Best Ryokan Onsen Experience”
Lot of Japanese visitors and with English Friendly staff. Amazing traditional Japanese inn experience, room amenities to hot springs to amazing meal. Location is great, center of it all yet location has feel of mountain private inn. Let them know when you are coming and leaving to provide shuttle to enjoy the great host from beginning to end. Kiseki style dinner and breakfast, this is where you will love it like my wife and me or ....You have to enjoy local meal preparation to fully appreciate this place. Room was very comfortable with everything you need. Tip! Onsen woman at night/left side is better side similar theme in other places. Lots to see and shop and do like hike or ski in this town. Immerse yourself in this amazing Japanese inn and you will appreciate Japanese people hospitality care and attention to detail. Videos in YouTube was good but felt meal presentation and rooms were better.

Perfect Service, great foods and excellent location”
Will definitely recommend this Onsen Resort to my friends and stay there again next time when I visit this lovely town. Arrived late the day but the staff was so nice to delay their kitchen closure time, so I got to enjoy the wonderful warm dinner after long traveling. The hotel room is newly decorated and facilities are very clean and nice. Staffs are very friendly and always providing thoughtful serivce at any time. Foods are presented beautifully and taste good. After check-out, we were sent to the bus station by arranged hotel shuttle, so we didn’t have to climb hills with luggage’s.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. It comes with the dinner and the breakfast so it is very easy for a short stay. The room is clean and it is very close to main sight seeing spots. Would like to visit again.

Place is very clean and the baths are very nice, they rotate the use of the baths for males and females so that both can enjoy the facilities.

Comfortable Onsen Stay at Kusatsu”
It's our first time to be in Kusatsu and we enjoyed it very much, mostly because of Naraya. Staff was very friendly and always willing to help us out. Room was clean and neat. The onsen was not crowded even it was New Year. We also got to see the "Mochitsuki" which is a new year tradition there.

No bath in the room. You must take bath in the public spring bath. If you don’t like spring bath, better not to choose it as there is no bath fscility inside your room.

Traditional Japanese Hotel ”
Hotel is a bit below my expectation given the high price in the area. Hotel is an old traditional one which is quite nice. Staff service is good. Room is not particularly impressive. Dining for the first night was quite disappointing. Second night was good. Onsen is good though small. I understand that special request was not guaranteed but the request of not the first or last room should be easily accommodated as guests usually stay for one night but we were allocated to the last room of the floor

If looking for good location for the site, They provide nice services and traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast Really good experience for tourism Of course internal have their private hot spa Very convenient for purchase and eating outside the hotel

It was my best Ryokan experience ever”
The only reason why I would go all the way to Kusatsu would be for one reason - staying in a traditional Ryokan to experience traditional Japan. Naraya was the perfect place and fulfilled my fantasy dreams of feeling the traditional beauty and hospitality of Japan. I could only say two thumbs up! Naraya deserves to be rated at the top; my favorite pick and best Kaiseki dinner I had in years!!!

Have been to so many luxury Ryokans. Staffs are polite but lack of warm hospitality. A bit Cold. Food wise is disappointing. With the price tag and form my experiences. They have less variety of food, welcome food is just a pack of cookies. For the Private Onsen room is a huge disappointment, the light full of black molds, the room is very dark. No welcome snacks or tea, Just water in the room. you can stay for 45 mins but we stayed around 15 mins and left, it feels dirty and not comfort to stay for any longer. I won't recommend anyone who has been to another luxury Ryokans before. This is way overpriced for what they deliver. I hardly leave any review.

Very convenient location. Hotsprings and food were great. Staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Clean traditional Japanese rooms. Most importantly, I loved the heritage of the ryokan.. It was truly a wonderful and memorable experience. I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely recommend Ryokan Naraya for anyone visiting the Kusatsu area.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful even with the language barrier. The breakfast and dinner were beautifully presented, delicious and such big portions we couldn't finish. The ryokan is in an ideal location. There are a choice of Onsen baths, private/public/ indoor/outdoor/ wood or ceramic etc. would not hesitate to recommend.
