This was my last part of the trip in Japan and it certainly gave a perfect ending to it. I took a long distance bus from the Nagasaki station here to Obama. It was about 5min of walking from the bus stop along the main road. There was a Lawson right next to it &the foot bath, sea, and sunset view right across the the road. I cdnt have imagined a better location. The room the tradtional Japanese style. private roof bath tubs have great sunset &sea views. Also well equiped public bath.

We stayed in Jap style room with seaview. Lawson is 1min away. The hotel is close to the 105m footbath.

It's a good ryokan for the price. Unfortunately, there are not enough towels in the room. But I'm satisfied with the other facilities.

Great front desk lady who helped us check in. Held an umbrella for us when getting out of the car. The private onsen on the roof top was perfect for couples. The tatami sleeping mats were sufficient.

I actually booked this place by accident. When I got to Nagasaki, I meant to stay closer to the city center. I had planned to cancel my booking, but when I got to the place... it was so nice that I couldn't leave. Now I am looking forward to going back! It is far from the city center, but if you want a nice little Japanese escape... this place is pretty perfect!

Ryokan in centre of Obama”

Located in the middle of Obama, and is nicer on the inside than is suggested by its exterior facade. Nice Japanese breakfast and very friendly staff.

Posh Ryokan in Sleepy Resort Town”

I should start out by saying that if you are not very interested in Japanese culture or are looking for a Western-style hotel, this is not the place for you. There is little English spoken, the rooms are equipped with tatami floors and futons instead of beds, and the main appeal is the public bathing in water piped in from the hot springs around town. But if the idea of spending a few days in a small Japanese hot springs resort sounds appealing, this place will be amazing. The price is not cheap, but the access it gives to private rooftop tubs overlooking the ocean make it worthwhile. The hotel staff were attentive and observant and always ducked into the room to make the futon in the evening and put it away in the morning when we were out. There was no need to bother with a "do not disturb" sign, as the staff were preternaturally aware of our movements. Guests are also recommended to fork out the extra money for the traditional breakfast. Even I (bold culinary traveler as I like to fancy myself) hesitated at some of the offerings, but overall the meal service was diverse and creative, while staying true to traditional Japanese cuisine. As for location, the hotel is right in the middle of the hot spring strip in Obama. The local bus station, which provides a quick connection to cities like Nagasaki and Unzen, is a short walk from the hotel, and a wide variety of sites and restaurants are also easily accessible on foot.

Sì vous voulez faire un break pendant votre séjour au japon où tout simplement goûter à prix réduit à un rokyan traditionnel sans être noyé parmi les touristes c'est un très bon choix. La chambre de style japonais avec futon est grande et confortable et bien équipée, terrasse avec vue sur mer et sdb privée mais au vu des nombreuses possibilité de bain privé sur le toit la sdb n'est pas très utile. L'hôtel dispose de six bains privés d'eau chaude venant du volcan ainsi qu'un onsen réservé aux clients. J ai pu sans problème réserver la plupart des bains sur le toit pour avoir les couchers de soleil alors que j'étais dans le bain d'eau chaude. Six bains sur le toit avec vue sur mer, grande et superbe chambre traditionnelle, petit déjeuner japonais très complet, bon wifi, personnel très sympa même si ne parlant pas vraiment anglais. A découvrir sans faute même si c'est uniquement pour une nuit. Une heure trente de nagasaki, bus et train mais ça vaut franchement le coup. A noter l'excellent restaurant de sushis à 500 M sur la gauche en sortant de la hôtel. Seul bémol, pas grand chose à faire à Obama a part aller visiter unzen qui est à 15 minutes en bus.
