The owners are very nice and accommodating”

The place is near a train station just a few meters from Higashi Shinjuku subway station. The free breakfast is acceptable (you get what you paid for). The owners are very nice and friendly, the rooms are okay for us since we're just there to sleep as most of the day you're outside.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 3 nights it was ok, didn't really expect much. We knew it was a short stay, the bed was really comfy ( surprisedly). We choose the 2 private bunk with a shared bathroom, the bathroom was ok could've been cleaner. But the best thing was during the time we stayed there was no one was staying in the other rooms, basically kinda had the room to ourselves. The location was super close to everything, it was super close to the next place we were staying at, I didn't realize how close it was. Alot of korean reastuant around the area.

Provided room not acceptable as per booking”

I'm make a booking for 4 person for 1 room. She gave me 1 room with 1 double bed only (the room too small). How could you imagine 1 bed share for 2 person? (How come small bed can share?) the reason she gave me this room is that this room can up to 4 person, she said. I choose/paid this room for 4 person which is she should provide me 2 double bed. Suddenly she said she willing to give me the bigger room but I need to pay another extra 5000yen to get this room (1 double bed & 1 queen bed). If you still need this hotel you better make a booking separately with 2 by 2 per 1 room. Please note that no towel provided. You need to pay 200yen for 1 towel! I pay another extra 5000yen to get bigger room (I have no choice) and the pillow only got 3 instead of 4 that should I get. Highly not recommended!!

Expensive hostel but good staff”

Basic hostel with good location (near to shin-obuko station JR, nearby alot of 7/11, family mart), shared bath and toilet, has washing maxhine and dryier(300 and 100 yen per usage). N real complain but really exp for basic hostel.

Excellent location, nice chilled hostel ”

Great hostel. Having no windows is a bit weird, and the bar was completely dead on the nights I was there (mid Feb) but everyone just drinks outside to meet each other. There's a convenience store just down the road and the hostel is walking distance to shinjuku which makes it easy for shopping and going out.

It had a bed”

If you dont expect much you will be fine as it is budget accommodation. I was in a seperate appartment down the road from their actual place which i didn't expect. There was a washing machine but it was not connected so of no use. Hot water and heater works and the bed was comfortable. If you travel then you dont want to spend all day in your hostel anyway and for what i paid and over the new year period i can't complain too much. Its better than nowhere to sleep.

Tiny and dirty”

When I arrived here I was sharing a mixed dorm with several other people. The rooms are set up so that there is almost no space between any of the bunk beds. It's incredibly difficult to walk past someone when you only have a shoulder's width of space to move in. There is also zero privacy in the room, since none of the bunk beds have curtains or the like, so if you're in a mixed dorm you have to wait to use the washroom if you want to change. The washrooms themselves are also disappointing. The mirror was dirty, the floor was almost always wet, and I did not even want to set foot in the shower given how grimy it was. All in all, this was not a well-maintained facility.

nice place to stay”

we had a nice time here. the quad room was very small but luckily we were 3 people so had the spare bunk for bags. Beds were. very hard and door locks beep so it could be noisy. very quiet once everyone was asleep. Good staff and. spoke some english and were very helpful. Beware of booking early through a hotel agency as we were overcharged when the hotel wouldnt accept payment at the current exchange rate. We ended up paying the equilivent of AUD $20 extra due to this. same problem at another hotel. shared. toilets snd showers were clean.

Best part of town, but not the classiest part.”

If you are a traveller this is perfekt. If you are a Tourist and have problems with al kind of stuff. No. I Think it was far much better than severál places in afrika for an example. But there is a good bed and nice clean water, god showers. As I say, Money are less here and you have a tiny room by your self instead of a capsule. I love the Shinjuku part of Tokyo where this hostel lays. If you stay in tokyo you still need metro where ever you stay. Get Pasmo for cheep metro!

Summary”

I know that this a hostel..area were people hangout is kinda like a mess ..lots of junk outside ..the lounge wasn't that organized ..feels like they're doing some repairing for the hostel which causes disturbance to the people who stays at this hostel..I know fact that this is a hostel but try not to do some drilling of some parts of this hostel ..I understand if co-travelers makes noise but even the staff and owner are so loud .. :-/

I didnt know how we ended to this hostel, the location is quite far from stations & in the front of hostel there were so many box-stacks, the room was so compact, the staf was unfriendly.. Bathroom & other location in this hostel were dirty..i wont come here again or even suggest the hostel to my other traveller friends. Agoda should move out this hostel from the list

Nice”

It's a little bit difficult for 1st time to go there. Actually, it took around 10 mins to the station. (But noted which rail line you need to take!) It's clean enough and you can eat & talk with yr friends comfortably. The room is a little bit crowded, but leisure place is quite big!

Sophiearth Hostel”

Notified the "hotel" of expected late arrival of about 11pm. Arrived after walking through narrow dark streets. Was told to sit on a bench. After about 20 minutes was told that I was to be driven to another location. When arrived at other "location" the accomodation was a living room of someones house. There was a staircase that passed through the room. I was told only 1 woman was upstairs. Two men passed through the room several times. When I voiced my concern I was reprimanded and scolded. The reservation was totally different from what was provided. This was not a genuine business. There was no checkin procedure, no passports examined. Who knows who the other men were. This was not what I paid for and reserved.

it's quite hidden in the center of shinjuku, so it's not easy to get there. however, they do have extremely friendly staffs! quite a lot of food varieties there too~
