My 19-year-old daughter and I stayed here, and we now have memories we'll never forget!! We did the sunset camel ride and stayed in a tent where the beds were comfortable. The owners have done a great job. It's not cheap though but you get 2 good meals included. Highly recommend.

Wonderful camp in the middle of the desert.Room was large and clean,bed was comfortable,authentic desert experience.Located in front of large sand dune which one can climb up and walk along.Buffet dinner and breakfast was delicious and food was of high quality.Staff were very kind and helpful.

Great experience. Is is not 5star luxury resort, but best place to feel desert. Room is clean, hot shower available, food(dinner & breakfast) is delicious, especially most of the staff is very friendly. Behind the camp, there is high hill that you can climb up. To reach this desert camp, you should drive 14km sandy road. Therefore reducing your tire pressure to 16psi recommended. Also I recommend you to arrive before 5pm(not to miss sunset), and wake up before 6am(not to miss sunrising) Definitely recommended.

Sama al Wasil Camp is spectacular on every level - from location, through service to cuisine. We couldn't possibly ask for more. Do yourself a favor and book a one hour sand bashing sunset trip - speechless!

Great desert experience with all anemities”
The Sama Al Wasil Desert Camp is an upscale accommodation in the middle of the desert. It still got all anemities, great rooms or tents and excellent service. The design is traditional. Dinner and breakfast were OK, I would have liked more local Omani cuisine. Rooms were spacious and clean. Recommended!

This resort is a beautiful place in the middle of sand dunes. The room is very clean and an air conditioner in the room is provided. The dinner and breakfast are included. More over the resort staffs are very friendly and nice. They are willing to help and answer your questions. They have a sand bashing and camel riding services as well. Finally, I'd recommend to visit this place. Thank you!

Good desert experience”
We stayed for just a night as part of our road trip experience in Oman. For a desert camp, it ticks all the boxes. Room is comfy though not luxurious. However, we didnt mind as we were there only for a night and didnt expect any luxury. Do note that there is no wifi and no celcom signal probably due to location. For city dwellers who can barely survive without wifi, this could be make them feel bored or restless.

Need a 4x 4 car 15mns drive to access the Sama Wasil Camp, since it’s in the middle of desert, track only, no road. Activities like dune bashing can easily be arranged.

Now they don't have any activity, other than dune bashing, which is pretty expensive at RO 30/-. No buggies or nothing being organised for tourists.

We stayed at Sama al Wasil camp for a night during the hot season Staff is welcoming ,friendlly and eager to assist. Chalets are very clean and neat ( and decor is totally adapted for a very sandy environement) Food is very good. Many activities to choose from. Bring your cooler box and soft drinks though ! Except for water Getting a drink at Sama hotel and Lodges out of meal time is nearly impossible.

Food was great but difficult access to internet”
Room was comfy and pretty clean, bathroom was clean too. Main highlight of our stay here is the food, dinner and breakfast was fantastic! We love the Camel BBQ satay and everything else was flavorful. We paid for 4WD pick up and drop, a steep price for 20 minutes ride but we have no choice since did not have 4WD car. Maybe it would be economical if there were 4 persons, it was only 2 of us. What also lack from the stay was access to internet, mobile network coverage was so bad, almost to none. They do not provide wifi, maybe this is part of the experience; to be in the middle of the desert, tranquility and all without distraction of mobile phone, but I am not into it, so I was a bit bored by that. Luckily we only stayed for 1 night.
