Every thing was excellent. Stunning views. Very courteous and receptive staff. We were in Hawana for a week. One day in Rotana and the rest in an apartment. I didn't know Rotana will be so good, otherwise we'd have stayed there for our entire vacations. (The Hawana project is near Taqa, half an hour drive from Salalah)

Very nice location. Very slow internet connection in the room despite router 30 cm away. Loved the big swimming pool. Not so much impressed, quite sad about food options. If you are vegan, like we are, you are going to starve. I would go back if i could find a restaurant open any time of the day, that serves good food for reasonable prices.

Doesn’t deserve the 5th star and the 4th is questionable ”
Arrival experience: Nobody at the main entrance gate to assist you with the direction and once at lobby still nobody during 5 minutes to help us with luggages. 1st night: Room given is smelly (after complaining, it is true I was offered to change but it was already late at night and after a 10 hours drive with baby not ideal to change right away). Requested baby bed was missing, bathrobe and sleepers also. We were awakened early morning by the refurbishment work happening one floor above our room !! Rooms soundproofing is so poor we could feel ourselves in the neighbor room watching with him his TV. Beach access was denied (safety reason) at that period of the year and we were not Informed prior to traveling. They are quite few other things but disappointment is the overall feeling. Only positive aspect is the restaurant very well managed by Mr. Larbi who succeed to draw a smile on our face thanks to its cuisine and his amazing personality.

Internet too slow compare with five stars hotels. First night I slept the room ac wasn’t cool despite they told me they fixed. Tv Channels very few. I ordered food wasn’t that professional. I think the hotel need re-evaluation. I don’t recommend.

The good things about this resort are it's location, big swimming pool and breakfast. However, I was disappointed with the room. I stayed in a classic family room. The furniture standard can get 4 or even 3 stars only. No Hi-Tech at all. Very limited TV channels (no paid channels). There was always noise comming from the adjacent room. There is a complimentary coffee and tea, but no spoon or stick to stir the sugar. The balcony door doesn't lock!. One day they didn't come for housekeeping, I had to call them to come. No iron machine. The room lights is very low, dark inside. There was a sewage smell outside at the evening.

All wrong at the No-tana”
The culture among the staff there is No....I am a gold Rotana member....any upgrade or effect on the room? Just a short we're full no. After my first night no housekeeping...when I called they told me it's your fault, you put the do not disturb sign out...I did not of course. I asked the restaurant for a to go coffee early before a drive...No. Need an extra towel? No, what's YOUR room number. Room service one night took an hour an then they forgot items. I asked for late check out and I'll the front desk said ok ...but before that came...I started getting calls every hour before what I arranged. When you checking out??? And at check out what I asked is they hold the room w one card and I would check out w another...a common request...they had OVER charged the first and it could not be refunded...No. they should be called the Notana. If you want to feel most unwelcome at a resort...by all men's book it.

Not a 5 stars Resort!!”
The facilities was ok, huge swimming pools and nice gardens around the rooms and beach view. Breakfast was ok however the menu was the same for my whole stay ( 3 nights). I was not happy with the room at all, as when I arrived and checked in into the room; it wasn’t clean and smelled humidity from the walls and in addition to that The room wasn’t ready to accommodate 2 Adults + 2 children as per what I paid for. Room does have only one double bed and small sofa!! Room was changed upon my request when I commented about the smell of the room but with the same size which does not match my requirement according to my online reservation. I raised the issue 3 times with no action, then at the second night I went to the reception and asked to meet the manager in charge and explained that 4 people are sleeping on one bed while I paid for a room to accommodate family. Finally they provided one noisy old steel bed! House keeping was very poor, sheets and towels wasn’t change every day

Not really a 5 stars hotel, not even from far. Not for that price. Walls of the rooms so thin you could hear other guests speaking. Staff in general is polite but took always time to get things done. Beach is not nice at all to be a 5 stars, not clean enough and facilities are old. No service at all.

One of the worse hotels I have ever been to the service was extremely bad and the rooms were dirty”
Bed sheets had stains on them, we ordered a club cart an hour earlier and it showed up late, most of the times no one picks up the phone in the reception and the staff are not friendly at all to be specific a European reciptionst was very dull and had a bad mood and the food was not tasty at all, ATM machine was not working no one repaired it, no one cares about the guestes except for one worker who was called Abdul rasol such a kind person he tried to help and make it up but overall bad hotel and bad service would never advice anyone to come here ever!

Salalah Rotana Resort”
We recently stayed at the property in Nov’22 and liked very much the overall resort, private beach area, facilities like kids club (did not use though), tennis courts, cycling track. Rooms are pretty decent in size and will recommend ground floor rooms for it comes with patio/lounge like set up and clusters closer to beach (5-8). Staff is extremely nice, shout out to a few Bangladeshi, Indian and Tunisian staff - very courteous and always helpful. While the breakfast “spread” was pretty Ok but can easily do removing few items and adding perhaps a little bit of Omani cuisine. (Same for dinner). Had an incident at the resort (won’t mention as it was no fault of Resort) but the staff quickly changed my rooms and property manager Mr Ebrahim was extremely kind and courteous. Location wise - if you plan to visit Wadi Darbat, Mughsail etc - then this location is right in the middle with most locations (sinkhole, wadi, ayns, taqah and mirbat castle etc) are much closer from this side of the city (50-70 kms 😝). Finally - it’s a beautiful resort, wonderful people. PS - no Indian food at hotel/nearby.
