfast was good and the grilled hida beef dinner was excellent. Can skip the shabu shabu though. Hotel provides free ramen and milk as well as some snacks during certain hours so good to check when you are there. Very helpful staff with some speaking very good english. will love to come again.
