This is the 5 star hostel”
I do definitely recommend this hostel to anyone. The cleanest I have even been at. About five minutes walk from a subway. 24 hours hot water. Shower water pressure is amazing. The staff are amicable and helpful. The hostel is also within proximity to Seven Elevan and other places such as MacDonald, restaurants and etc. Sequrity is 100%; after all the hostel is located about 5 minutes from the police station. I could go on and on, but let me leave the rest for you to find out. Will definitely stay at Tokyo Guest House if I ever return to Japan. Thank you all at the hostel!!

The only downside is the far away location, about an hour with transportation to tokyo center. But other than that, everything was great considering the low price. The staff was super helpful, and there's great atmosphere at the small bar at the hostel.

Great for low-budget options”
The guesthouse is a great option if you don't want to spend much money on a hotel and don't mind staying in Tokyo's quieter and more local north. It has a cosy feel to it and quite a few people were using the shared space together to hang out. We only stayed on night and didn't sleep so well. Even though it's in a relatively quiet neighbourhood, it's on the corner of a main street with the sound of cars all night. The room was pretty worn down, however, spacious. We were surprised to find out that check-in is only possible until 10pm and that the reception is only manned from 11am to 11pm. I'm not sure if I would stay again, but I guess it's a good option if you want to stay somewhere cheaply, listen to some live music in the evening and chat to other people.

Poor communication and response”
I was travelling with my parents & our flights were scheduled to land late at night & we could only check-in later at night when we arrived. When I make the booking, I have requested for a late check in. However, when we arrived, the main door were locked & there were no staff to open the door,or to check us in. We were told by a few guests that the reception closed earlier & there are no staff who resides there & we were unable to check in that night. We were tired from the flight and in a foreign country but we had to seek for another accommodation late at night with 2 elderly person. The next morning when we went back to the guest house, they informed us that their policy do not allow late check in & they did not received any communication from Agoda regarding the late check in. I checked with Agoda & were informed that all request from the guest would be communicated to the guesthouse. In conclusion, no proper explanation were given to me nor any compensation. Such disappointment.

Everything is fine, except kitchen ”
Tidy bed, clean bathroom and shower, it should be fine if you don't cook by yourself. There are a great amount of cockroaches in the kitchen (even in microwave), so get your things cooked outside is highly recommended.

Good convinient Guest house”
A bit far from Tokyo central city but worth staying there on an economic budget. Having access to a kitchen and hot shower makes it a deal on this site.

Pretty much average ”
Everything you would expect from a guesthouse, nothing worse or better. The bed is slightly dirty and uncomfortable but the overall facilities are quite clean. Service is okay and location is good. Value of money I would say is great since this was the cheapest option even during holiday season.

Recommended hostel in Tokyo!”
The hostel is located a short walk up the hill from Oji Station. It is reasonably priced, and the inside is kept clean. I stayed in a dormitory room, and bath towels are included as a service. A mini-kitchen is provided for easy cooking. Reception staff is friendly. I will stay again. Thank you.

Thank you for the best experience in Tokyo. Away from the crowded town vibe, good place to restart and very good facility and staff. Nowhere will stay again in Tokyo except this guesthouse

Great value for your money”
Started on the wrong foot due to miscommunication about changing the check in date but in the end I had an excellent stay. Booked for 7 nights a private room, it had air conditioning and a window. Toilets and showers were shared, always available and clean. The staff is easy to reach, free towels and changing of towels during your stay. Compared to other hostels I stayed in in Japan, it was really quiet, I never heard another guest through the walls. There is a small shared living room with tv and a kitchen, I did not use the kitchen as there were quite some small cockroaches walking around through the dishes, I guess this is normal in a big city but that was the only negative thing I can think of. The insects were nowhere to be found in the rooms though (trust me I was searching for them). The hostel is located really close to Oji station from which you can take JR or subway to the city center(s). Also there is an excellent bib gourmand ramen place just around the corner (with no waiting lines!!). For the price you pay it is a great deal!

I already book this hotel in agoda and i don't know responsibility in hotel of agoda website but when i book it, i choosen 1 adult and 1 kid-5 years old and the confirmation for booking showed that information in the email : 1 adult, 1 kid, type room is 4 bed dormitory, breakfast including. However, when i and my son went hotel, the staff said no, not permit to stay with kid, only adult can stay. What's happen? If I stay there, how about my son-5years? that's terrible! If you don't allow stay with kid please show clear in the confirmation booking. I was so angry. I had to find the new hotel. Please don't do that again. i have never booked in this agoda any time.

Small little gem ”
Had a sudden change of plans once I arrived in Tokyo and stayed here. Thought it was so nice we tried to continue our stay here, but it was fully booked. Can't fault it. Nice atmosphere and the staff were great. Bed were comfortable and the room was nice. Would stay there again... Shame (for me) it was fully booked...

Amazing place to stay!”
I traveled with my sister and stayed in Tokyo Guest House for 3 nights. They have nice facilities, clean bathrooms/showers/toilets and updated furnishings. My ONLY complaint is that the soundproofing is not very good. We were also in a room by the stairs, so we heard people going up and down the stairs, in addition to noises from other guests who were hanging out downstairs. We were able to sleep, but light sleepers may have more trouble. If I could suggest a quiet hours, that would help. The receptionist and owner are so nice! I would definitely stay here again.
