Great new hotel in Takayama”
Excellent hotel, opened in 2018, sparkling clean and perfectly maintained. Very friendly and attentive staff. Our room was spacious and very well appointed with every conceivable amenity including phone charge cables, complimentary smart phone usage. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept on in Japan. On the top level is a Japanese Onsen style spa that guests can use for free. The water is sourced from a local hot spring. There is also a guest lounge bar with a grand piano and live piano music in the evening. There is parking on site for an additional 800 Yen. Wat Hotel exceeded expectations, 10/10! Highly recommended!

We decided that we’d stay in the Hollywood 30 sq metre room as a treat for the night. It was a Monday night and the room rate was very reasonable compared to other hotels. Also my partner had an international interview so we needed a good wifi connection. I had no trouble occupying myself while he was busy, in the private onsen as well as watching the sun go down at the beautiful bar area with “ self playing” baby grand hotel upstairs overlooking Takayama and the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was great too. It was walking distance to JR train station and bus station which was perfect for us as we caught bus to Kamikochi the next day. The best hotel we stayed at in our 2 week trip hands down!

Best 3 star hotel in Japan ”
I tried several hotels around the same price , and Wat is the best . Location : 5-10 mins walk from main station. Lobby : English speaking staff & best green tea drink Onsen : indoor & outdoor , awesome Room : clean and very spacious Breakfast : world class , Japanese & western Buffett Plus : vending machine everywhere Iam very happy staying here , thanks to the staffs

Definitely recommend and will stay at Wat Hotel/Spa next time visiting Takayama. The hotel is convenient to Takyama Station and dining/old-town district (nihonshu/sake tastings and local delicacies). And the hotel is modern/stylish yet cozy/welcoming, plus the onsen/hot spring waters were so "healing." Even though I was only able to use the "family" "private room" onsen (typical Japan - "no tattoo" policies), the hot spring water was sooooo relaxing and rejuvenating after a day of snowy sightseeing. My skin and hair were silky and glowing after a nice hot soak in the cold air. Highly recommend and hope to stay there again soon!

-The hotel is located nearby the Takayama station that you can walk or take a city bus (anticlokwise) for 2 stops. -the room is clean. -the onsen is great. -the staff are very kind. -Breakfast is very good.

Really great option for the price. Room is very clean and bigger than average double room in Japan. There are 4 private bath that can be used with no extra charge. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's already our 3rd stay in this hotel.

The room is quite spacious and the bed is comfortable. The location is a bit off but still walkable to everywhere, it's a good place for one-night stay

Worth for every penny”
I dont know why the hotel for me looked a bit old in the picture, but actually its really new and super nice. Though the hotel its a bit far than any other other that close to bus station,but its still only 10 minutes by slow walking. The room was super spacious rather than in Tokyo for the same price. Amenities were many, you get two water bottles,chocolate pack,tea,coffee. toilet bidet and bathtub in separate rooms.bathtub was not full size but quite big for me as asian with 1.72 mtr heights.you can enjoy sleeping in bathub too as well. They have mobile phone that you can use outside and inside the hotel with interner,free of charge. Also they have their own onsen,public indoor onsen with separate rooms between men and women. And outdoor private onsen that you can use for free with you spouse or family,as long as no people in there. I think i spend 3 stars price for 5 stars hotel facilities. Definitely will come back.

We had great time in wat hotel even my kids want to stay longer in this hotel..although it’s a little bit far from the station, but it’s very clean hotel, and they really put efford to make sure that your child is happy with the amenities..the breakfast was okay, the staff were really helpful and kind..next time when i visit takayama definitely i will stay in this hotel again..

The facilities are very well decorated. The rooms are spacious. The amenities and staff were on point. I also recommend adding the breakfast option, which was very good.

Great place with excellent service”
The hotel is situated about 5 min walk from the station. Apart from the distance, everything else about the place is excellent. As the hotel is relatively new, the place is spotless. Staff are also attentive and cheerful, and the in-house onsen is great as well. Just take note that if you wish to use the private onsen, do kindly go before 8pm local time as it will start to get crowded and you may have to wait for a private room to become available. Overall a excellent place. Will return if we are visiting Takayama again.

The place is in close distance to JR Takayama/ Bus center. The hotel hasvery high security for private onsen, especially for ladies. Breakfast line is extensive. The hotel provides free usage of iPhone whilst making a stay with them. The triple room with 3 single bed is cozy and comfortable. Breakfast line is extensive and there's a vending machine for all you might happen to need!

We did walk a little from train station, about 7 mins. Staffs were mostly friendly and welcoming, also great addition on family onsen feature.
